  1. Just a tip for anyone planning a trip to Scandi -- watch out for the opening dates. It looks like quite a few parks go to weekend only by the middle of August...
  2. What, you think nobody else has ever been to that park and ridden that coaster? Give me a break...
  3. Right, that's it. Next time I'm in the UAE I'm going to make time for Wild Wadi. Thanks for posting
  4. Anaconda is a superb ride, worth the trip to the park; for a while it was my number one coaster. Highly recommended.
  5. Very rough. Bring your advil.
  6. There's at least two in parks - http://www.rcdb.com/r.htm?ot=2&mo=8221 There's a third one that travels the middle east, called Miami Dolphins - http://www.rcdb.com/9045.htm?p=33090 There might be more...
  7. I was there in '05 and '08, so not at the same time as the original poster - but I can't say I noticed any problems with the operations on either visit.
  8. I'd be really surprised if there were not at least as many versions that travel. There's something like twenty in France alone.
  9. As requested. These are from 2008.
  10. I'd be surprised if there were only two hundred wacky worms worldwide... anyone got a total?
  11. Unless there's been a drastic change to Tower of Terror since I was there, nobody in their right mind would want to ride more than once...
  12. I'll second that. V12 is unmitigated crap. TAER IT DOWN!@ (not that I generally advocate disposal of amusement rides, but really, V12 is a sorry excuse for a log flume)
  13. Must.... resist... temptation... to... repost... with... watermarks...
  14. a) Last I heard all the coasters in North Korea except the Volare were SBNO, and b) There are no known Wacky Worms in North Korea!
  15. I don't think any Wacky Worm qualifies as rare really...
  16. ^ Perhaps. I've no immediate plans to go back to Orlando, though I imagine I'll be there at some point in the next decade. We'll see.
  17. LOL! Nope, that's one of a handful of Wacky Worms I've missed where an adult must be accompanied by a child. As I recall they wouldn't sell me a ticket! Ah, I wondered how long it'd be before someone highlighted that one. There's another one half way through the list with the only surviving wonder of the ancient world clearly visible, possibly the best theming you'll ever find

  19. The Wacky Worm (or Big Apple) is probably the single most common kiddie coaster design on this planet, with versions available from a variety of manufacturers, including DPV Rides, Fabbri, Fajume, Levent Lunapark, Pinfari, Preston, Sartori Rides, SBF Visa, and probably others I've forgotten. This week, while updating my coaster log, I noticed that I'd actually ridden over one hundred of them in my travels through twenty-one countries; Australia, China, Denmark, Egypt, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, Oman, Poland, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, and the United States. I reckon this is probably sad enough to warrant a photo trip report! Those interested in the written word can find the several hundred trip reports I've written on my web site. My previous photo trip reports here are The Complete B&M and The Wood Coasters of North America. 0033: Big Apple (Bottons Pleasure Beach) 0058: Big Apple (Pleasureland Southport) 0094: Wacky Worm (American Fairs) 0240: Kålormen * (Karolinelund) 0345: Chenille (Nigloland) 0352: Family Coaster * (Parc Saint Paul) 0377: Worm (Glen Smith) (Irish Fairs) 0392: Caterpillar (Brean Leisure Park) 0448: Wacky Worm (Lake Winnepesaukah) 0496: Kukomotív (Vidampark) 0508: Big Apple (Codonas Amusement Park) 0511: Big Apple (M&D Scotlands Theme Park) 0512: Wacky Worm * (Loudoun Castle) 0573: Imorinth (Central Park) 0601: Family Coaster (Arakawa Park) 0639: Kids Coaster (Nara Dreamland) 0676: Big Apple (English Fairs) 0678: Gold Mine Express (Irish Fairs) 0681: Big Apple (Barrys Amusements) 0687: Le Pomme (French Fairs) 0689: Family Coaster (Parc Saint Paul) 0703: Big Apple * (Billing Aquadrome) 0704: Speedy Gonzales (Clacton Pier) 0710: Big Apple (Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach) 0720: Mouse Coaster * (Riverview Park and Waterworld) 0769: Wacky Worm (Northern Irish Fairs) 0771: Rollercoaster (Funtasia) 0775: Wacky Worm * (Myrtle Beach Grand Prix) 0779: Wacky Worm (Baja Amusements) 0781: Wacky Worm (Trimpers Rides) 0785: Wacky Worm (Jolly Roger Amusement Park) 0797: Wacky Worm (Gillians Wonderland Pier) 0821: Wacky Worm (DelGrossos Amusement Park) 0837: Big Apple * (Astroland) 0890: Big Apple (Pirat Parc) 0893: La Pomme (Euro Park) 0894: Chenille (Magic Park Land) 0914: Big Apple (Northern Irish Fairs) 0930: Big Apple (Ocean Beach Pleasure Park) 0932: Wacky Worm * (Seaburn Fun Park) 0974: Wallis's Wonderful Wriggling Wirral Wacky Worm (Wallis Family Fun Fair) 0975: Caterpillar Capers (Camelot Theme Park) 0998: Masken (Parken Zoo) 1007: Karlo's Taxi (Djurs Sommerland) 1019: Big Apple (Dutch Fairs) 1020: Bugs & Bees (Dutch Fairs) 1066: Fun Mouse (Irish Fairs) 1089: African Big Apple (West Midlands Safari Park) 1093: Wacky Worm (Adventure Landing) 1125: Wacky Worm (Australian Fairs) 1137: Gusano Loco (Mundo Divertido)
  20. For those of us who missed them, can anyone pull a watermarked image out of cache? Just wondering how irritating the watermarks actually were/are?
  21. If appearances are anything to go by they didn't miss much. I was in Kuwait for the second time a fortnight ago and went to have a look at it; judging by its current state it's never going to run again. The area around it is all boarded up now anyway.
  22. I respect that. Personally my interest in North Korea isn't the credit whoring (though that is a fringe benefit, Zamperla Volare notwithstanding). I actually want to see the place. It's not at the top of my list, but it's certainly on the first page of it.
  23. I'm actually looking at a trip there right now for general tourism rather than a coaster expedition (though clearly I'll hit the three parks if I go). The fact that you have to go via China though, meaning double entry visa at the very least, makes it somewhat more appealing as an extension to a China trip. It doesn't seem that tricky to visit, but it is fairly expensive. I've been chatting to the folks from Koryo Tours and they seem to know their Kim Jong...
  24. North Korea add-on to China 2012?
