  2. Ok everyone, I'm going to post the rules from the ballot page here so that everyone understands. It's VERY simple: http://www.themeparkreview.com/contest2005/contest2005.htm 1. You MUST submit a valid email address. Only ONE vote per email and IP address. Your IP address will be logged! Any repeat ballots from the same email or IP address will NOT be counted. 2. Vote for your favorite THREE (3) videos, and ONLY three. Put a 1 in the box for your first and favorite choice, 2 for your second choice, and 3 for your third choice. You MUST vote for three (3) videos. Ballots received with more than or less than 3 choices will not be counted. So if you are one of the people who just sent in multilple ballots with only two choices, those ballots of have been deleted! --Robb "Please follow the instructions and all will be right in the world again!" Alvey
  3. Voting is NOW OPEN!!! Click here to submit your ballot: http://www.themeparkreview.com/contest2005/contest2005.htm --Robb
  4. Guys, Seriously. Unless you are a member of the media, that includes: television, newspapers, magazines, online publications with a solid reputation, you are just wasting the parks time...and yours. Instead, this is what I recommend to help build your sites reputation. Start with good photo updates or if you want to do videos so bad, do them WITHOUT pov! You don't need POV to make a GREAT coaster video! For example, everyone loved our Hersheypark/Storm Runner video, and there wasn't any Storm Runner POV in it at all! Websites are going to be the lowest priority for most parks because there are so many of them out there. Unless you are one of the top sites on Google (for example, Google "theme park videos" and you'll see who comes up first!) in the first couple of pages, most parks won't give you the time of day. If you want to build your sites reputation it takes TIME. Seriously. It takes LOTS of time and patience For example, even this site has only recently reached the threshold that it's at, and we've been around for 9 years! It didn't happen overnight. It's been a very long-term investment for us. Keep that in mind when asking for filming or any other special permission and don't be upset if you are turned down. That should just give you an incentive to strive to do more work on your site! --Robb "Who will always help people out because I want to see as many GREAT coaster sites out there as possible!" Alvey
  5. Hmm...this sounds a lot like the story you heard about Mantis breaking someone's leg. --Robb "Sounds a bit fishy if you ask me..." Alvey
  6. Why is it "Uh-oh INTAMIN?" --Robb "Everyone always seem to rush to point fingers at them...then again, I do know how that feels..." Alvey
  7. ^ What color were they before?? --Robb
  8. Ok everyone! The final 5 entries have been posted! http://www.themeparkreview.com/contest2005/contest2005.htm Since it's pretty damn late, I'm going to make this short. There's Jon's Hersheypark video with LOTS of coaster footage, Joseph's Adventureland video with LOTS of pink robe! Paul's Solace video, Alain's Movie Park Germany video, and Brian's Six Flags Great Adventure video. Start downloading! --Robb "The ballot is going up soon!" Alvey
  9. First rule of polls! Have as much information as you can before you post! Expedition GeForce, Goliath, Colossus, Balder, Rita, Kanonen, just to name a few of the OBVIOUS ones left off the list. --Robb "Poll closed." Alvey

  14. I hadn't gotten around to responding to this yet since we've been so busy with lots of other random stuff, but I wanted to say thanks to Jon for putting up with us on that trip! It was certainly a crazy, whirlwind trip where we did so much in such a short amount of time. I'm sure other people can relate, right? Thanks for the great TR....I hope you can get around to posting the Epcot and other days soon! --Robb "Wants to hear your Beverly report!" Alvey
  15. ^ Well, I have to be honest, I didn't expect this avatar theme to go over so well! I have to figure out the best way to do the voting as there are so many of them!!! --Robb "We'll let people post avatars for the next couple of days, and then maybe I'll put up a ballot or something on Tuesday." Alvey
  16. ^ LOL! They are both awesome!!!! --Robb
  17. Hey there TPR readers from France!!! We need your help! We were planning to cross from Italy to France on 30 June around 10pm through the Frejus tunnel, but obviously due to the fire last week that tunnel is closed. The other option now, is the Mont Blanc tunnel. However, we can't get good information as to if that tunnel is actually open at full capacity at night. We have heard everything from they will be alternating traffic every 45 minutes (which could really screw us getting to our hotel near Walibi Rhone Alpes) to it's going to be closed after 17:30. The official website is here: http://www.atmb.net/atmb_hp.php?lang=fr And while they DO have an english version, it doens't seem to have the same information as the French site does. Would any of our French readers be willing to have a look at the site, or even perhaps call the info line to find out if the tunnel will be open to full capacity on 30 June around 10pm? Thank you very much!!! --Robb & Elissa
  18. ^ Ok, since you don't seem to understand that it's not appropriate for people to come on a message board and brag about breaking park rules, we'll just make this one simple rule. "If you're going to make a post bragging about breaking park rules, which includes but it not limited to: sneaking cameras on rides, line jumping, standing up on coasters, or any other park rule, you're account will be deleted and your IP address banned." I can tell you that parks we have relationships with DO read these boards and if they were to see that we were allowing people to discuss how they intend on breaking park rules, we would not be able to bring you the updates we do. And I am NOT going to jeaprodize my relationships with the parks or our site because a couple of people want to go around breaking park rules, then come on here and brag about it. Is that clear for everyone? It's like I said, you wouldn't go on a Ford Mustang board bragging about how you just stole a brand new GT Convertable, so why would you come on this board bragging about how you are going to break park rules? --Robb "I think that's fair, right?" Alvey
  19. Hey guys, Here is another useful tip. If you plan to sneak your camera on rides, DON'T POST ABOUT IT!!!! Because you've just given the parks all you need to throw you out. For example, ddaver177, if IOA saw your post, and emailed me and asked them for your contact information, I would have no choice than to give it to them. I have a good relationship with that park and I'm not about to jeaprodize it. It's like I said, this site does not condone such actions, however I'm not going to tell you what you should or shouldn't do at parks. That's up to you. Follow the park rules, ask for permission, and be prepared to deal with the consequences if you are caught doing something you shouldn't be. Going on an internet website admitting that you plan on breaking park rules is about as smart as someone robbing a liquor store, then going online and bragging about it. --Robb "Not smart" Alvey
  20. ^ Be sure to post your pics in the "Model off your TPR shirt" thread! http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=16988
  21. Please note that, while I'm not going to tell people what they should or shouldn't do while at a park, just like I'm not going to tell people how they should drive, what crazy diets you should or shouldn't be on, etc, etc, this site does not condone such a thing as sneaking cameras on a ride. Ask permission. That's the way to do it. --Robb
  22. Don't forget that you can always relive the Clementon Jack Rabbit in our video: http://www.themeparkreview.com/videos/video.htm To be honest, I can't see it being saved either. It wasn't that great of a ride to begin with. Good for families, I guess, but it would probably be just as costly to build a brand new 'medium or junior sized' woodie and it would come without the baggage of the past 80 or so years. --Robb "I know, I know...I'm not much of a preservationist!" Alvey

  24. ^ LOL! I wish!!!! The BBQ was held in the rec room of our apartment complex and they have the theater, pool, and party room. But since the rec room is about 20 feet away from our apartment building, it's kind of like our backyard! --Robb
  25. We are planning to check out Hong Kong Disneyland this Christmas. Details are still in the works, and if that trip does actually happen, we'll post information about it to see if anyone would want to meet up! We'll know more after Europe if we're doing that trip or not. --Robb
