Any updates to the Racer will be great. Do we know what team worked on Racer 75? That was running like brand new. Whoever was behind that project needs to be sent out to any wooden coaster that needs a refresh because it ran beautifully - smooth and had some airtime. But let's be real. We know what we all want to return the most... BANSHEE ICE CREAM!!! (credit pintrest) -
STORY TIME. Gather 'round everyone. With our quick visit to SFA, a handful of us weren't going to bother with some of the infamous coasters and decided to check out the quirky water park. Overall, it's a really solid water park with some old school and unique slides! But this isn't just any water park, this is Six Flags America's water park. There was only 1 Flash Pass station working in the water park out of 5 we encountered, and it took us over an hour to actually find it. We put the Tornado in the queue and went over when ready. The FP perk lets you go to the front of the "get your tube here" line, but the employee directing people to come get the tube is across the pool, leaving you to ....kindly ....cut the line/explain to the GP that you have a FP and you're next. You can imagine how well that's received! Thankfully we got eye contact from the life guard across the way who waved us over to get the tube. Well, this wasn't your ordinary ProSlide cloverleaf tube, it was a little....flat The guy shrugged it off when we asked if we're cool to use it and we weren't about to stand around and take more heat from the rest of the people waiting in line for tubes...so away we go! (And we're still trying to hold it up in this picture, so just imagine it a bit more saggy) Once Chase and I get to the top and set the tube down in the water, the guard up top looks at us funny and we burst out laughing. She says "When you get to the bottom, tell (insert guy at the exit pool's name here) that (insert girl at the top's name here) said 'PULL THIS TUBE OFF TO THE SIDE!'" So, how did it go? There was just enough air in the tube to keep me @$$ from riding on the bottom of the slide, but there were a couple points where I thought I might break my tailbone, haha. It was a great ProSlide Tornado and we got some serious altitude on the side of the funnel. It was slightly terrifying, but endlessly funny and absolutely one of the most memorable parts of the trip. And yes, the guard at the exit pool laughed and put the tube out of commission when we got to the bottom and relayed the message.

Wait, were they leaving that particular car empty instead of filling it with normal guests in the absence of tour participants? It drives me nuts when parks do that sort of thing. Busch Gardens Williamsburg and Hersheypark were doing the same and it's so disappointing to see. Someone needs to make a change. It's frustrating for anyone in line, working the ride, or paying extra for the skip the line opportunity. I hope all parks make a change soon. -

Yukon, eh. I'm disappointed there is no mashed potato splash down. Or the train doesn't mash potatoes on the dive. Looks like fun! -

I went the same dates in 2016 and there were still 30+ minute waits for many of the coasters all day. Fast forward to 2018.. This is crazy because I went Wednesday and half of Thursday either the same week as you or the week before in 2016 and the place was dead. Maverick was a station wait all day. There was a threat of storms so that could have kept people away, but we never saw a drop of rain and it was sunny most of the day with darker clouds rolling across the lake. Hmmm the week I went was the last week of daily operations. The wait times for most of the coasters fluctuated throughout the day but Maverick and Valravn were consistently 30+ minutes. We had brilliant weather each day outside of one massive 2 hour weather explosion monsoon thing. -

Budget for FP because it seems like CP's getting busier this month, and you will absolutely save time on many of the coasters if it's busy. If not hooray, extra Thirsty Pony bucks. Go through the last 10 pages or so and you'll see plenty of reviews of Breakers Express. You don't have anything to worry about. -

Do you remember if any of the sandwiches can be a kids meal? That's great to know if that's true! Both times I've been to Melt I was super hungry and still couldn't finish my whole sandwich! You probably can for an upcharge since you can add a number ingredients for free and some for extra. You'll just have to see next time. I was content with the regular grilled cheese. -

We had an awesome server at Melt that suggested us to order the "Kindergarten" aka half sandwiches aka kids meal(?) if we weren't starving and warned us how huge the sandwiches are. So my bill ended up being a kids meal and two beers -

