  1. Isn't there a huss tri-star at pleasurewood hills now? Pleasurewood hills tri-star
  2. Prehaps this was why you got evacuated from the Tomb blaster queue: source: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-18379364 source: http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/4363787/Girl-in-critical-condition-after-30ft-theme-park-plunge.html
  3. Maybe i've been working in Asia for too long but when and why did My Little Pony become popular especially with middle aged men, I remember there being some plastic toys that young girls used to have when I was about 6 but that was about it and I thought they had died out since I never really saw younger children with them as I grew up, when did it make such a huge comeback? Youtube & Google tells me that it's a TV show now but I still can't see why it is this show in particular out of all kids show that men would latch onto so passionately???
  4. I feel like it's more likely a dark ride than one on water especially looking at the second car, prehaps trackless on a floor thats made to look as if you are going around over the ice. Although anything is possible.
  5. I don't suppose the ride at parque espana was anything like this was it Larry?: http://www.seoulland.co.kr/joy/playing_profile.asp?idx=68&flashcode=1_4_6_0 This is Seoul Lands 5D attraction and it was all around and sitting on stalls like you said, I saw the freakiest movie in this attraction... it was set in a hospital where bloodied children were crying and throwing their severed heads at you which would float between stools, and vines with thorns that came right between your eyes.... I thought it was playing one of the more friendlier films like shown in the picture.... The 3d was all around but it wasn't quite seamless it didn't go all the way to the top and if you looked at one area of the circular area (like in the picture) where the image started and stopped overlapped so it wasn't quite seamless
  6. I did always think tower of terror needed more terror!!! And god help my insanity after editing all these pictures into one photo. It's a small tower's world of terror
  7. There's been some new ones since then and some updates to all the old ones, I love the jurassic park rapids and star tours sim personally... they are looking for 700 likes before they release the next Sim so if you're a fan of the site please like its facebook page : http://www.facebook.com/RideSims
  8. Calling it now Everland in eagles fortress's spot, a wingrider terrain coaster that hugs the hillside through the trees , well a guy can dream.

  10. saw this on screamscape, the video is worth a watch. This video shows the ride being tested by inspectors during the investigation. MOD EDIT: To be more descriptive, this video does not show the accident. MOD EDIT: Link removed, no longer points to the video
  11. sorry if there is mistakes doing this on bad wifi on a phone... Just did the giant drop in japan today and that one definitely didn't have seat belts, it was just 1 set of buttons to lock them and unlock them, i know its a seperate model but i have seen them dropping the gyro drop at lotte world with restraints open before, once when it broke down in the middle of the day they sent it up a couple of times with the restraints open which kind of freaked me out since that's another tower without seat belts so it was quite unnerving to watch it drop without closed restraints, so the system will allow it under certain conditions, maybe somebody left it in maintenance mode?
  12. Ahh sorry i just looked at that one but it's also not korean, can't tell you what it is for sure since i've only studied korean, but after reading through some japanese sites for my upcoming trip i'm pretty sure some of the symbols look familiar so i think the menu on page 10 is japanese.
  13. Which picture are you referring to the lottle picture was definately not written in the korean alphabet since the korean alphabet is based of mainly circles and lines, for example i really like lotte world is roughly (sorry my korean isn't great): 저는 롯데 월드 정말 좋아요.
  14. Lotte World is kind of the name given to the entertainment part of the huge Lotte corporation here in korea, they have supermarkets, department stores etc etc, a bit like the lotte world towers that are being constructed, one next to the existing lotte world and another in busan. they are both being advertised under the lotte world name but only one is a theme park and the other two are going to be huge skyscrapers with viewing decks. Busan is actually the other end of the country from Lotte World and the aquatrax It'd be a bit like going to Universal Hollywood looking to go on rip ride rockit.

^^ As i said i'm more of a person interested in trying new things so for me yes operations will suck and i'm much more interested in Disney, but i've always wanted to check out a 4d coaster and the eurofighter intrigues me as well, i'd love to try the launch coaster but after that i'm more likely to hit the star flyer than try out the haunt or fujiyama, same as if i get a chance to go to say disney, i'll probably skip over raging spirits (though it has a singe line queue) because i tried the one in paris to try out aquatopia over getting another credit. Although i'm hopinh with 3 weekdays i can get most of disney done, friday which may be busier shall be my park hopping day which may help. And for someone that used to (i'll cover it in my next Korea TR) have an everland season pass i never consider anything that takes under 2 hours to get to a long way. I mean universal is a 3 hour bullet train that i will have to take to get to tokyo (although for the life of me i can't work out how to book the train in advance will just hope they have plenty of seats when i get to the station after universal) but i get to see some scenery and parts of japan out the window so i'm not worried about the times.

