  1. I love it, 9 air time hills just like that other wood coaster in Sweden. Stockholm is such beautiful city, I wasn't planning on going to Europe next year...
  2. That was completely unexpected, looks nice, I was wondering if they would go for a compact woodie because you can really build it inside itself and it can be amazing. Still wondering what they are going to do with that vacant lot they purchased, well I'm expecting a B & M Invert but maybe they'll surprise us again. Good one Gronalund - a great park just got greater.
  3. ^I loved that one too and this one: "A female visitor hit another male worker in the private parts with an umbrella" I hope, for the scare actors sake, that Steven Seagal doesn't visit that maze. There's a rumor that HOS at Tampa is going to have an upcharge maze called "Alone" where you have to sign a waiver to allow the scare actors to touch you, and if you make it through the maze alone you get some kind of prize. That would be carnage in Taiwan.
  4. Don't be a scare actor in Taiwan: http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/news/breaking-news/visitors-attack-taiwan-theme-park-characters-in-haunted-house/story-e6freuyi-1225903486190 ADMIN EDIT: I went ahead and embedded the story in your post for reader convenience. Thanks for sharing this with us Brent!
  5. Hmmm, I'm not a Rob Zombie fan - though I've only seen his remake of Halloween which I felt removed so many of elements that made the original one of the greatest horror movies of all time, IMO. I've found even if I'm not into the movie the maze will still be an amazing experience, I've only seen the first Saw and didn't really want to see the sequels but I loved the maze. I'm going to Orlando and Hollywood this year so it should be great. I think Orlando really missed out with Michael Myers Halloween maze last year, that was a great maze with jaw dropping scenes and interaction between actors. My Bloody Valentine was a very good maze too (not at Orlando), even if the film is hardly a franchise. I'm counting the days til I head over for Halloween, I wonder if Knott's will lift their game this year as it looks like USH HHN will be even better this year, I doubt it but I'll find out soon enough.
  6. After seeing High Tension (which had super tension) and Hills Have Eyes, all I can say is BYO barf bag, those were seriously violent movies, that decapitation in High Tension, ewwww.
  7. Henry : Portrait of a Serial Killer - was pretty bad, it didn't even have to be particularly graphic to be extremely unpleasant. From the point of view of the killer(s) the entire time. Maniac - the 80's slasher movie, very gruesome though ingenious Tom Savini special effects, really grimy downbeat movie, I wanted to take a shower after seeing that. Ilsa She Wolf of the SS - still banned in Australia, part campy, part Nazi torture - why did I see it, of course, banned in Asutralia. It was like Hogan's Heroes meets Hostel.
  8. I found a photo of the Donkey Fairy, very scary: "But sir, my name's not Ben Dover?"
  9. Goliath at Walibi World (Holland), great coaster, straight into my top ten and a worthy Intamin hyper substitute for Expedition GeForce being unavailable for the TPR Europe Tour.
  10. My view on the Frequent Fear pass is based on what I am doing - I'm going on 2 non peak nights and I was definitely going to get Express Passes both nights, so it's saving me $74.99 on the second night's admission, which is better than nothing. I wish they had an unlimited Front of Line like USH, that was worth every cent last year, and I'd be prepared to pay $$$ for it because I'm coming from 12,000 miles away so I want to do as much as possible. I found with the mazes at USH that there was so much you can miss if you weren't in a room at the right time, I did the Halloween maze at USH 18-20 times over two nights and I when I checked out a video on youtube I still missed one (relatively minor) scare. Adam or Tyler, is it worth making a 2010 Tampa Howl O Scream thread? They have just announced that a band called MyX will be doing shows every night and all tickets are now on sale.
  11. Phatasialand was beautiful, sure it didn't have 16 world class coasters but it was a great experience. Hotel Matamba - that was like a themed adventure in itself, and we had Micheal Jackson right under our window (just beat it Micheal!). Our room was weird at Efteling, we got one bed but the base was two singles pushed together, so we but the matress to the side, and slept on the single bases which was really comfortable. Efteling was another amazing hotel, I've got to say all the park hotels were magnificent.
