I made the trip there in early September on a Sunday. I had a great time also (like I do whenever I go there!). I totally agree with you on Coaster Thrill Ride; It's so enjoyable and there is some extreme moments of airtime (especially when your lap bar is half-a-foot off your waste ). Even though it was 10 bucks, i still hit up the Extreme Scream. In my opinion, it was totally worth it but I've only been on 5 drop rides in my lifetime so you would probably have a different opinion about it. Anyways, glad you had a great time! -
Um, I got -2. I made it to level 9 though!

Yesterday, I went to orientation and I got my schedule... but it was missing a first period class. So we waited a hour to get it changed and after moving to a whole new area of the school and taking me out of AP just to get my schedule to work, this is what we came up with: 1=English 10 2=Japanese 1 3=Biology 4=Algebra II Trig. 5=Regular History? 6=Intro to Engineering 1 My friend is in the same hall that I'm moving into and she's still taking AP world so who knows if I'll take regular history or AP. I probably wont know till September 3.

Well, being the thrill seeker that I am, I have to admit I like SFDK better. Mostly because their rides where a little better and more enjoyable. Now, if I were someone who enjoyed the theme park atmosphere and the family rides more than the coasters, I'd have to go with CGA. -

OK, last update of the trip: Sunday. Sunday was about half as busy as Saturday which worked out great. We got lots of re-rides (on the rides we liked) and even got on some we hadn't been on yet. The highlight of the day had to be our family ride on the White Water Safari. Sure, the line was long but it was a great finish-off-the-trip ride. We all got completely soaked; it was a blast. After the ride, it was time for us to walk the sad path out the exit for the last time (for who knows how long!). Thanks SFDK and CGA for making that weekend one of the best weekends ever! Onto the last day pictures: ...and it's raining. Thanks for reading! On the road again... OK, I want back in now. There was a party going on in the games area. Shouka. We also visited the Butterfly Exhibit. Monsoon Falls. Pre-lift madness. One more trip around Roar. MORE V2!!! The front's cool, but the back is still WAY better. First, we hit Medusa for a front seat ride. This is the only picture I got of Kong, I wonder why? No re-rides for us on Tony Hawk's Big Hour Long Wait. -

It really doesn't feel like anything. Just like your going upside down I guess It's the back spike that's the fun part! And about the whole no line thing: that didn't last all weekend, trust me! We'll let that statement start off the review for Saturday: We got to the parking lot on Saturday, but we pulled up to the booth just to be shooed back to the parking lot across the street; the main one was full. So we go to the fairground lot and, luckily, we found a spot in the second row. We looked at the line for the tram to the entrance, and we made a quick decision to walk. The park was FULL. There was no room to walk anywhere so we didn't even bother with the coasters. We picked up a show schedule and decided it would be best to visit the animals today. I'll let the pictures talk about them. We only got to see two shows through the day though (mostly because the stadiums were already full when we got there ). We saw the Sea lion show in Odie's Stadium (Now that sounds like a nice stadium ) and the Wildlife Show. They were both filled with dumb jokes but the animals were pretty exciting to see. We did happen to get on 3 rides today! Voodoo - just like Firefall except worse because there were no effects or free-swinging rotations. Plus, it was WAY more uncomfortable! Tazmanian Devil had a 30 minute wait but, in a way, it was almost worth it. I really liked this flat ride, almost as much as delirium. Then we got on V2 with only a 15 minute wait. I was very happy with the crew and their dispatching skills. Way to go! They even looked like they were having fun. We also came back to the park later that night and got some more rides on V2 and made it over to Thomas Town for a while. My brother LOVED it there and the ride ops where so nice. Overall: I don't like Saturdays Onto the pictures: I thought this picture turned out pretty cool. It was a rainbow lightsaber and my brother just HAD to get it. So, I took a picture of him playing with it and this is what happened. I'll update Sunday's adventure tomorrow.... Thanks for reading. Shouka diving through Medusa's loop. The train ride was pretty fun too. A great place for kids. My brother gave it a 10/10. We left to go eat and came back later. By then, the crowds were flowing out the gates. One of my favorite flats. No, she wasn't punching it. Sea lion show. Great job on dispatching times V2 grew! Walrus. Umm, wrong. I really like the shark tank. I had never been in anything like that before. I couldn't even get this picture without people in the way of it. Bush Baby's are awesome. They can jump so far! The boy won the ant eating contest. I don't think it's fair though, the ant eater obviously had A.D.D. The lion was eyeing me down. It actually made me nervous! This is where they keep the animals when they're not doing shows. After PETA buys Seaworld, I think SFDK is going to need to watch itself! He's distracting us so Odin can come out and attack... I know it. The tiger looked really bored. Saturday is a good day to visit the animals. Yep, it's Saturday! -

