So since schools almost out I got to bring home a bunch of my artwork today, and I realized that since many of you here have an obsession with Deloreans, Back to the Future or both, I thought I might share a creation of mine from sculpture class. For our wire study based off the work of Alexander Calder, I decided to make the Delorean time machine from Back to the Future, using aluminum and copper wires. It was a fun project and the result was every satisfying. It’s a tribute to the greatest movie series of all time and the best car ever…period. So here are a bunch of photos, from a variety of angles. It was card to completely capture the car on photos, since you can see through it partly and certain wires focused more than others in picture, but I tired my best to give the best overall view, because it is made of wires and space is critical to making it work as art. So here are pictures: Overview Front view. DMC!!!! Back view. Try to make out the details in the lettering on the lower left side of the car. The doors are actually functional! I used rubber bands to make them go up, and little hooks to make them stay down. Check out the interior. Complete with flux capacitor and time circuit drive. And the dashboard, drive shaft, time circuit board and speedometer. MUST GET TO 88 MPH!!!! Here’s both the doors open. More front view. When this baby hits 88 MPH, your going to see some serious s***. Here’s the cooling exhaust ports. This is the lighting rod from the first movie. I actually had to watch the ending of the first movie to get the shape of it correct. It also took me way, way to long to wrap the pole. But, you can see it leads directly to the flux capacitor, channeling the 1.21 Jigowats directly into the flux capacitor and sending you back to the future! Here’s a close-up of the lettering on the back. Delorean Motor Company. Yeah, that’s right. The wheels took me forever and didn’t turn out so great, but whatever. Here’s a top view. It’s pretty cool to see how the space works with wires and how simple it looks from one angle and how complicated and busy it is from another. Oh yeah, I got second place for 3-D artwork in my school’s art show! And just another sculpture for anyone who’s a fan of my comic strip. We had to make a pre-Columbian sculpture, AKA “Something that looked like an Aztec artifact”, so instead of making some weird thing, I decided to make Ricky into an Aztec…guy… Here’s me with Ricky. That was pretty entertaining. Great Job. Although I do feel bad, this place looks even more screwed than before. So just wondering, On the Time Machine are they intending that each of those doors for the different decades has a train that features different music from those decades?

^Well you have to consider that only two of those (Dominator and Hypersonic) are large scale coasters aimed directly at thrill seeking guests, and both of them were not custom made for KD, With Dominator coming from Geauga and Hypersonic being a prototype design S&S first created in their backyard. However that’s besides the fact that Hypersonic is now gone leaving one major high thrill coaster built in the decade left. I think its fine, really, I mean they are BGE’s closest competitor and they have really got to have some sort of great coaster to rank up against BGE’s artillery. Sure it might seem nicer to us if they gave it to a needier park, but it’s CF’s choice to give KD a new coaster, and theirs not much we can do about it.

I do agree, seeing that this will take them back to four launches which is more than any park I can think of. However I am exited that this is looking more and more like an Intamin. It would be really great if we could see a megalite or maybe even just the return of a mega coaster. That would be great for KD, it's just what they need.

I heard a great one today while waiting for Nitro: Kid 1: "This ride (Nitro) is so old" Kid 2: " Well at least it's not as old as El Toro, That ride is made of WOOD!"

I was so lucky I can't believe it. Today I got to the park at 11:00 and went directly to KK when I saw it testing, then literally less than a minuet after standing by the entrance they opened up and I got on the first train of the day! Then I rode it two times after that, without waiting! Of course after I got in line for my fourth ride it broke and didn’t open until 4-ish…

It's been down all the days I've been to GADV this year. I kind of have the impression that they've gotten tired of having to repair it in a hurry for the past 4 years, so now they just procrastinate on fixing it. But anyway if your going to Cedar Point I wouldn’t worry to much on missing KK, Because TTD is essentially the same basic experience, only smoother and with lap bars.

I also really love your pictures, but I also completely agree with Goliath513. They got rid of a world class rapids ride to upgrade their waterpark with the things they should have thought about building originally, but it still only stacks up to the most average waterparks around. Although thanks for the report! I'm now pretty exited for going next weekend!
