  1. I was also wondering how it gets tested for ages then seems to just not work very well as soon as it opens. Do they open/close the restraints in the station etc during testing, or just send the dummies round over and over again? Did it test a lot better than it's running? It's a real shame that it's started so badly, with Saw still listed as closed on the website today. I was meant to be going next Sunday, I haven't bought my tickets yet but I think I'll wait until Saturday night to do so and see how it's going. I'm not really bothered about visiting the park unless it's open.
  2. It's bad that Stealth is down, I mean it depends why. They may have found a fault with it and be waiting on a new part. I don't know. Where it IS bad Saw is also down, its a brand new ride so it's to be expected to a point. I'd guess fixing faults is a learning process for all parks when they get new coasters, so when they are new it takes a lot longer. Probably the worst thing from all of this is that with 2 main rides down, plus both water rides and slammer closed, the queues for the rest of the rides will be really bad. Not sure just how many people would go on the water rides anyway, but it would still help keep the queues down.
  3. ^It's closed today, along with Saw. Good start to the season so far
  4. ^^Also the video above has been edited, and cut at the MCBR to look like the end of the ride. Theres a nice drop out of the MCBR and another inversion after that.
  5. ^^You can't judge 'bad' operations from one preview day. From what I gather today it has run really well. If it's still breaking down every day in 6 months time you'll have a point.
  6. Another BBC news report, with a little video in the station. Looks dark. news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/7937557.stm Shame about yesterday's preview day. I hope the ride is up and running today for those that of you that go. Oh and don't lean on any gates.
  7. Excellent. Maybe they'll do some decent theming like what has been done at Thorpe for Saw.
  8. Nice pictures. I can't wait to experience Tarmac: the ride.
  9. ^You're right, news should be impatial and deal only with the facts, letting the viwer decide for themselves what they think about those facts. I mainly questioned why there was a guy at the end saying about safety when the report was just about a new ride opening that the public might be interested in. It wasn't related to the safety of rides, more one of those light hearted stories they have at the end of the news to brighten your day since the majority of rest of it is usually so depressing. In other news, Saw had a great preview day with a very dramatic, publicised breakdown involving celebrities, tears, paramedics and a panic attack, whilst briefly becoming the WORLDS TALLEST COASTER at 650 feet tall! At least thats what happened according to the news report. Once again, the news report contains spoilers about theming. Click here for more.
  10. A (slightly) higher quality version of the video is available HERE. THE WRITTEN PART OF THE ARTICLE CONTAINS SOME SPOILERS ABOUT THEMING ETC. so do not read it if you want a total surprise.
  11. I thought it was a bit odd that they in no way shape or form mentioned the ride was tied in with the Saw movies, or has a large dark indoor section. I guess they want that as a surprise. I still can't see any info for buying the Saw fastrack tickets either. All the other fastrack options are up, but none for Saw, unless they aren't going to be using fastrack yet as the lines will already be so long.
  12. ^ What do you mean? This is one of the best topics ever. It's second only to 'What would rides be like on the moon?'
  13. Saw (no pun intended) this aswell, really looking forward to it still. I love the way at the end there has to be someone questioning roller coaster safety though. Was it really necessary?
  14. If anyone wants to add me I spend my time on there playing CoD4 and no I don't take it seriously. Gamertag is Purplepiiis.
  15. I just love riding them and find them fun. The bigger picture for me though is visiting a park, and for that whole day nothing else exists asides whats in the park. The only thing I need to worry about is which ride I am going on next. Its a total escape from everyday life, and I love doing it.
  16. Hahahaha. Some of the best captions ever.
  17. Yeah I was wondering that. I have to use the normal queue anyway as my wife gets petrified when people jump out on her, so I have to go through first on my own to see if thats what happens. When we went through the chamber of horrors at Madame Tussauds she thought the actor was actually going to kill her. I was just thinking if the queue ends up at 2+ hours or something like that I'd get the fastrack to get another ride in later in the day.
  18. Now going on the 22nd, just wondering if anyone has seen any information on fastrack for Saw and whether it'll be available on the day. I'd guess it would be £4 or £5 based on what Stealth used to be, but only individual tickets are available on the website at the moment.
  19. ^Yeah I'm going on the 21st (hopefully), I'm going to try to avoid reading/seeing anything about it so I get a proper surprise when I get there. I've actually pretty much forgotten about the coaster itself and am now far more interested in the theming and the live actors. The coaster is like a bonus on top almost.
  20. Hooray! Thanks to all of you who voted for me =] Glad you liked it. Steve
  21. ^ Possibly, but then compared to the number of people going you probably wouldn't notice. What I am interested in though is if you know whether or not they have any ERT, and if so is this during the park regular opening hours?
  22. ^I just think it would be great to ride it before I hear all about whats inside etc. I guess I could just not read about it until I get to go on it. Yeah I can only go on a Saturday, otherwise I'd go in the week sometime. I wouldn't ever go on a Saturday unless I had to, it's my only option really unless I wait until later on in the year. Thanks for your help =]
  23. Does anyone know just how busy it's likely to be on the 14th/21st March? Also has it been confirmed if the press etc will be there on the 14th, or before? I'm decding whether or not to go, I'd love to go on opening day but I dont want to go to all that effort (it's quite a lot money and time wise) if its going to be completely packed. What was the opening day for Stealth like?
  24. From the official website: 'We have worked in close collaboration with Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures on this project to ensure total accuracy of the key elements of the ‘Saw’ films, which when combined with the latest rollercoaster technology will create a phenomenal ride experience' So yes they have been involved, but to what extent I don't know. Looking at all of it, including the fact there will be live actors for some of the time (wonder whether this will be temporary or a permanent feature), I'm really looking forward to seeing this open.
