  1. Who started putting pieces of wood at Son of Beast's grave?
  2. Anyone at the park today? I'm in a War on Drugs shirt!
  3. Wowie, Lightning Run and Storm Chaser are no joke. Storm Chaser is like the sampler platter from RMC. A little bit of everything. All excellent and extreme airtime. Lightning Run was SO smooth! And just like a RMC had crazy transitions with incredible airtime. Cyclos was an endurance test. Man with the heat and the really long cycle, it was intense! One and done. Too much for me. It was incredibly hot today and the park was relatively dead outside the waterpark. No line for Storm Chaser and just a few for LR with one train ops. Yep, weird layout and getting in/out. Great day trip to combo KK with the Slugger Museum and downtown Louisville fun. Still trying to digest what happened on Storm Chaser. Each element got more intense as the ride went along! Holy crap that ride was fantastic. Outlaw Run is still my favorite though. First ride reaction Getting to touch the bats used by Pete Rose, Votto, Jackie Robinson, ARod, and more. It's like the library of famous bats.
  4. Great report! Very hyped for my first BGW visit soon. Thanks for the shot of the beer/prices. Exceptional selection!
  5. How about a Porter airlines theme where you get a free Coke and pretzels with each ride? Throw some prop propellers on the sides of the cars and boom. Brilliant.
  6. June went by so quickly! Happy to see you got to spend lots of time taking in all Tokyo Disney/Sea had to offer. It's really fun to read your takes on the little things the park does better than other Disney parks.
  7. How's 'ol Mach Tower doing these days? Is it usually open day to day or is it still "I'll count on it being down but if it's open that's cool."
  8. I love the deep dive into this very serious topic! Love the photos. I'm still searching for photos/reviews of the swim up bar at CP Shores and I'll post anything if I find useful information.
  9. That first drop looks like it has a nice little kick before it hits the steepest part
  10. But then, soon after... CP loves roller coasters so much that they wanted to give you the thrill of one when potentially buying into this, haha. I wasn't about to let anyone get all wrapped up in the "unlimited" part without knowing that you're $10-15 lost immediately upon buying
  11. I'm so happy they have a second location in River North
  12. Definitely on my "To Do" list. Been looking forward to riding this coaster for a long time! Oh, and if anyone has any food recommendations, I'm looking for good places to eat in and near the park. Probably gonna eat somewhere nearby for breakfast, and then for dinner when we leave. Here's my post regarding dinner: http://themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=51125&p=1863667&hilit=timmy#p1863667 Timmy O'Toole's is right across the street from the park. http://www.timothyotooles.com/gurnee Excellent beer selection with lots of rare stuff on tap frequently and I've never been disappointed by the food. https://s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com/otooles-media/33883/MAIN-MENU-4112018-F-OUTLINED-G.pdf
  13. Upon checking out CP Food Blog to take some notes on Cedar Fair/Point's dining options, I thought I struck gold. Last year CP introduced this re-fillable cocktail drink cup at the Surf Lounge. Immediate question: Where the f*** is Surf Lounge. A) It's in Hotel Breakers. Hm, okay so you can only use it outside of the park. Or at least, I am not sure they'd let you bring it into the park. I think it's likely, since it's bought on CP property and they are very liberal about you drinking beer/cocktails anywhere except on an actual ride Alright, what's it cost? $24.99 for the cup and your first drink and $10 for a refill - only the cocktails at the bar. How much are cocktails usually? $10-$12 Alright you lost me I mean, you'd have to drink almost 100 of them to retain any savings since you'd only be saving 50 cents or so per drink. Wouldn't be for me anyways since I prefer a beer or bourbon, not any of the mixed drinks they offer. Not bad options though! They don't give you sh*t booze, which I thought would be the case. If you're all about souveniers, penny pinching, and fruity drinks this could be for you! I looked all over CP's website and couldn't find anything on it. Has anyone noticed this? Drinks available: The Summer Spectacular (Absolut, Tanqueray, Bacardi Silver, Triple Sec, Lemonade, Strawberry Daiquiri Mix)(320 calories) Tropical Lake Erie (Absolut Vodka, Peach Schnapps, Malibu Coconut Rum, Cranberry and Pineapple Juice)(260 calories) Roarin’ Riptide Punch (Absolut Mandrin, Malibu Rum, Blue Curacao, Lemonade, Sprite, Mint)(380 calories) Sox on the Beach (Absolut Vodka, Peach Schnapps, Orange and Cranberry Juice)(280 calories) Steel Vengeance (Absolut Vodka, Melon Liqueur, Creme de Cassis, Pineapple Juice)(210 calories) Long Island Iced Tea (Absolut Vodka, Bacardi Rum, Tanqueray Gin, Triple Sec, Sour Mix, Splash of Coke)(380 calories) Blueberry Mojito (Blueberries, Lime Juice, Mint Leaves, Simple Syrup, Bacardi Rum, Club Soda)(320 calories) Strawberry Basil Lemonade (Absolut Vodka, Lemonade, Chopped Basil Leaves and Strawberries, Garnish of Lemon, Strawberry)(180 calories) Credit: CP Food Blog. $25 to buy, $10 to refill. Only fruity mixed drinks!