A couple CGA pictures left. That's all from CGA, more SFDK tomorow. The entrance looked even better at night! Fire! Here's why Firefall is way cooler at night... Swings at night. They were already setting up for their halloween event. Watch and learn Wild Waves. This was pretty cool, especially for my brother. I can't remember the name but you put your little boat in the river and watched it race down the crazy rapids. My boat won Invertigo *looked* nice. Ouchie. Phyco Mouse airtime is good airtime. Oh, how badly I wanted to wait in that line! No Drop Tower. Can you imagine working up there? Aww, no Survivor Yay Survivor! -

Well my dad was really tired from driving all night and pretty dehydrated. So I think he hated it more than he really did if that makes any since at all. And to me, it just kinda felt like another wild mouse. It's really not bad though. Onto the rest of the TR: On Friday, we all slept in pretty late. When we got out on the road, we had some traffic problems and then my dad saw a In-n-out. So, of course, we HAD to stop . We ended up getting to the park at 2pm (Yes, that is 4 hours after opening! Oh well, at least we made it to the park). At least it wasn't very crowded. We hit Flight Deck first and man, was it forceful! I loved it. It threw a few punches but that's all I could complain about. My favorite parts HAD to be the helix over the lake and the turning drop. It got my vote for the best ride in the park that day (A couple rides weren't open so I can't say it was THE best). We rode it 3 times in a row because there was a small 3 train wait. It got pretty hot in the park so we went into the magic show to cool down. It was OK and there were some pretty cool tricks. He kept the audience active which made his performance better overall. When the show ended, we made our way to Vortex. This ride was a little too painful, uncomfortable, and short for me. I almost wet my pants going through that corkscrew as fast as it did! Scary stuff. I think this ride has a lot of potential, it just needs some smoothing. After a while, we needed to get to the water park. So we worked our way over there and got on Delirium on the way. I really had no idea what to expect but I ended up liking it. You can totally tell when your above 90 degrees and you get tons of airtime. It ended up being one of my favorite flat rides. The water park was fun but nothing insane. The best slide here had to be Down Under Thunder. The drop had plenty of airtime, it's probably the best drop I have been on when it comes to water slides. We left the water park pretty early 'cause the lines were pretty long. Next we went on Loggers Run, Taxi Jam, Rugrats Runaway Reptar, and Physco Mouse. They were all pretty much your usual family rides. Next up was the feared, the dreaded, the shaken: Grizzly. I knew what to expect and I got what I expected. This ride was like a bad No Limits coaster: badly banked, jerky, and paced wrong. Was it always like this?! There was times when my butt was three inches off the seat, not from airtime, from bumps in the track. I'm very glad CGA is getting a GCI in '09 because they need something to replace this thing. I gave it a 4/10 for the first drop and the effort to build it. We noticed drop zone was closed when we entered the park (That would have been my first Intamin drop tower ) so we went to Survivor next. We were next on and... it broke . Up next, we walked passed Invertigo because it was broke . Then, we actually made it on Demon! It didn't even break! At this point it was pretty dark and on Demon, that was a plus. I love tunnels on rides so this ride made Odie pretty happy. It's probably my favorite Arrow Looper. Next we hit Firefall which looks cooler than it is and The Flying Eagles. The Eagles were fun but the ride op was VERY slow. I don't know if he's always like this but it took him almost 5 minutes for him to unload and reload. I didn't snap the flyer because I thought I was going to spin it around (I truly don't even know if I could even if I tried), but it was still a fun ride. We ended the night with a awesome front seat ride on Flight Deck. Overall, Great America is a Great park. Very family friendly and I like the music playing around the park. I think the new coaster in '09 will improve this park tremendously. The park just needs a little push to get started again, and with the new coaster, I think it'll get a big push. I wish the best of luck to CGA and I can't wait to come back! Onto the pictures. More CGA pics to come. This was my first Cedar Fair trashcan I EVER used. There's something special about them, almost magical! = O We found this creek in line for the log flume. It was FULL of coins. I didn't get it. My favorite Wild Mouse coaster. Cool anytime! Less cool in the daytime. You're a evil little ride. Next couple photo's are from the Skyride. Taken by my father. First up. The entrance was beautiful. B&M Invert! Yay! Finally! It wasn't so In-n-out. It was more like In-n-wait-n-eat-n-out. My first experience in California traffic! Exciting. -
