  1. There is always next year. And now that I've been inside the ride I can certainly make suggestions on how we can improve the tours. And maybe we'll see about adding Log Flume as well! --Robb That would be awesome... I love the log ride there. It is third best of all the log flumes I have been on after splash mountain and Duddley Do Right. I wish I could have been there, the tours really would have reminded me of what Knotts once was.
  2. X2... riding crazy at midnight on Saturday of WCB.
  3. I was standing somewhat near you outside Magic Moments theater right before the group picture. I was gonna come over, but I didn't want to split up with my group for the photo or presentation, so I decided to play it safe and stay with my group. Looking back it was a fairly good decision, to stay with my group, because I am the kind of person who has zero searching ability, I get lost/loose people in my group all the time accidnetally, and I am bad at regrouping.
  4. ^ That's what I was thinking. Also, I demad they open a dinoshark exhibit when the movie is finally made.
  5. ^ She was awesome, that was most likely the same train as I totally remember an awesome female ride op, although she essentially made me loose my voice by cheering, but its all in good fun. Also, I was not even aware Deja Vu was working during ERT, we went probably at around 11 and it was closed. That being said, I am not a big fan of the ride as it always manages to give me a headache, so it was no big deal for me.
  6. Parks almost always soft open. Disney Parks, or at least Disneyland is nororious for it, as I went ti Disneyland the day before the reopening of Space Mountain a few years ago, and it turned out it was open, and we waited in the 2+ hour line. I always try to go to parks I have a pass to frequenly around a new ride opening as it is rather common for it to open, like next year in early 2011 I'll be hanging around DCA quite a but waiting for Ariel to open!
  7. Awesome thread! Can you show us how to create the animated cars with invisible track? I am about to start on a new ride concept(BTW, for those wondering my box with the game came yesterday, so I will be back soon) which is a demolition derby racing/dueling concept. On 2 occasions I want to make the cars appear to colide using zero clearences, and each collision will trigger special effects. I am also trying to time the colissions as one of the effects is an accident that spins the car (mini coaster) into a reverser roller coaster (using track merge) to try to make it look like it spins out.
  8. ^ Same, you were one of the few I recognized, and by the time I recognized you I was pretty much high on the awesomeness that is ERT. Also, I would HATE to walk up to someone and introduce myself and discover that they were not the person I was trying to introduce myself to. I hate mistaking people for someone else, and it makes essentially every situation awkward.
  9. Lol, Elissa, i hope the Terminator in the sky tower was okay. I went up there for the first time at WCB and was documenting the place on my cell phone camera. I totally tripped over the gun like piece in your picture due to lack of paying attention.. I looked around and it seemed ok, and there was an employee up there who asked if it was okay and said he sees it all the time. I swear the tower swayed when I hit the ground, but overall it was pretty funny. And I got a good view of the rather small wooden coaster that pushed its way into my number one wooden spot that very morning, so I was happy. Damn, I am posting from my bed right now, wishing it was a comfortable as a Millennium Flyer Train, those Timberliners had better be great, cause the GCI trains are damn awesome! So are their rides IMO!
  10. I also forgot about a question. Are the hair gell trains on Viper staying forever, or are they coming off any time soon? Arrow loopers, while far from being rare, are no longer being made, so I am anti hair train. ^ Lol, I hate being shy. I was either in front of you or behind you at the beginning of night time ERT on Goliath at like 10. That was you, right? on the ride at around that time, and the ride op gave the entire train a re ride cause we all chanted "one more ride."
  11. I'll ride it tonight after school, but the last picture kind of looks like a wooden tophat. It is not necessarily un realistic, but I dont recomend making a hill that steep commonly because it either means the pacing is way off at the top, or gives red ejector airtime. That being said, the layout is interesting, and no matter how it rides it looks pretty great for a first coaster, altrhough the length of the track slightly worries me as the pacing might be off, the track is huge, which is fine if pacing is not affected.
  12. It's crazy how similar are schedule were. I did not introduce myself for the simple reason I had no idea who you were, cause I recognize the screen name, but not the face, or I would have said hey. My friend for no apparent reason was calling your curly haired friend Nick Jonas, who he does kind of look like from far away. Anyway, what an awesome day, and what an awesome event. If anyone is in California, especially southern California, who has not been to Bash you simply must go. The pictures he took of ERT were like that for everything, and we went on pretty much everything multiple times throughout ERT and got quite a few consecutive re rides on many rides. Anyway, awesome pictures, I'll be sure to say hey next year.