  14. Wow, they're not being quiet about his at all! Pretty excited to see what it turns out to be. Toronto is an incredible city, it's great that CW is getting lots of coaster love! Hope to be there next year but it will be hard to pry myself from the city limits.
  15. While at Kings Island, you overhear two and only two conversations from the GP: 1) High school sports scores/where they're going to college/upcoming games/etc. or 2) The shed, how it's scary, there's a new monster, etc. The shed isn't for enthusiasts, it's for the GP. The station is for the enthusiasts. There are dozens of easter eggs involving KI history, other CF parks, coaster manufacturers hidden (and obvious) in the station! I'm surprised there's still talk about the shed being 'disappointing/dumb' as if there was supposed to be a drop track installed for someone's visit. You all know damn well what's in it and what to expect, haha.
  16. So sad to see that fantastic wooden coaster deteriorating. It was definitely the best in the Dells. We share the same thoughts on the Mt. O coasters. I guess they improved some of Zeus since when I rode it was one of the roughest roller coasters I've experienced in my life Cyclops is epic! Even with the regular PTC lap bars.
  17. The new flat looks awesome! Looks like weather permitting I'm going to shoot for July 5th. Has anyone else gone post 4th of July and can comment on the crowds? Really excited to check out Storm Chaser and Lightning Run. I'm not too worried about crowds, I'll definitely make sure I'm there by opening to go straight to LR.
  18. Seat belt extra tightened doesn't fix old clunky Arrow mine train lapbars slamming into thighs. Yet I love Gemini and have no complaints about it... So I guess for me it's the degree of ejection into the old clunky lap bar. I do enjoy the nostalgia of Magnum - the trains, track style, lift sounds, etc but I think there's a great opportunity to improve the ride with, yeah, new trains. Anything more open to give you more freedom with that unmatched position on the lake would do wonders. It's a tired suggestion but every visit to CP I feel better equipped to enjoy Magnum but come off wondering if the magic seats/tricks are just a joke
  19. Seems like everyone saw Jurassic Park last night. This is the only JP movie I didn't like. Boring, stale, even a bourbon and coke couldn't get me into it. Best part of the movie is the ending I guess since it sets the studio up to produce something creative and original? I don't know.
  20. Yeeeesh they really let it go. Hoping they can get it back to the shape it was originally in!
  21. Did you do this to yourself or was this a prank?
  22. Can't wait to see if enthusiasts complain "3 train ops are slower than 2 trains uwu go back to 2 trains" since that's already been speculated by counting dispatches from the webcam
  23. Really disappointed to hear how the management handled the situation. Looks like a great park but I'd struggle to commit a day there on a busy vacation knowing the cost and absurd effort needed to get on all the rides.
  24. Volcano is open? I thought it's closed and rumored to be down for a while with construction going on around the volcano? Edit: hi I'm just here to back up CB's post
  25. Loving the updates in real time on twitter, but also re-capping them here since I usually miss some posts due to the time difference. Japan looks fantastic, and glad you're all safe!