Last year, on the way home from Silverwood, we were all talking about where we could travel next summer. About 10 minutes into the conversation, when I suggested a Northern California trip, my dad looked back at me and told me that we'd go if I planned it all out, and found him the best discounts I could. So I took his word and, this last weekend, we went! The original schedule was: leave on Thursday, CGA on Friday, SFDK on Saturday and Sunday, and then come back home Monday. We ended up leaving on Wednesday at 11pm and traveling through the night to arrive at our hotel (1 mile from SFDK) at about 2pm, Thursday. Coming over that hill into view of Vallejo and seeing my first B&M next to a Intamin and a GCI was enough to give me a heart attack. It towered over the rest of the city and it was impossible for me to take my eyes off of it. We got to the hotel earlier than expected and we had Big Six Passes, so we ended up hitting the park that night. We walked through the entrance and I was ready to take off. We walked over to Roar first and immediately got on the train. I was so pumped for my first GCI and it didn't fail me! It had lots of airtime and I love the little bumps, including the one in the tunnel and the one out of the big turnaround. This ride was very fun, a bit rough, but still worth it. I can't wait to ride another GCI. I rated it an 8/10. My little brother was along with us on the trip. He's 5 years old and 45 inches tall. So, obviously, we needed to get on Tony Hawks Big Spin next. It was his favorite ride of the trip, but just average in my opinion and my dad just hated it (He doesn't like spinning rides). This ride had the longest line, due to popularity and low capacity, and it was only worth it once. I gave it a 5/10: OK but nothing more. Next up was my favorite ride I've EVER ridden: V2. This ride had so many aspects that made it awesome. The launch was intimidating, the front spike was like nothing I had been on before, and the back spike had great airtime! The back spike is by far the best point of the ride though. Your looking straight down from 100 feet in the air and free-falling toward the ground. It's amazing. We hit the kiddie coasters on the way to Medusa, nothing much to say about them (Roadrunner Express hurt, Cobra was OK). Now, it was time for my first B&M ride! It definitely lived up to my expectations and every element was smooth. The first drop was sweet and I really liked the forceful turns at the end. Overall, it was really close to V2 on the favorite scale, but i am more of a sucker for airtime than loopage, so V2 remained number 1.. Kong was next; it hurt. My ears were burning and my neck felt beat up. I was expecting the ear banging but not the whole forward to backward banging thing it had going on. We also hit Boomerang before we left the park and I have to admit, I actually liked it! I sat in the second to back row and I liked the suspense of the first hill because you didn't know when you were going to drop, and when it finally did, the airtime was awesome. The loops were not as cool but the shaking wasn't so bad. I just kept my head in front of the OTSRs and it didn't hurt at all. Since we didn't really sleep on the car ride over, we were all dead at this point. So we left the park with all the coasters under our belt in less than 4 hours. We went to sleep at about 8 and woke up the next morning ready to hit CGA! The first day at SFDK I took very few pictures because I just wanted to enjoy my time without having to worry about the camera. But I did take a lot on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday so hold your horses. Anyways, here are the photos from Thursday and there is definitely more to come! PS: Thanks to my friend sarah for editing my review! She's amazing. Don't worry, much more to come! Not the type of tree I'm used to. I'm surprised I was still alive to take this picture at this point! My first view of a B&M! Wow, was it a great one. About 8 hours later we were in California! The time we left