  12. ^Jason, I checked, it's the SCAD tower, it's accross the road from Mt Olympus if memory serves me right. That's awful, I hope the poor girl makes a full recovery. I'm really surpised a SCAD tower could fail like that - I went on a SCAD tower in Denmark last year and I didn't get anywhere near the ground and lots of TPR people did the Dells one on the Midwest trip. Sounds like there might be one less SCAD tower in the world.
  13. Sydney, Australia - with it's one wild mouse per 4 million people. Why? Because when you actually get to ride decent coasters you'll really appreciate it. Most of my favourite coasters are in the north east of the United States.
  14. I think an even more vital statistic for KT is height, I know she's not the least bit intimidated by an angry Italian L & T Mouse but do you think she might be a little hesitant when she hits the 48" and 54" limits for the really big coasters? I have to say that KT has been fantastically well behaved and delightful on all the trips I've done since 2007, and I'm amazed how she can remember everyone's name.
  15. Just make sure you disinfect that butter knife with a blow torch before hand.
  16. ^The TPR Kosher Koaster tour, and what better place for TPDave to finally get that circumcision that has long been discussed on many previous tours.
  17. ^The Mist really pulled off that ending well, it was a great film overall too - Director Frank Darabont and Stephen King go together like peaches and cream.
  18. ^Nothing tops Tyler's puppet show (sponsored by Red Bull) for shock value. Salo has just been unbanned in Australia which has created a political furore, I've seen some shocking films but I don't think I'll watch this one. I don't need to see 13-16 year olds being raped, tortured and killed to work out fascism sucks and people can be real a$$holes. Some of the shockers I've seen: Baise Moi - a French version of Thelma and Louise, except with actual explicit sex and some not super graphic but extemely disturbing violence (still banned in Australia). Caligula - Helen Mirren, John Geilgud, Malcolm McDowell, Peter O'Toole what were you thinking? Rome under Caligula in reality was probably much worse but this is still pretty bad (still banned in Australia). Cannibal Ferox - I was numb for three days after watching this movie, schlocky but revolting (banned for 25 years in Oz). Last House on the Left (original) - not as explicit as today's torture porn, but far more impactful with bizarre comic interludes (banned for 25 years in Oz). The New York Ripper - a really bizarre film, part unintentionally hilarious, and part wince inducing murders.
  19. Klownz looks impressive, Welcome to Hell last year was amazing (which was my first ever Halloween experience) - I pity people who actually get really terrified at these things, these Klownz might be in their nightmares for years after.
  20. ^I concur, I'm going on Sunday 10/3 and Thursday 10/7 and I always going to get Express Passes - so I saved $74.99 on the second nights admission. Now I've got to figure out the best deals on the rest of my Florida stuff - heading over to Club TPR.
  21. The Frequent Fear Passes with Express Access are now available, just brought mine. http://www.halloweenhorrornights.com/orlando/frequent_fear.html The non-peak FF with express access is $154.98, which is the equivalent cost of 1 night's admission plus 2 non-peak express passess. The FF Express with Fridays included $239.98.
  22. I was there on Wednesday and they were holding though it seemed much shorter than the other dive machine I've been on, it was like stop, then drop. There was a large line the day I was there.
  23. I rode 13 today and I wasn't impressed. I accept that it is not meant to be a super thrill ride but I can't see where the money went. Unless the trick element was hugely expensive, I would have expected for that amount of money - far better theming and a more immersive ride, also a longer ride. Just my personal opinion, I rode the thing once and that was enough.
  24. Going to Alton tomorrow, looks like the lines are pretty bad, drawing up battle plans now. I have an unlimited fast track for Nemesis, Air and Oblivion - so hopefully I'll be able to get the other coasters out of the way early. Just what I thought about 13...
  25. He's probably too busy counting his money...