  13. ^ I think everyone had different charter tours. We had a Goliath backstage tour where we got to go under the lift, go by the tunnel for the big drop, and go near the helix of death. After the Goliath tour we rode Colossus, and there were people underneath us, so I am assuming the tour was at around 2:20 as our tour was around 20/25 minutes and was at 1:55. The day was amazing. It was my first ever enthusiast event, and I brough my non enthusiast friends, who also had an amazing time. We rode everything besides Deja Vu during morning ert, but it may have broken down, so we didnt bother, and its not a favorite of mine. We got rerides on Tatsu, and my group was 3 out of the 4 people on the entire train. The scavenger hunt was fun although we did not do to well, especially considering my charter tour was smack dab in the middle of the scavenger hunt. I enjoyed all of the tours, and although some were a little dissapointed by the backstage tour, you got some cool angles and pictures, and the charter tour later in the day more than made up for any dissapointment, as our Goliath tour was awesome. The Q&A was a blast, and it was very entertaining, and I loved everyones enthusiasm throughout, and the way they announced ERT with the black eyed peas song "Good night" I think its called, was a great way to get everyone pumped up. I am glad Ninja is staying, and new flat rides are coming at some point. Evening ERT was the hilight of the day for sure. We went on Riddler at exactly 10, so ERT had not totally started yet. Ran to Goliath and waited four trains, as some of the GP were still in the station. We got on and went around twice thanks to the awesome ride ops. We then went on racing Colossus, then to Batman, whch is insane at night in the front, it feels like its going 1000 miles per hour, CRAZY RIDE! We then ran to Terminator for a ride with the audio, which was awesome and a highlight of the night with Colossus. We then went on Superman twice, and the floater air was great. Then two rides on Tatsu, and one ride on X all during night time ERT. Such a fun day. I want to thank the entire magic mountain staff, Robb and all the people that made registration go so smoothly(we were registered and ready to go with t shirts and everything in less than 5 minutes) as well as Rideworld. I cannot wait until 2011, as this was easily the best day I have ever had in a park anywhere. Such a great day, and I will do knott's next year if I have the money as well!
  14. ^ LMAO!!! Thats awesome. There were not enough of us to row a train. We could probably have stayed on for all ert if we had wanted to.
  15. Also, I forgot to add before, no guarantees, but the height requirement is likely to go down. Don't quote me on it, but it very well may happen in the near future. It kind of sucks they couldn't do the Thomas the Tank Engine trains on Metro, of course this is California, so earthquake violation is important. I forgot to ask about Viper's hair gel train and if it is there forever, oh well, just more incentive to come back next year, not that I needed any in the first place!
  16. Any chance we can get the official answers to the scavenger hunt? I was on team 48, and we did not do to well, especially considering my group had to leave for our charter tour. The scheduling besidses that was perfect, and that was no ones fault as it was an awesome surprise and I got to see some hot Giovanola action, so it was all good. The scavenger hunt was actually really hard and extensive, so it would be cool to see some answers so I can study up for next year. It also made me realize I suck at sodoku, cause I got some random ass answer that eventually we just gave up on. We found some stars on the colosus county fair sign, tatoo signs, as well as guest relations by bugs bunny world, if memory serves, but it was damn hard.
  17. ^^ Ladders suck, if I am on something shaking I get a little nervous, like on the sky tower at WCB I felt it moving and freaked a little. Anyway, its no big deal. In the darkest way ever to comfort someone, if you fall 200 feet the inevitable effect is the same as if you were to fall 300 feet, only if you fall 300 feet you live longer. I believe all of the gigga coasters also have a perfect safety record also, so have a good time and a great ride on I 305, and you'll have a new credit.
  18. Agreed, and worst of all those crazy transitions make it sooooo hard for me to ever even consider a no limits recreation, lol. Seriously, it will be a fine ride, people like Millenium Force, just have fun and go ride I 305, a coaster does not need to be the best in the world to be a lot of fun. I rode X2 last night, not even in my top ten, yet all of my friends number one ride, I still love/loved it. My point being it will be fun regardless.
  19. Racing Colossus was awesome! The racing aspect of the ride made it 100x better. And If they started doing that on a regular basis, Colossus would go from a ride that I would skip almost every visit to a must ride. Much rather have a Racing Colossus than a backwards Colossus. Does the right side win every time, or did it just win for my groups 2 rides? It was awesome though, especially cause we split our group in half during ERT for the race.
  20. FIXED! ^ I totally agree, yesterday was the best day I have ever had at a park, and I got the go ahead from my mom to do both parks next year, as I am assuming that will still be the case, so thats awesome. I had an absolutely amazing time yesterday, and it is so weird to think that 24 hours ago I was either getting off of Tatsu or running to/riding X2 for final night rides. Anyway, Robb, Chris and all the Magic Mountain staff, you guys are all awesome. Shout out to our tour guide on the Goliath backstage tour, sorry, I dont remember your name, but we were the 1:55 group. It was awesome that we got to take pictures in front of the infamous "helix of death" and those will end up on facebook within the next few days. Thanks to everyone involved!!!
  21. ^ true. Not to do what he said, but a launch that abrupt into a hill that steep will cause fatal G force.
  22. Agreed. Just in case it does not get posted for those non participants in the station there was a muffled voice saying "Take the Tunnel, Take the tunnel." The lift hill was (if I heard correctly) a voice that sounded like invader zim saying things like "Why should you be able to ride with no preshow" and "I demand you see the preshow!" Then on the ride it kept yelling "Take the Tunnel" and on the final break run, the audio went something like "We took the tunnel, we took the tunnel, we took the tunnel." It was overall awesome as it was completely customized and very TPR approved. Easily the best day I have ever had at any park. Also, I am kind of dissapointed cause I saw tons of people but I am shy, so a very late hey to the Bebes, Fitch Coaster, Doug and Shannon Barnes, all the mods and Jeff Johnson, and J man aka the Hoodie Wizard. Also we saw Jahan, so I am not sure what was said cause there were people talking to him on the tour, but that was cool. We said hey to Robb during night time ERT, but next year I will actually say hi!
  23. I agree, but that itself is strange, or at leat it is if they use the layout of the road in the picture. It seems like it must be for some attraction, but I wonder what it is for. Also, is the Army man theming just for parachute drop? Cause if it is the same as the DCA version its not a particularly interesting or long ride.
  24. Did you ride the drop tower? Those ones, I believe their ARMS, are awesome. Also, Ring of Fire is pretty fun if you love hangtime.