Yeah, they are triplets along with one from New York. Well, we were originally planning to make a stop at that ride but, when we got to the park, the Booster was nowhere to be found! I have no idea what happened to it but I do know that it's no longer at Fun Forest. PS: Sorry about replying late, I have been gone for the past couple days.

By the way, how's your brother doing handling the coasters now? Back on topic: I think that more than half of us were once scared of coasters too (For one reason or another). So I think she/he just needs to find her/his breakthrough coaster. Plus, I think she will enjoy this trip to it's fullest enough even if she doesn't ride the big coasters. -

I love those rapid fire series! #2 is just awesome. It's cool to see how people's faces change down the drop. Thanks for the great update! -
Where there any lines that day? I don't think I've ever seen this park have a line longer than 5 people. Anyways... here's the rest of the photo's: And of course, you can't go to Seattle without stopping at Starbucks! Anyways, Thanks for reading everyone! A very nice carousel in a building on the waterfront. A little visit to Pike Place Market. The Orbiter. The lonely Jet Spin that hasn't moved for years. Final drop! It's a *little* ghetto. 1st drop POV. Wild River. ... The birds leave It's like they knew it was coming. Birds Land. And then the music starts and... The Space Needle. Tornado; I stayed off this one. Mini Swinging Ship!!! This thing was crazy! I could barely keep in my seat! View of the city from the Ferris Wheel.

Yesterday, my mom took me and a friend over to Seattle for a early birthday present. Our goal was to hit Fun Forest before it was rumored to close in '09. We were originally going to hit Gameworks first then head over to Fun Forest for some rides but, Gameworks failed us by taking out their best game.... So we went straight to lunch. The weather started nice but, after a couple hours, it started raining. So onto the report: We caught the 1:20 ferry and got over to the other side at about 2:00. The Blue Angels were out practicing for Seafair while we were going across... That was amazing. They get so close to each other that one little mistake could effect the whole group. It was very exciting to see. When we got off the ferry, we made our way up to the mall to get some lunch at Johnny Rockets. It was my first time going to Johnny's and I have to say, those burgers are the best burgers I've had in a very long time. Then we climbed aboard the monorail and it brought us right to the middle of Fun Forest. We got our wristband and headed straight for Windstorm. There was no line (just like every other ride in the park) and so we decided we'd start in the front. The ride was better than I remember it being but man, this thing is still crazy! It has a little bunny hop at the top that gives a little floater airtime but, after that, it's smashed-in-your-seat madness! I'm just glad this thing doesn't have OTSR's. There was one point of the ride where I even found my head outside of the headrest! Overall, I did raise my rating of it to a 5/10 from a 4/10. I don't think I'll ever raise it much higher though. Next, we did the Wild River, the Rainbow Chaser (the kiddie coaster), the Windstorm 4 more times, and the rest of the flats in the park. I think the ride operators here won the award for the worst, and scariest ride operators I've EVER seen. When you come up to a ride, they are usually catching up on some sleep in one of the seats on the ride. You reach the gate and they get up, open it, and watch you sit in your seat. They don't say anything! Then they start the ride. Yeah, I only found a couple that actually check the restraint or buckle before they let the ride go. Plus, on the Zamperla pirate ship, we were able to lift the bar all the way up while the ride was in motion. And once the ride starts, they just glare at you the whole time! It became scary after a while. I think it definitely put a damper on the whole park. We left the park after about a hour of being there. We visited a couple shops on the way down to the ferry and then we hopped aboard and headed home. Overall, the park is OK but I won't go again for a while. I don't like to see any park on the verge of closing, but I can see why this one is. I think if Seattle took up the offer of this (www.thestranger.com/seattle/Content?oid=464307) guy's ideas, Fun Forest could really become something. But for now, it's up to the city. Well... Onto the pictures! More pictures soon. The helix drop thing! I don't even know what to call this, it's just that insane. The little hop that could. Windstorm and all it's twists. Zamperla Galleon with lifting restraints Music Express. First view of the park. Johnny Rockets. The library. Tall. How many crates can you stack on a ship? Blue Angels practicing. That's where we're going.

