I don't know, but what is interesting is how Disney is really one of the main trend setters of the industry and how they have this and other parks don't. And some people like to say "well, Disney rides aren't as extreme" but I can carry anything I want to on Rock N Roller Coaster which launches to 55MPH in the dark and goes upside down several times. I really wish other parks would follow suit, especially a certain competing park that not only won't let you carry on any loose items, but makes you put EVERYTHING including your phone in a locker, go through a metal detector, and even get wanded like you're going through TSA. Want to know how much fun it is to stand in an hour long line when you're not even allowed to have your phone? Not fun at all. I refuse to ride another coaster where I have to walk through a metal detector in order to ride. No coaster is worth that volume of stupidity.

And actually, we do something *sort of* like this when we live stream from WDW on our Facebook page. Check out some of those videos.

^ We have actually toyed around with this in the past. We find the average video retention on YouTube is between 2:00 - 4:00 which means anything after that mark never gets seen. We've talked to a lot of people who do vlogs and they tell us less than 10% of their audience make it all the way through to the end of most videos. IMO, why put so much effort into something that less than 10% are going to see? I think it's just my style of thing either. Who knows, maybe one day we'll change our minds.

It's been an annual event for us at least the past 15 years and last night's event was probably the best ever! Not only did we have an awesome group costume as "Epcot World Showcase" (thanks Kristen) but the volume of candy they handed out this year was INSANE and overall it's just nice to be in the park with a limited amount of guests which makes wait times for attractions short and the overall vibe of the night amazing! Read through the photos below and you can see why we had an incredible time! Look at where we are tonight! There is a big group of us here tonight! Can you guess what we are dressed as? That's right! Tonight we are dressed as Epcot World Showcase for #MNSSHP! All countries represented along with Spaceship Earth! Love the new "check in" area for MNSSHP! Get your bag, some candy, and you're ready to go! Yay! WDW loves our Epcot themed #MNSSHP costume! MT: @WDWToday: We LOVE this! It's so creative and the perfect #NotSoScary group costume! We have been seeing some amazing costumes tonight! Love that someone dressed as Gadget from Chip n Dale: Rescue Rangers! Would you vote "Dallas for President?" We were supposed to be at #MNSSHP night of Hurricane Matthew. WDW was awesome, switched our tickets so we made buttons to celebrate! And of course the best part of MNSSHP? Getting treats from the candy girls! There's a lot of fog in Frontierland! That means the Headless Horseman is coming out soon! Watch your heads everyone! The Headless Horseman is here and he wants YOURS!!! [twitter] [/twitter][twitter] [/twitter] I absolutely love love LOVE the new Wreck-It Ralph/Sugar Rush Racers part of Boo To You parade! Cynthia & Juan... Best candy crew of the night!!! LOVE THEM!!! Yes!!! David S. Pumpkins totally showed up for #MNSSHP! OMG!!! This guy came to #MNSSHP dressed as the Main Street Electrical Parade! LOVE IT!!!! #BaconStripNeverForget The candy crews have been AWESOME tonight!!! Sooooo much candy! Mental note! Stitch's Great Escape makes a MUCH better candy stop than it does an attraction! [twitter] [/twitter] This PhotoPass pic they were doing with the light stick background is AWESOME!!! Even Anna & Elsa love riding Space Mountain! Nozzy is fully ready to ride Space Mountain! I love our Space Mountain pics tonight! A salute to Spaceship Moon! Well, mostly Garbles! So nice to be able to ride a roller coaster in Orlando without having to put everything in a locker!!! Or go through a metal detector... Or get wanted by security...' Once again, the "Big Top" crew have been totally amazing! Thank you! You guys rock! I *LOVE* how they dress up the Ghost Hosts at the Haunted Mansion for MNSSHP! Great Scott!!! We found Marty & Doc Brown! Their DeLorean took them to @WDWToday instead of @UniversalORL! Hope they get home ok! One more pic of us dressed as Epcot World Showcase at MNSSHP! This has been a FANTASTIC event! And of course, the final "candy score" from MNSSHP tonight! Seriously had a great time! My favorite Halloween event in Orlando! (the dollar is just there to show scale!) If you live in Orlando or are planning a visit, October is the best time of year and make SURE you get to this event!!!!

