I also have that Chip and Dale car on display in my house on a shelf dedicated to my random pick-ups from Japan or the traveling exhibitions that come to Korea from Japan. Sadly I've also come across one or two trains stopped or delayed due to 'Human-related accident'. One of my Japanese friends said it's a general term for some-one getting hurt or injured by a train somehow but nearly all the time what it actually means is some-one has thrown themselves on the tracks.

The park is still there, but Blue Fall and Surf Coaster are down for various reasons for months and it's been reported that they may not reopen. Word is Surf Coaster had a small crash in the station which injured two people. That's a death sentence for a ride in Japan. Apparently they also got some negative press since they recently got a pair of Red Pandas and one of them already died. I think they've had animal rights and press problems for a while since they also removed the dolphins from the pedalo area. -
Every-time I see Tower of Terror queue-time pictures makes me remember that one time out of all my trips they had the single-rider line for it open and I basically ended up going around in it for about 2 hours and getting 10 rides in a row because I wasn't sure if I'd ever get a chance like that again.

Obviously, the riots will have an effect on tourism but I think this article could be a bit misleading, trying to make a bigger story and make it seem like it's the main reason the park looks quiet. For reference before my son was born, we would go out to Hong Kong regularly this time every other year or so for Chuseok since it's a Korean exclusive national holiday it's a perfect time for us to travel since it's quieter and our only other vacations are in hugely busy times: Chinese New Year, Last week of July and Christmas. These articles talk about how Hyper-Space Mountain and Small World are the most popular rides but we've had boats to ourselves or empty lines, no waits for any greetings for almost every trip. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure the riots are causing a lot of tourism problems but I think this article is using what is usually a very quiet time to try and get some attention. I mean my photos were taken after the park was open a while on a nice weather day around this exact time, we've got spoilt on our Chuseok trips so we don't even go to the park at opening or 60-90 minutes before opening like we do when we visit Tokyo. -

Elissa basically got it: Fuji-Q has vending machines in front of every queue entrance where you can choose a time slot (they cost 25,000 yen each the day I visited). Nagashima is pretty similar, vending machines that sell passes, but they weren't time reserved (they cost 5,000-10,000 yen the day I visited). They had them for SD2000, Hakugei, and Acrobat. The songs in every Fuji-queue were hilarious. I just remembered how painfully slow the Eejanaika loading system was. All shoes muse come off, 3 different seatbelts, making everyone pray for their lives basically. 25,000 yen per single fast-pass? That doesn't seem right even for Japan's expensive passes. That's the same as buying a Universal Express 7 for Sunday. -

^I'd love to see the voting gimmick they used with Fury make it into some new coasters that come state-side. -

Sadly just a Trax now, they stopped turning on the jets maybe over 8 years ago and then actually ripped them all off the track a few years back but it's still super-fun and the water didn't really do much apart from giving the ride a unique look. -

Here's a video of the updated ride. Similar to the old shooting haunted house upgrade next door, It seems to be a combination of screen overlays around the physical set. Nw to this is they've mixed into the rotating house a shooting element (actual ride area around 4:55): [youtu_be] [/youtu_be] It's hard to tell with these madhouses but I think they've removed a lot of the rotation out of the cylinder around the vehicle in favor of some swaying to focus on the shooting aspect. For comparison, the old ride: [youtu_be] [/youtu_be] -

I think somewhere it was mentioned for Walibi the park can change the water level to suit their needs. So if you’re riding in the winter then they can lower it to a dry splash but have the water higher in the summer. That splash area fills ridiculously fast. -
^I agree, I've had more pleasant trips there since the expansion than the other parks. I do wish Phatheon had a second train or more staff though. Now I just hit that ride first and then avoid it for the rest of the day. My last two trips the train was going out once every 8 minutes or so and with all the food vendors near the entrance, I was getting jumped so often with people going out and back for food that it made for a miserable barely moving line in the afternoon.

Lenny's Magic School (the English name according to the English guide map because I think the Korean translates to School of Magic) will open September 4th. This ride will replace Rotating House. It's unknown if this is a new ride in the building or a re-theme of the old system. -
It just seems funny that every park has to have a big announcement and be included every year. I guess I've just got used to the Asian parks way of add when we want and half the time not even announce it, you'll just show up at the park and see construction fences with a picture on the side one day.

So I posted this in the Great Adventure thread but so as not to de-rail the coaster talk, I think it would be better here: Is it normal for Six Flags to just suddenly post their announcements on social media at a random time? I was surprised to see the timestamp of just over an hour ago (when I made this post) on their announcement video and it was maybe 70-90 minutes before it seemed many sites posted the press releases. Even on the official SF media there seemed such little discussion, retweets, or even comments as if the time wasn't when people expected. It was maybe 2 hours after that post when the fb/twitter seemed to start to get attention. -
Source Source Translated from Korean since the article in the post above is still the only one out of all the English newspaper sites in Korea.

^I think you completely missed the point. He wouldn't have been banned for having a different experience than Robb and posting his different thoughts, it's painfully obvious that the banning point was stating only one experience (his) is true. I've never understood why so many of these get aimed at Robb/Elissa when they say they didn't have a good time somewhere or even just 'This was ok but not mind-blowing.' on a website that has Review in the title. I remember years ago Robb saying something about 'Baron was good but Lost Gravity was the surprise hit' of a previous Europe tour and people lost their minds. Now I see lots of good things about Efteling over their previous visit and Symbolica doing dark rides better than some of the biggest parks out there (Universal?) by using actual animatronics and there's not a word from those same groups. It blows my mind even more when in the last few weeks I've seen TR's from other TPR members or twitter posts echoing Robb's experience and nothing has been said calling them out as also 'exaggerating.' -

So I haven't seen this mentioned, apologies if I missed it, but Hong Kong has joined Paris and Shanghai in having a paid-fast pass system. Winnie the Pooh and Space Mountain are the only two that have ever offered free fast-pass and will still have the fast pass machines. Strangely enough, Space Mountain will now be the only free fast pass exclusive ride in the park since it isn't on this new pass. There seems to be two tiers with the highest tier converting to I think around $50: Source Alternatively, there's a one day and pass combo for the 3 out of 5 for $838 HK Dollars or the + pass for $938 weekdays, $988 weekends (so a saving of around $50). It seems its included for hotels but not sure if that's per day or per stay. I'm assuming with walk up counters in the hotel for the new pass, it's just a one time gift. Source