The last update: And I leave you with a photo of Timberhawk's first drop. Thanks for reading! Timberhawk's turn around. Lumberjack's falls. The naughty kid cage. Lumberjack's nice-lookin' sign. More photos... but first: I forgot about my lunch story! I walked up to Subway and started ordering my $6.50 1/2 foot long and the lady looks at my TPR shirt and starts laughing. She says "Do you think your going to get special permissions just 'cause your wearing that shirt?" I laughed at said "No, no, no, it's a website and I'm just a proud member of it." She laughs again and shows everyone she's working with my shirt. I tried to explain to her that I'm really into theme parks and stuff like that and I found a great site online that I like, so I bought a shirt from it. I ended up talking to her for about 5 minutes. She was really nice but I don't think I could ever convince her that TPR exists. Anyways... onto the pictures. Huss Swinging Ship. Through the pulled down, cut, placed, and nailed trees! Timberhawk. Pony Express?! Where are we again?! "Call the mechanic and he'll move it out of the way, duh!" "OK, ummm.... what do I do if a car stops working?" Hey look PARC! Room for a drop ride! The naughty kid chair. Can't wait! The helix of death kiddie ride. This slide had some steep drops. Watch out for the cone on the dry slide!

Yesterday I finally went to my first theme park since October. It's been such a long off-season, but I made it through alive. I brought my camera along and decided to give you guys my annual Wild Waves update. I guess I'll write a little too; so here it goes: We left for the park at about 9:30 and got there almost an hour later. The weather was a little overcast but it cleared up as soon as we went through the front gate. The first stop was getting my season pass processed and grabbing us a locker. Then we changed, and we were off to the slides. We hit Zuma falls first (The 4 seat family slide) and I was a little disappointed to see that the raft lift had still not been put in. But we still carried our raft up to the top and went on down. It was OK, like usual, but nothing too special. The thing I really liked was the energetic lifeguards. We were crawling up the tower and all of the sudden 5 gallons (at least) of water fell on top of us! We looked up to see a lifeguard leaning over the edge of the handrail with a big smile on his face and a big Gatorade bucket in one hand. We made it to the top and set our tube into the water, and then he screams "WELCOME TO ZUMA!!!” and splashes more water at us. It was sad to find that he seemed to be the only lifeguard in the park that was appreciating his job. We made our way through all the other raft slides, all four green slides, the activity pool, 2 speed slides, 1 hydro slide, and the wave pool in less than a hour and a half. I have to admit that the one hydro slide scares me every time. As you come over the curve of the drop, you look down and see a slope that looks like it could go on forever. But as soon as you know it, you crash into the splash pool at the bottom. It's the best slide at Wild Waves by far. After the slides, we dried off and headed around the lake to the rides. We were going to try the new Disk'o first (since it was new), but someone had just thrown up on it. So instead, we hit the Falling Star first. Then the Disk'o was ready for us. I had no idea what the ride was going to be like, so I was a little nervous. But there was no reason to be! I ended up really liking this ride. Especially when you’re facing straight toward the sky and it yanks you back down to the ground. It's nothing I could do twice in a row though... It's just a *little* too spiny for me and A LOT too uncomfortable for me. Next we just hit some flat rides around the park and worked our way up to Timberhawk. Nothing too special... besides the Kang-A-Bounce! Which is a must ride when coming to wild waves. We had a holdup at the bumper cars, which turned into a 20-minute wait! The ride operator didn't know what to do when one of the cars stopped working. So he called the park mechanic guy and together, they pushed it into the corner. Then he started his speech to us about the ride rules etc. Every sentence started the same way: "OK, ummm.... ". To me, it just seemed very unprofessional, but 20 minutes isn’t too big of a deal. Timberhawk was just Timberhawk. It has two OK hills and the rest are just kind of fun. I did notice that I seemed to like it in the front more than the back. It's usually the opposite. But it seemed like at the top of every hill you would just get slammed out of your seat (in the front), and in the back, you just kind of rolled over them. But I still wouldn't consider this ride anything amazing. We worked our way back down the hill to the Wild Thing. We got into the front seat in less than 10 minutes of waiting. This was my first time in the very front on this ride and I like it MUCH better in the second to back seat. It's smoother, and has airtime down the hill back there. At this point we just did some more flat rides, Klondike, Lumberjack, and a couple more times around Timberhawk. Then, we were all really tired and ready to go home. This park is a workout for me, and I'm a Cross Country runner! Overall, yesterday was a pretty great day. Low crowds, lots of rides, and some sun too! I'm glad PARC added the Disk'o, and I hope they keep adding stuff like this. Maybe even one day, a drop ride! *Wink wink* So... here’s some photos: KANG-A-BOUNCE MADNESS!!! More to come! It seems way bigger than this in real life. Disk'o bottom! Time to try out the new Disk'o! The Falling Star gives a nice view of the park. First ride of the day: Falling Star. Nice kids ride. No more fountain Mandatory fish picture. But the black hydro slide is better! The speed slides are good... The old green slides. "Don't worry lonely footer, the lifeguard said the raft lift is coming..." Whisper: "...last summer." First up, 5 gallons of water falling on your head! By the way, when we went, the line didn't exist. Park map.