Not really, it just so happens that i had a week off no-one else did, my girlfriend hates rollercoasters but doesn't mind dark rides so if we'd gone to japan together, it'd maybe have been a day at tokyo disney at best, this way i get to do the places I want to at the pace I want to, if i went with friends no way I could do so many parks. As for fuji-Q i suppose its personal preference, i've never been a credit person or haunt person, i'll ride something if i haven''t experienced it before or i think it's unique. so for me its about the 4 big coasters after that if it came to a choice between the smaller coasters and haunt i'd probably pick the star flyer because it's something new to me, as for speaking i've lived in korea 2 years now and though i now know some basic korean, i still survive without it everyone is so helpful. Sonce Robb & Elissa have been so helpful providing me with websites i thought i'd share the information i've gathered so far (and for selfish reasons it gives me one place to just click instead of having to organise my bookmarks folder), with many thanks to their links and some other information I gathered for anyone else since I see lots of people asking about parks and a lot of the information can sometimes only be found on japanese websites (many thanks to my korean friend who knows some japanese as well) Google translate is pretty good at translating attraction names if you need it. 18. In my experience, the chances of using more than one ticket per coaster per day at Fuji-Q are pretty close to non-existent. (Takabisha is absolutely stunning, FWIW -- it's just a shame they built it at Fuji-Queue). I went October 31 & Nov 1. weekdays. I did 2-3 tickets for each coaster on my first day & rode takabisha twice in line early morning & later in the day did the hamster coaster woth a minor wait time. The following day i lined up early for Takabisha & then head straight to line up for Eejanaika. i bought 3 ticktets for each coaster plus the water ride & the haunted house & did more browsing at stuff i know little about like Evangelion. I bought all my tickets for each coaster in the same hour eg Dodonpa all 3 tickets were for 12-1. They let me board every second train if i remained at the boarding station for rerides. If you just ride the big coasters you could squeeze in 4 coasters for every second hour & 3 the other hours. You can be done in 4 hours, leaving you several hours for other stuff. What is the procedure for getting the fast passes i'm taking a bus out so will get there 10 minutes before opening on a monday or tuesday most likely and want to get those tickets bought asap as soon as i get there, if i know ahead of time what to look for and how it works will really help.

    1 Week in Japan

Yes because it's only 4 weeks away and since my g/f is working i'm going alone, I was going to hop to hostels close to each park but i realised this meant a fixed schedule as seen on the front page, i had tuesday blocked off for fuji q but if it was a day of rain it would just be a waste, by making one base, I only have to fit 3 days in a row for disney and the rest can be arranged around that on the monday-friday (i want to avoid the weekends in fuji and disney and friday will maybe be busy too so i think that would be my disney park hop day). The rooms for more than one people were readily avaliable and so were the hostels but a lot had curfews at around 11 or 12pm which isnt ideal if i'm getting a full day in disney until 10pm, so that only left singles.... since i'm on a budget i looked for ok hotels, but most were already booked up presumably by people doing business in tokyo by the week so that's why i decided to book now, i think you mentioned going with a friend so it wouldn't be such a problem for you. I've been told the bus is the way to go for fuji q, coming back can take a while but going out of tokyo on the first bus normally makes it just before opening.

^ Awesome thanks i actually booked it all up, i figured after the weekend in osaka if i check in sunday night and stay in one place it makes my schedule so less tight, check the forecast on the train from osaka and plan on the spot that way instead of hoping to the different hostels and having set days i'll keep base in Shinjuku and just plan my schedule as 3 day block disney, 1 day fuji q, 1 day tokyo tower and joypolis day and maybe tobu zoo arranged around in any order. Got a nice place not too far from the aquarium for saturday after landing in osaka so i can hop straight over to universal studioson sunday then it's just getting a bullet train to tokyo after i leave the park at 5pm with all the other people out on day trips returning and the end of the weekend, hope tickets don't sell out, would it be worth detouring to the station before i go to the park?

So still undecided about fuji q, was considering taking a train to the city nearby and staying in a hostel on sunday night, then train to shinjuku My plan now being: Saturday: Land at midday, go to the aquarium, look around osaka. Sunday: Universal studios the park closes at 5pm in february so that should give me time for a train to shinjuku, and make in a hotel i've found there( on the Shinjuku-Gyoemmae station i think 2 stops from main shinjuku train station ) until i leave on the sunday (having 1 main base should make it easier) Monday: Culture day and make base and get to know the area, find joypolis Tuesday: Since i'll be in shinjuku book with this bus company to fuji Q (https://www.highwaybus.com/rs-web01-prd-rel/gp/foreign/frgSelectBordingDate?lang=en&lineId=110&onStationCd=008&offStationCd=059) the first bus should get me there 10 minutes before opening.... anyone know if the bus terminal is near the main station or any subway stations? Wednesday - Friday: Either the shinjuku bus or the train to tokyo disney parks. Can't stay on resort, 1 night would cost me the whole 8 days of hotels in japan Saturday: Maybe more tokyo or tobu zoo. Anyone taken the metro to disney, it doesn't display Mirihama where disney is located on the subway maps but i'd assume even from shinjuku it wouldn't be bad thw disney website says to take the train: http://www.tokyodisneyresort.co.jp/en/access/train/shinjuku/index.html but i don't know whether that means an actual train or as in the metro, if i'm staying until 10pm that rules out the bus.

TBH most of this information is available in advance of your trip, as for weather i've lived in korea for 2 years and it's always unpredictable... i already found park times and rehab schedules i spent most of last night planning and they post rehab and opening hours way in advance its just trial and error on the japanese sites since only disney list on their english (same as everland in korean though) i found the universal one last night here it is for anyone that needs it: http://www.usj.co.jp/parkguide/schedule/attclose.html Just waiting for fuji q to post febs rehab and i can finalize my schedule Noted hooray after a helpful google translate Jaws the ride is the one down for rehab and it reopens the saturday i fly.... touch wood it isn't delayed and is open by the sunday, the only thing i'll miss is the moonlight starlight parade, now if only fuji q is as kind as disney and universal.

Thanks I think Fuji Q is the one i'm really nervous about, because there's a lot of things i really want to experience there that are way too far out from where i live in the UK like a starflyer, 4d coaster and the new coaster so i really hope weather and rehab schedules arre kind to me. Same with universal though i'm a huge BTTF fan so praying that it isn't on rehab that week.
