Thanks for posting this. I have deleted the link to RCPro and the reference. The pictures were not "From RCPro" they were from Splashtacular. I posted the photos that came in my email box and I absolutely thank and credit Splashtactular for them. I got the exact same press release and photos, but just hadn't had the time to post it yet. It's a real pet peeve of mine when people give credit to photos to another website when the credit actually belongs to the company they came from. --Robb

The Official TPR 2010 Trips Thread
robbalvey replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Is there anyway to be able to skip through the chat without having to listen to the whole thing again? I listened to about 30 minutes of it, and then today I tried to click to a certain time frame and it would not let me. The streaming version will always stream, sorry. Just download the file and play it on your computer or iPod. --Robb -

I just noticed this... Could this be the closest a Vekoma 1-2 Combo of an SLC & Boomerang next to each other? I can't think of any other park that has these two popular models practically touching each other! --Robb -
I really need to get back to the PNE. That's one coaster that has been in my "Should I put it back in my top ten list since I haven't ridden it in about 15 years" list for a while now. I remember the coaster being flat out *amazing* but I really don't think I've ridden it since like 1996 or '98 so it's hard for me to keep it in my top coaster list when I haven't been on it recently. Need to go back... Thanks for posting the pictures Larry! --Robb

Well, that's kind of why we were asking what everyone thought of that. Of course we've considered it, but feedback about something like that would be pretty helpful! --Robb -
I know you were just passing off your "shaky camera shots" as just 'whatever' but I have to be honest, It was the constant shaking that made the video unwatchable for me. I really would work on holding the camera a bit steadier or using something to hold the camera still. You can get one of those mini-flex tripods now for about $20 and they fit in your pocket. Sorry to criticize, but if you're going to put your videos out there for everyone to see, expect comments and feedback. And by listening to what people have to say, your videos can only get better. --Robb

If I had to guess, I'd put money on that building between the new Johnny Rocket's Shakes & Fries and Deja Vu finally coming down. That's the old theater building turned employee break area that hasn't been occupied in YEARS. I know from talking to Neal and Jay when they were building Terminator they told me that "other buildings in the area" were earmarked for future demolition. Take that building out and all of a sudden you have quite a good amount of room back there. --Robb "That's my guess..." Alvey

^^ It's not an upcharge (at least it didn't use to be when I worked there.) It's just a normal operating day with this special event in the evening. They usually hold it over a couple of days. So if your pass gets you in during the normal operating day, it will also get you into the event. Unless things have changed, but I don't think they have. --Robb

Shane's Amusement Attic
robbalvey replied to montezooma's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ The old Dragon track still can be seen on the side of the hill. The station is still at the bottom of the hill to the left of Jet Stream and just behind the Pretzel stand next to where Spin Out used to be. The station for Ninja is actually the old Dragon station and if you look as you enter the station for Ninja while on the ride, you can see the old track dissapear under what is now the current loading area for Ninja. --Robb Edit: Congrats to Shane for passing 1/2 million views! -

Roller Coasters in the RAW Volume 4!
robbalvey replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ There will be an iPod version, but not sure when we will release it. It's very hard to master 2 discs and ship them let alone two more iPod files and get it just right. We don't just "convert the DVDs" we do conversions of the files, watch the entire movie beginning to end, etc, etc. It usually takes us a few days to get a iPod version from the point that we start working on the project to when it's ready for release. Not sure I'll have that free time between now and Monday. Just letting you all know! --Robb -
Glad that worked out for you! --Robb

Winter is approaching. A TPR Hoodie **WILL** protect you from the cold, transport you to any theme park of you choice, and serve as armor against any Intamin cables that may come flying your direction. ORDER A TPR HOODIE NOW!! http://www.themeparkreview.com/store --Robb -
And now for something a little bit different... The TPR Grand Prix 2009! In case you didn't know, PowerPark in Finland started off as a professional Go-Kart racing center. They have two tracks. One indoor and one outdoor. These tracks are highly rated in Europe and during our Scandi Tour TPR got the chance to rent them out and host the first ever TPR Grand Prix! Of course we were hoping it would be more of a "Death Race" grand prix, but to our disappointment there were only a small number of casualties. Anyway, read on... Ladies and Gentlemen...we present to you the competitors of the TPR Grand Prix 2009. Please wish these men and women the best of luck as they compete TO THE DEATH to be crowned the champion. That's right. Today's weapon of choice is this professional grade Go Kart! I don't mind having to wear the funny clothes, but I don't want to be called "Jaffa!" Not even this heavy duty racing gear can contain TPDave's massive junk from bursting through the seams! (Women take note! Big Mike certainly is!) You guys know this is a race not Ocean's Eleven, right? Our TPR Grand Prix participants are almost ready for round one. You guys really to KILL? And here they come rounding out the first lap! Number 8 is giving number 33 the "bird" in Finnish! While it looks very slow here, these karts are actually going at speeds of over 100 MPH!!! Amazing. "Look ma...one hand!" Uh, oh, looks like we have our first casualty. Don't worry number 2, nobody saw this... Racecar POV!!! ps. if you happen to know what racecar spells backwads.... EMAIL DAN!!!! mrt0ad13@aol.com Bodies are scattered all over the race track now. "Two....I have killed two people so far..." SIGNATURE MOVE!!!! This is it...final lap! Coming in the home stretch...lean in!!! LEAN IN!!!! And there goes the checkered flag... And we have our winners! Tom from the UK, Ivan from Switzerland, and Hot Fuzz Rich from the USA! Congrats guys! And now how about some video of the TPR Grand Prix? [coastertube]http://www.themeparkreview.com/coastertube/play.php?vid=Grand_Prix_4_9hsx[/coastertube] Video edited by StealthFan. Some photos by Hanno. Hope you guys enjoyed the update! Comments, comments, comments.... --Robb

^ Dude. Disney Cruise Line doesn't cater to "teens." They cater to families with smaller kids. I don't think DCL is for you, and personally, I'd rather NOT have a bunch of obnoxious teenagers running around their ships while I'm trying to have a good time with my 3 year old. Sounds like Disney's Cruise ships just aren't for you. --Robb