Type what you want to say first. Then, when your done, scroll down to the "Add Photo, Video or Other Attachment" section and under that it says "Filename". Click the "Browse" button next to the "Filename" and find your picture/video file then add it. Then add a "File Description/Photo Caption" by just typing what you need to say in there. Then press "Add Photo or Other Attachment". It will preview backward, but it will show them right when you finally post them. Can't wait for the photo's! -

Today, I was in line for the Bumper Cars at Wild Waves and there were two girls about my age in front of me (At this point, we had probably been in line for 10 minutes.) This is a great idea! I love how I feel like a true part of the TPR website when my pictures are actually on the site. But today, when I was trying to add a photo TR to a park, I went into the search mode to find it but I found this 'General Error' instead: "Could not insert search results DEBUG MODE SQL Error : 1062 Duplicate entry '804912688' for key 1 INSERT INTO forum_search_results (search_id, session_id, search_array) VALUES(804912688, 'b537b63248f2377a94c37b81b9dc06f5', 'a:7:{s:14:"search_results";s:68:"17130, 17999, 25025, 35318, 36179, 36457, 36522, 37781, 41484, 45071";s:17:"total_match_count";i:10;s:12:"split_search";a:2:{i:0;s:4:"wild";i:1;s:5:"waves";}s:7:"sort_by";i:0;s:8:"sort_dir";s:4:"DESC";s:12:"show_results";s:6:"topics";s:12:"return_chars";i:200;}') Line : 703 File : search.php" The search was working fine today until I tried uploading some photos, so I'm thinking it has something to do with the index but I could be wrong. Thanks, Odie. -
I have two friends that are obsessed with stuff like this! They just finished their biggest jump which is a 10 foot drop. I've seen it and I wish them luck! I went to their house once and they said "Let's teach him how to bike." Then they convinced me by saying "We'll start you with the small jump." Little did I know, the small jump was 5 feet tall

One of my great friends was there... He made it on four coasters today! He said: "Top thrill - 2+ hour wait Millennium - 1.5 + hour wait Maverick - 2.5+ hour wait Wicked Twister - 1/2 hour wait because it just started running again when he got to it." Then he said he just about gave up after that. Mostly because Mean Streak killed his back the day before. He said he couldn't even breath when it stopped in the break run.

We've been thinking about making the trek down to Oregon for these parks but now, without the 3rd park, we can't decide if it's worth the gas money. What do you think? I've always wondered about that haunted house too... is it a walk through or a ride through? Thanks for the help!
