Wow! Six Flags does it again! They are two for two on parking lot expansions this year. Hurricane Harbor Chicago looks great. I think ours in NJ looks a little better, but we don't have those sweet looking racing slides (yet), and ours is a seperate gate. I can't wait to get out there this Summer!

The latest word I got from my sources is that construction of the coaster will start in June (footers). With the rate Viper is coming down, it's completely beleivable!

Viper is still coming down fast...basically just the lift and that weird inversion are all that's left. I posted an update over on my site Here's my favorite pic from today:

SFGAdv's Viper is officially coming down to make way for the new INTAMIN woodie, and they aren't fooling around! they started work last Friday, and I've heard it will all be gone by next week. i didn't beleive it until today when I saw how much is down since Saturday. Good news for SFDL- It looks like Viper is being turned to scrap. Here's a picture from Saturday: And here's one from today (Monday): And one of the banged up track: I'll be following the demolition on my site, and I have more pictures of the demolition and some pics of the coaster operating on my new Viper page!

America West flys into Philly every 2 hours, and you can usually get an airfare (roundtrip from CA) for less than $300.

From what I hear, the downtime was less than 1/2 hour.

Ka is opening this week. It's been running fine for the commercial shoot the past 2 days.

Tomorrow and Wednesday are the commercial shoot...it's sure a great time to be an ACE member in New Jersey! 8)

I just got word that dismantling of Viper has begun and at least one train load of riders has been on KK today. I'll have pictures tonight. 8) Update-- New pics are up on my site Here's a couple of previews:

Viper is SBNO, and is rumored to be moving to SFDL next season. Kingda Ka should be opening May 20th now. Media Day has just been scheduled for May 19th, and everything (FINALLY) looks like it's on track to open.

I was there on Saturday as well, and rode Hydra, and was generally unimpressed by it. I found it to be a little rougher than most B&M's, ranking right there with Scream IMO. I didn't like the old couple all along, but I found myself getting a little choked up when they were eliminated. Please, let the rumors be true and let Unchenna and Joyce win!

They say they have to do 100 hours of testing prior to opening.

Looks like May 7th according to my sources (though it's not official yet). They were testing all day yesterday, and are supposed to be testing today as well.

I just got back from SP holder preview night for the Golden Kingdom, and it looks absolutely amazing! The level of detail is beyond anythign SIx Flags has done before, ranking with Busch and (almost) to the level of Disney and Universal! They did a soft opening tonight, with none of the rides or structures open yet, but it looks great. The tigers were just introduced to their new enclosure while I was there and they wre a huge hit with the crowds. I can't wait to see it finished and can't wait to see the show (and ride Kingda Ka!) The weather was cold and raw, but people had a good time anyway 8) Here are a few pics from my website as a teaser, and the rest can be viewed here!
