I don't think the economy killed Hard Rock. I think it was the fact that they barely advertised. When I was in Myrtle Beach this summer I only saw one advertisement for the place. Not to mention it was built far from the beach. It took me a good 20 minutes to get there from my hotel where as Family Kingdom took 5 minutes.

I'll be at GADV opening day as well so I might see you there. My first ride at GADV of the year is always Nitro.

Happy New Year everyone Well it is finally 2009 which means another exciting year for roller coaster enthusiasts like us! So now the question is what park am I going to go to first in 2009 & what roller coaster will start me off this year? Well for me my 2009 season will most likely open up at BGE on March 28 & I plan to ride Griffon first I hope everyone has an awesome 2009 roller coaster season! EDIT: This is my 400th post

I have so many great coaster memories of 2008! First, I started my season early in March. Second, I went to Cedar Point for the fourth time & Kennywood for the first time on my birthday. Third, I went to Myrtle Beach & got the Hard Rock Park credits. Fourth (& the best one) I went on TPR's Behemoth/Ravine Flyer II & East Coast Tour! Fifth, I rode my 200th credit on the East Coast Tour which was Griffon. Sixth, I went to Las Vegas for the first time & didn't want to leave Seventh, I rode all of my top five steel coasters! Finally, I rode 632 roller coaster rides which doubled the 300 rides I rode in 2007 Only 3 months & 27 Days until my 2009 season opens up at BGE! ~Matt "Had an AMAZING 2008 coaster year" T.

Great update Sam. That ert on Lightning Racers that night was AMAZING I was 10-3 on the Lightning side. I'm looking forward to seeing the end of your report.

This is very interesting & I hope the plan works. At least the rides at Astroland won't be trashed. Does anyone no if just the Cyclone will operate in 2009?

I got Expedition 11 & RAW 2 for Christmas I only watched Expedition 11 so far & really enjoyed it! Great DVD Robb.

That's good that it is going to reopen. It was closed when I went to Vegas in November but hopefully it will still be there when I go back in 3 years when I'm 21.

Great pics! Hopefully Phantom's Revenge will be smoother if that is what the park is trying to do. The ride was smooth to me when I rode it in June.

What the heck is up with the Flying Turns!? It has been like 3 years under construction & it is still not ready That would be cool if the Golden Nugget goes to Knoebels. I never got a chance to ride it at Morey's. The raised prices don't really bother me since I only go on wrist band days.

Typhoon Lagoon is my favorite water park! I think the park's shark reef is the coolest water park attraction ever

I like Dominator a lot, but I agree that the corkscrews are the worst part of it. I've found that corkscrews are usually the worst part of any coaster. KD has lost something over the years (I've lived in Virginia since the mid-1980s). I agree I am not a big fan of corkscrews either.

I like TPR TV since it is based off of Theme Park Review's site & I think the name sounds cooler than Coastertube.
