Trip 12: Dorney Park June 24, 2009 Today was a magical day of my roller coaster season. Yesterday at GADV was not a fun one but today was different. I finally got someone to go to Dorney with me & we left my house around 10:25 AM & arrived at Dorney around 12:40 PM. To our surprise the park was pretty much empty. My friend suggested that we marathon (ride a single coaster 10x) each of the 5 major coasters at Dorney. Being the coaster dork that I am I excepted the challenge & our day began on Talon. We rode Talon 10x in a row in about 25 minutes! After Talon we headed over to Hydra. After 5x in a row I started feeling a little sick so we took a break. Following the break we rode Possessed 1x & then I got some medicine for my stomach. Then we rode Thunderhawk 2x & made our way to Steel Force. After we rode Steel Force 5x in a row I felt good enough to finish Hydra's marathon. My friend & I decided to finish Possessed, Thunderhawk, & Steel Force in a loop. We rode Possessed 4x in a row to make it 5 & Thunderhawk 3x in a row to make it 5x. After Thunderhawk we rode finished off Steel Force & went back to Possessed. After 2 more times on Possessed maintenance had to do a check up so we headed over to get Thunderhawk out of the way. While on the 10th ride on Thunderhawk we saw that Possessed opened back up. We rushed over to the ball crushing Intamin & rode it 3x in a row to end the day. The 10th time on Possessed was my 200th roller coaster ride of the year & the 50th ride of the day! On the way home my TomTom got messed up in Philly & we were lost for about an hour. We found our way back to the Benfranklin Bridge & I arrived back at my house at 12:30 AM. It was a long day but by far the best day of my 2009 roller coaster season so far & it will only get better with TPR's West Coast Tour coming up in August. My next trip will hopefully be soon & I will try to make a credit run in North Jersey or if by some miracle the Flying Turns opens I'll go to Knoebels. I didn't take any pictures or video because I figure everyone will get bored of seeing the same stuff every week. Thanks for reading! If it is definitely an Intamin giga I wonder how it will compare to MF. MF is my favorite steel coaster so I am looking forward to riding this!

Trip 11: Six Flags Great Adventure June 23, 2009 Today was the first day of my summer vacation & since I had off work I decided to go to GADV today. I wanted to go to Dorney but I couldn't find anyone to go. My goal for today was to get to 150 runs for the year. When I arrived at the park around 11:40 AM I was greeted by a full parking lot. My first ride was GASM. It was a 10 minute wait. Next I headed over to the Golden Kingdom & to my disappointment Kingda Ka was closed So I headed over to El Toro. I noticed both sides of Rolling Thunder were working & the line was only 15 minutes. Since I did not ride the left side yet I decided to give it a go. It was actually a very enjoyable ride! I sat in the front & for the first time I got some good pops of airtime After Rolling Thunder (left) I started to wait in the 2 hour line for El Toro. It broke down after 20 minutes so I left & headed over to Skull Mountain. Thankfully there wasn't a line for Skull Mountain so I rode it 5x in a row Finishing my mini marathon on Skull Mountain I did not feel like staying any longer so I headed over to Nitro which was a 10 minute wait & I rode my 150th roller coaster ride of the year I then headed home. Tomorrow I will be hopefully going to Dorney since I am surprisingly off work for 2 days in a row & I am taking advantage of it. I was hoping to go to Kings Island today & tomorrow but I delayed that trip until at weekend in September when hopefully the lines won't be long & SOB will re-open (I have never been there so I want the credit). Right now it is a mix of sunny & very cloudy. The weather can't make up its mind It better not rain tonight because I graduate high school

I visit Dorney frequently (& will hopefully go back tomorrow!) & I go by myself. I never had problems with anyone. However it is confusing driving threw the streets trying to find the park. I got lost going home

HellCat last night after work.

I've been attending on HellCat at Clementon Park for 3 days now & will work fulltime all summer. So far HellCat is the only ride I am certified on because I just got hired.

As of right now I'm listening to a lot of A Day to Remember. AC/DC is still my #1 but I am hooked on the song 'The Plot to Bomb the Pandhandle.'

Great TR & congrats on #400! I hope to hit 300 sometime this year.

No SOB closed Are any other coasters currently closed at KI because there is a chance I will be able to go there for the first time next Wednesday & I want to ride everything. I don't care what people think of SOB. I'm a big woodie fan & I have been wanting to ride it for a while.

HellCat at my work today in the rain! That hurt

So today they told me to go right to HellCat! I was an attendant all day. It is a pretty easy job & I like it so far. My left thumb hurts a little from holding it up for "All Clear." I was on both the loading side & unloading side so I got to press the Enable Dispatch button. I hope I can be a permanent HellCat attendant. By the way HellCat is back Open!
