TR: Six Flags America
BarryH replied to Spideyfreak's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Was S:ROS open? Well, considering yesterday was Saturday, I'm not surprised the park was busy. SFA isn't really a bad park. I nickname it "Attack of the Clones" because it has so many coasters that are clones. Maybe if you went to SFA today or on a weekday, the crowds would have been lighter? I know, SFA isn't open on the weekdays in September... -

I love Vectorman 1 & 2! I used to have a Genesis, but I had to sell it off. It sat around and collected dust for over a year. I never really played it. If you have an Atari 2600, see if you have Warlords. That is the coolest multiplayer game ever. Find 3 other drunk friends and it's the ultimate party game!

I'm anxiously awaiting "Law & Order: The Ride" to take over BTTF. -
Special edition FD3 DVD?
BarryH replied to FLIPDUDE's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Personally, I liked FD1 a lot better than FD2 or FD3. The FD3 bonus disk has a pretty neat featurette on the Dead Teenager Movies. -
Photo TR: Cypress Gardens - 9/6/06

Remember, this was a visit in September. All the theme parks in the Orlando area are pretty dead around September after Labor Day. I went to Disney-MGM in a Saturday in mid-September once. Rock N Roller Coaster and TOT had no wait at 2 pm! Usually, the wait is at least 30 minutes. Being that Cypress Gardens brings in less people than the major parks, you'll probably end up with a deserted park. Cypress Gardens does get busy, particularly on concert days. I went on a concert day. A few hours before the concert, the park was packed! The Vekoma kiddie coaster had a line that ran all the way down the ramp to the end of the stairs. That was the longest line I've ever seen for it! -

Pleasureland Southport to Close FOREVER!

Dang it! I surely hope someone saves the wheel. The wooden mouse was pretty intense. It felt like it was going to fly off the tracks! -
Hey, on a connecting flight back from London, some kid took a poop in his pants and could smell it through the entire 3 hour flight! What co-centric circle of Hell was I in? For that matter, what co-centric circle of Hell was Elissa in?

Theme Park Review's 2007 Group Trips!
BarryH replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
This came up in chat, but someone asked if we were going to visit Stricker's Grove on the Midwest tour. They're open to the public on July 4 and the 2nd week of August. The Midwest tour falls within the dates of their public opening. I don't recall seeing Stricker's Grove listed as a park (I suppose it could be under "and more"), but if you go on this tour, there might be a good chance you can visit Stricker's Grove. Their two coasters are some of the hardest credits to get. Of course, we could rent out the park to ourselves...but nothing is set in stone yet... -
Don't be sad. Many people on TPR are older than Robb! On the upside, you are still in the critical 18-49 demographic that TV bigwigs love.

New Universal Orlando Rumor...

I would pay to see the Blue Man Group. The old Nick buidling is huge, so I can see the BMG occupying one part of the building. The other part can be a BMG gift shop! -

I wonder...will we get the Taxi Jam and Gemini Jr. credit during the midwest tour? Maybe Elissa can teach us the fine art of borrowing a kid. If I were to do it, people would probably think I was one of those guys they show on Amber alerts. -

^If you room with me, beware I snore! Ask rollermonkey Chris Credit Ho, er, Chris B. I'm waiting on the Jew-pan information before I make a final decision, but I'll send in the deposit for the midwest trip as a 2nd choice. I have to see if my friend wants to come along with the midwest trip.