I don't think I have any interest in doing something like that. If I'm going to waste my time with any of this, I'd much rather just laugh at certain specific posts. For example this one I saw posted.... So I have no idea what this person is talking about. I've never heard of "Roller Coaster Expedition" and from what I can tell, the only correspondence I've had with him is when the dude bought some DVDs from us in 2012. His account on the forum is still active today and never has been banned. Zero clue what he's going on about, but hey, if this is what he wants to believe, not gonna break someone of their weird little fantasy. Whatever makes people happy.

This is quite true. I honestly give zero f**ks about what these people say about me. Hasn't stopped TPR from being the most successful theme park site in the world one bit!

Is this a kiddie woodie? I'm not sure if by "preparing" riders for Thunderhead they're implying the coaster will also be wood, or simply adjacent to Thunderhead in location. Exactly why I asked. -

My family will tell you that they probably think I spend TOO MUCH time with them! lol Seriously, that's one of the benefits about having your own company and working from home. As a family we hang out ALL THE TIME, probably more than most families spend together. But again, these are just "made up" comments that people will say to make them feel better about themselves. And it's all pretty hilarious to me.

I don't know why but whenever I think of these idiots coming to the ride with a bunch of pickup trucks to take it apart it makes me think of this Family Guy episode with Peter and the forklift.... While he's trying to do something right, he's too stupid to even have a clue how to move a whale! lol -
Thank you! That's the plan!

All I know is that if even a quarter of those 319 people were here on TPR it would make our forum a much more obnoxious and horrible place to be... more than it already is! I'm actually quite happy when I get to deliver another member to their group! Just means a better place for the rest of us, and I'm happy to have found that person a new home. Look at it like a "relocation service" free of charge!

Queen Mary Dark Harbor 2016 Media Night!

It's kind of a shame this haunt doesn't get more notice and seems to fly under the radar every year. Those mazes look AWESOME! I love how they do more than just jump scares or pre-recorded dialogue and audio triggers. There are small encounters with actors in the mazes and some of them follow along with you. In many ways, this sort of interaction is WAY better than what a park like Universal does which is just the same kind of triggered audio scare over and over and over again. I wish I could make it out this one year... -
This is what I keep telling myself every time I read one of the crazy stories about it. Some of the haters should be writers. I mean the stuff they come up with is actually more interesting than our actual lives! lol
-
^ Please keep political comments out of this. This isn't what this is about. Thanks.

The crazy part about it is how some of them will say things like "Alvey has wayyyyy too much time on his hands" but the reality is that some of these people have been at this for FIFTEEN to TWENTY years!!! That's a *LOT* of wasted time and a lot of hate. And where has it gotten them? A Facebook page with a handful of other haters? Congrats, you've done so much for yourself and society! lol Me on the other hand, I'm actually proud to say that thanks to building TPR into what it is today, I actually DO have time on my hands to write an article like this. It's a nice byproduct of owning your own successful business!

Actually, it's funny you mention that! I have had the thought to totally wipe the slate clean of everyone banned on all our socials and the forum and see who actually ends up coming back, regardless of the horrible stuff they said, because you know most of them are saying all that stuff because they are just upset with themselves for being so stupid as to get themselves banned from a theme park site, but can't take personal responsibility for their own actions. I did a test of this a few months ago. I think it was back in April or May I unbanned ALL of the blocks we had on Twitter and I figured this would be a good way to see which of those people are truly awful and continue to post disparaging stuff about us, and which ones would start following us again. Oddly enough, about 1/3 of them actually sent me a message saying "thank you" for unblocking us, about 1/3 of them started posting more hate (to which I blocked them again), and I think the other 1/3 just don't use Twitter anymore! lol But at least we now know how it all shook out. Those that we re-blocked again absolutely proved that they deserved it and were the ones who were really being hateful and malicious. It was certainly a fun experiment!

Thanks! I had a lot of fun writing it!