Glad they turned out well! I kept seeing "Turkey Hill" ice cream everywhere and not Hershey, so I never bought in since Turkey Hill is a Kroger brand ice cream. The Rita's at Hershey was offering Italian ice flights (4 different flavors) and you could add custard for 10 cents! Yes. 10 cents. I've had Rita's a bunch before, but they had unique flavors like Sweedish Fish, Hawaiian Punch, Passion Fruit, and Grape! They were all delicious. -
Top/Favorite Hyper Coasters
PKI Jizzman replied to boldikus's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Well after the latest trip, I added: Apollo Skyrush Superman: ROS (SFA) Rerode for the first time in a while: Magnum Goliath (SFOG) Before the trip, I have enjoyed all of the B&M hypers the same, but Apollo's Chariot is now the only B&M hyper that didn't do much of anything for me. I'm still baffled as to why. It has all the things I love: old school pre drop, great setting/interaction with the terrain, helix, funky twisty bits. Maybe it was because of how ungodly hot/humid it was and the ride is very long. Or the other rides at BGW were more memorable. Skyrush was arguably the MOST memorable coaster in recent memory I've experienced Superman at SFA was great! I only rode in the front seat because it was a walk on, and although the first big hill and straightbitstraightbitstraightbit leave you puzzled, the sensation of speed and rest of the elements were lots of fun! I still don't believe in the seatbelt trick so go ahead and throw coat hangers at me or whatever you deem necessary. Seriously, it just puts the clip of the seatbelt right into your middle! BUT! I found a spot I really like - 5th car middle row. I will be happy riding there for the remainder of my life, it was a fun ride. Still. It would be incredible to ride through that circuit along the lake with a more open style of train (yeah yeah very original idea, I know). Goliath was just as much fun as I remembered. Intense helix, all that. Ranking: I'd like to re-ride all of the hypers I've been on. -

I, too, made the unforgivable decision to get the turkey burger because they were... sold out of "salad" to do buffalo chicken salad (it was noon). It was easily the worst theme park food I have taken a bite of. It was gray, it was ...juicy in the most disgusting way imaginable, and I'm certain there was 11% turkey that made up the patty. I happily ate all of the fries that came with it because they hardly had any taste, which I was totally fine with after taking a bite of the turkey burger Glad we're both still alive. F yeah Twisted Cyclone and I couldn't believe how fun Blue Hawk is now! -

Cedar Point has done a great job with improving the food/bev stands over the recent years, which was department of the park that needed improvement the most in my opinion. While no one is happy with the locker/phone situation, the big issue that I noticed over 3 days at the park are the bathrooms. Dear lord they're stinky, messy, old, don't have paper towels, no hot/cold water option, and some don't even have doors to keep in air conditioning in or keep the bugs out (!!!!). It's not just a "needs cleaning more often" issue. I really hope they concentrate on this part of the park soon. I'm not sure if this hasn't been addressed yet because of the plumbing beneath + sand and how difficult that might be I have no idea about the level of difficulty there. Of all the parks on the trip and the parks I've visited in recent memory, I can't think of a worse example. They're on Ukrainian Village grungy dive bar levels. Hoping it wasn't as bad in the women's restroom! Other than that it was a fantastic visit to CP that I'll go into detail about later! -

You did the Louisville visit right! I did just about the same trip a month ago and I agree with everything you said. Food and drinks are way above average, the Slugger Museum is great, KK is a quirky park with some stellar rides. Glad you enjoyed your time there! -

On the Whyte Lightning poster in the park: "Durable, dependable, guaranteed over 137 miles." 137 miles = 1 minute 37 seconds for the ride time? -
San Fran is such a great city with so many beautiful sights. Glad you checked out AT&T park, it's a work of art! Great America definitely has some alluring coasters! Looks like Cedar Fair is doing a good job maintaining the ambiance of the park. I was not able to pry myself from the city to make the trek down there when I visited but I really want to next time.

Great day at SFOG! Highlights: -Justice League was in great shape. The guns vibrate like a Playstation/XBOX controller which help you know when you're shooting which helps improve your score. That feature is not on STL or Chicago's. Fire was on and a nice surprise! Everything else was working. -Bluehawk was not bad at all! They kept repeating "brand new experiences, smooth ride, etc" over the speakers in the queue which made me skeptical, but the new trains help a ton. -Scorcher continues to be the one stand up that I enjoy. -Skybuckets were a great way to get around the park. -Staff energetic and being as efficient as possible. -Log Jamboree delivers an acceptable amount of wetness. -Monster Mansion is a great dark ride. -Mindbender still kicks ass. -Twisted Cyclone is f*cking amazing and had me laughing from start to finish from first ride to last ride. It's really intense but also re-rideable in my opinion. I liked it more and more every ride and the progression of elements just kept getting wilder as the ride went on! Get out to SFOG this summer!!! -

We all know about the crazy weather at CP, I mean what happens when a big storm whips up in the matter of 30 minutes? Having to run to the lockers to get your valuables or trying to find your group before a storm hits without a phone sounds like a nightmare. I'll keep adapting to the rules I guess but damnit I got a glasses strap just for CP and now that seems to be an enigma -

$10 for an access anywhere locker? Yes please. Will gladly use that and share with friends. What a great deal. It's very exciting to read comments about how short lines are for ride outside of Frontier town. Anyone want to share how many rides they racked up on Millennium during early entry?
