This one will be a blast, I think because it is not movie based it will make it much harder to anticipate the scares. I'm looking forward to the 3 hour Behind the Screams tour. Has there been any news whether Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit will be open at HHN? If it is I won't bother going to Universal in the day because I've done everything else before.

Knott's Haunt - 2010 Enthusiast Event!
downunder replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
This is an absolutely amazing event and I will be in LA that day but I'm flying to Orlando that day as well, damn I'm bummed out. Oh well, I'm going to KSF on the Thursday before so hopefully it won't be too crowded. I hope this will become an annual event so I can plan for it in the future. -
They said new traps for SAW, so I take that as they'll do murders from SAW films that they didn't do in the previous maze. Given there's been 6 films with a seventh coming, there should be plenty of set pieces that weren't covered last year. I don't know for sure because I've only seen the first film.

TPR's Middle America and IntimidaTOUR 2010 Trips!
downunder replied to robbalvey's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
What? No Big Bad Wolf night ERT, oh yeah, I forgot - sorry. At least you got the Pigeon Forge kiddie credits that were both closed last year. Seriously, Busch Europe never ceases to amaze me at how beautiful it is, and soon I'll be checking out it's Tampa sister for the first time to compare the two. How was Apollo's Chariot running, it seemed very sluggish and trimmed too much on the 2008 East Coast tour? -

You have no idea how wrong you are... Jurassic Jungle Boat Ride is one of the coolest home-built rides out there, and the quality for such is pretty incredible. Plus, no photos or video can do justice for the scariest, funniest, most bizarre dark ride I've ever been on. The ending alone was worth every cent. Adam, we're you with us when we did Jurassic Boat Ride last year? I took a video of the whole ride. Ah the memories, the terrifying taxi trip to Gatlinburg with the serial killer driver who has been abducted by aliens and sees ghosts. Then the Haunted Attraction marathon in Gatlinburg. Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge are so cheesy but so much fun, I loved checking out all that stuff last. It's a shame it was too late at night for the alpine slide when we were there. -
So a much less jovial Freddy will be in session. Which raises the question whether the rest of the New Line unholy trinity will be making an appearance - perhaps Jason from the remake and old Leatherface. Amazingly we're getting SAW and Freddy mazes down in Australia at Movie World for Halloween, quite a surprise.

^Those North Korean coasters are just cover for the missile silos. Edit: I checked out North Korea on rcdb, they have a Zamperla Volare in construction, no doubt to extract confessions from dissidents and wayward credit whores. Big Dipper at Luna Park Sydney, I was barely tall enough to ride but I got to ride before it derailed and closed. I went to Luna Park again while it was still closed and the night I visited it burned down down along with the Ghost Train and no - I didn't do it. -

Hopefully, this all a smokescreen for the 1000 foot giant elastic band launched Intamin wing walker. If it really is a Star Flyer or whatever, totally not excited. -
NEWS: Kings Dominion Employee Arrested
downunder replied to KDFAN's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I wouldn't go near any English speaking country with a name like that. In other news, after Will Hung's hugely successful "Hang With Hung" tour of Six Flags Parks. Six Flags officials have contacted Dong about a tour with Hung. -
I saw Slash (with Myles Kennedy as vocalist) at the Hordern Pavillion, Sydney, 8/16/10. I wasn't sure what to expect but it turned out to be a sensational gig. Myles was impressive as a frontman and vocalist and Slash played like he was loving every minute, they apparently went 15 minutes over their alotted 2 hours (regulations mean they have to finish by a certain time). Slash looks like he has gotten healthy, gone were the bottle of Jack Daniel's and the ciggie hanging out of his mouth, also he looks like he's been getting in shape. The set was pretty good, 5 Gunners covers - Night Train, Rocket Queen, Sweet Child, Civil War & Paradise City. 4 Velvet Revolver covers, 1 Slash's Snakepit and 1 Alter Bridge cover. The rest were from his new solo album which is killer. Slash's 20 or so minute guitar interlude was jaw dropping. Got the CD of the gig, that one will be getting some airtime.

Cedar Point stages a fun run every morning in 2 divisions. Division 1 - the Early Entry Classic, is a leisurely balls to the wall sprint to Maverick. An hour later, Divison 2 runs, which is broken up into several different length runs depending on fitness and intelligence levels: Raptor, Millie, Dragster, and Maverick; and ends with confusion ("why is there already a line") for the winner. And they play the National Anthem too.

I see on Twitter that Knott's was asking what new ride or attraction would you like at Knott's - I suggested something like Goliath at Walibi World - a great ride and not too big. Just me dreaming, if Knott's got Balder and Expedition GeForce clones, no other park would be seeing much of me. Also good to see that Knott's has set up their website so that us ghastly foreigners can now purchase tickets online using paypal. Last year, I had to go through ticketmaster for Haunt tickets (a rip off) because you couldn't buy tickets on the Knott's site unless you had a US or Canadian address.

I never play, for starters I'm not interested, I don't have time, and I assume the games are rigged anyway. Also the thought of carrying a fluffy bunny the size of three human beings around a park does not appeal to me, nor do the people who are into carrying huge fluffy bunnies around parks all day. I re-watched Rollercoaster again not long ago, I loved how George Segal won a ring toss game and his prize was a carton of cigarettes. Last time I was at King's Dominion in 2008, I didn't check whether those kind of prizes were still on offer. The psycho in the movie made George Segal marathon Rebel Yell, that's really mean.

Orphan Rocker at Scenic World, Katoomba - if you've got that credit - you're either lying, the owner of Scenic World, or a sandbag (legend has it that they tested the ride with sandbags in the train and they got thrown out).
