I owe you a drunken night out Larry! What a great thread, I just got on board and am reading every word, but had to jump ahead and say kudos. This is so exciting and beyond amazing in this day and age. I can't wait to visit and support this project! I'll be dreaming of the Haunted House at Elitch's and the Funhouse at Lakeside tonight.

No more Musical Circus!?!? Oh noes! But still a wonderful park. Glad you all had a great time, enjoying the updates, I can't believe I'm not there. -

You're Welcome Divv! It was a great night out and well worth the pain the next day. Great TR! No matter how long it takes you to put them up, please keep doing them. It always brings back such great memories. Have a BLAST in Japan! -
I'm just now getting caught up on all things TPR. E, I'm so upset that this is your takeaway from the day. I distinctly remember having a huge grin on my face and giving you and Robb a big Kudos and thumps up for this (even though I just couldn't do the spin and spew ride). I had no clue this was happening, and quite frankly, after the horrible "incident" I had with a couple of my tour mates, this moment completely washed that away and made me refocus on the amazing times I always have on the trips. I really hope you don't stop trying to surprise and delight, there's always some of us out there VERY appreciative of your efforts, but I can completely understand that after this experience you might decide to stick to the script. It truly was a grand highlight for me! Thank you.

When the narrator said "quiet, respectable bathhouses" it took me right out of the segment. -

Fabulous report Rich. I shall be better prepared for Boggle rematches in Scandi. Plus you'll need to reclaim your Metroid Pinball title. -

Bob and Joey! Have Steve and I taught you nothing?! You were BOTH supposed to drink 11 beers, not share them. Jeeze... Looks like a grand time, sorry I missed it, but I had a beer drinking adventure in Hong Kong myself. So there! The suddenly fat face of Rich comment made me spit out my cereal. Good one Robb. And great to see panther Dave! Yay! Glad you all had a blast. -

Whoo Hoo another great new avatar pic. Thanks Robb! And you wouldn't know it from the pics, but I was on the final extra extra extra ride time train. EGF was running so much better than last year, and is definitely my number one steel. Thanks Holiday World! And Steve... Karma. Karma Karma Karma. -

In my typical fashion, I'm going to play DA here and say River Quest IS a Rapids Ride! Please consider: Walking by it on the way to watch the Soccer match, seeing it in its extra dry state, it looks like most rapids rides around the world! Concrete trough with barriers to create "rapids". Now admittedly the "rapids" that are created don't do the trick they should do here, they are there. So there! -

In all fairness to Steve (and this is the only time this will happen), I must have been pretty drunk too as I have no recollection of this picture at all. Also, it's too bad there's no pics or video of Caitlyn and Gage on the coin operated horse chariot. They totally ran down a grandpa with a baby stroller! It was both mortifying and hilarious. Luckily, the baby was not in the stroller at the time, but the grandpa was not happy as it was and gave them a piece of his mind... in German. -

Love the Adventure Parc pics Hanno! Thanks for posting. Even if mine aren't all that flattering! -
I used to think I would never live those 2 pics down. And then there was Divv. Yay Divv! For the record... Still Drunk.

Six Flags Magic Mountain's X2 Media Day
rllrcster replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Thanks for the shout out Robb, even though I was being a hussy with ACE yesterday. I enjoyed my 3 rides on X2 yesterday, and will agree that it is "smoother" than Eejanaika. The effects weren't working on my rides (except the music, which I really dug), so it's difficult to give a full review. The last time I was at SFMM and X was operating, it was simply not rideable. Now, I'd wait 45 minutes for it. I think that's saying something. I'm in the minority on Eejanaika though, and had a fun ride on it. I attribute it to the excellent padding. I just wish the new X trains were padded like Eejanaika, than there would be no issues whatsoever. On the drive up to SFMM yesterday, my expectations were lowered by a good analogy... You drive a heavy car down the road, your ride is going to be smoother than driving a lighter car down the road. So, if the new "lighter" trains are running about the same as the old "heavier" trains were running at their best, and improved reliability and operations are achieved, than isn't it a win win? I hope everyone gets a chance to ride it for themselves, with all effects working, soon! I think the issue of the effects working is a very legitimate one and comes right down to the core of what SFMM is trying to accomplish... This would definitely be a barometer for me on how they are doing. But it's looking like I could walk up to the fire breathers and blow, and they wouldn't work for the next train passing by! -
