No, no, no....Wes is right. The ACE landmarks are completely pointless.....and totally stupid....just like ACE! Racer ranked #100 out of 179 woodies in the Mitch Hawker poll. Now tell me again, WHY does this coaster deserve recognition over those other 99 woodies? I agree that Racer IS a fun ride, and it's probably my favorite woodie in the park (never was much of a Beast fan), but still..... --Robb Racer is the best woodie in the park right now. It's a bit shaky, but still has airtime....the Beast is just a ride through the woods [thank God it has new wood] but it's still fun. ACE is just meh to me; a club where 50$ will get you free food when they stop at your park...and maybe a few photo ops. But the awards, it's nothing negative, just something the public looks at as a HUGE and incredible honor. To us, most people don't care. Racer should be a bit higher in the polls since it has new wood in areas of the ride.

Actually, I think SOB would make a great interrogation tool for the US government with the Gerstlauer trains. We could find out Al-Qaeda's plans for the next 10 years by forcing their operatives that we catch to marathon SOB until they talk. And with those G-trains believe me they'll talk alright. ^Hahaha Good to see some progress after a long break. It's like it is not ever there without hearing its deafening chain lift and screams of pain.

Two great parks, riding the best three (IMO) at Cedar Point, and the stuff at Kennywood sounds like an awesome day to me! Nice pics, James

Eh, well Racer actually has some meaning because they are the oldest coasters at KI, along with Beastie (FOC)...and I remember reading in some book a while back about it restarting the coaster craze. It was like the biggest and fastest when it opened.

I've had a lot of good rides on Face/Off, but after riding it 3 times in a row in the front seat, my stomach hurt. Rock 'n Rollercoaster was really cool and smooth.. BORG Assimalator was kinda rattly this year, but far from rough. Firehawk is smooooooth!

I'll just kindly say I disagree with your views on the awards.

Silver Star looks like a giant, awesome ride! Minus the trims on seemily every hill.

I read in the paper the other day that the Racer at Kings Island was decaired an ACE Landmark on Sunday during their Coaster Con XXX. Don't mind the XXX, it means 30......well I think it said tomorrow it will be given that plaque to put up infront of it. It's cool to have two ACE coasters, and one previous (Beastie). Atleast it had some track work over the winter so it is re-rideable!

I had seen those security guards checking some car wayyyy back in the lot when I left one time. Sorry to hear about such a bad day. When I was there a few weeks ago, they were checking every kid who looked around the hight restrictment. I do think you should give the park a second chance, but I understand one bad trip after not being at the park since 2004 can influence a bad look on the park. How did you like the rides?

^Yea, I really hate how you don't have much access to Firehawk. Not many ways to take pics of it besides infront and in line. Both trains and stations around two? Hmm...I was on break and I couldnt see it all day. One kid said he rode twice with a 15 minute wait before and after it rained...he was talking about a 'different ride on Firehawk' so maybe he was referring to different stations. They need to get this problem fixed.

^I still don't know why everyone says this is a rough, headbanging ride. Sure, there are a few in the front. But not as bad as Face/Off. After riding in the front, I get a few bashes. In the back you aren't thrown into them. Still my favorite part of the ride. Best vertical loop in the park. Firehawk has the best helix. Red Train < Yellow Train Sun sets on IJST See anything different in this picture? TPR gets a pretty picture. Carowinds on Friday. Top Gun bliss here I come....damn I hope my camera will work.

I'm off today. I had a +.05 variance at the end of the day Vortex's thing was an error. omgomgomgomgomgsorry So yea, Zephyr is a classic. Oh yea, Firehawk....still doesn't know which train to run. Red was broken, now fixed; yellow was operational, now parked. Slow-mo fly to lie was cool Flight of Fear in the backseat seemed kinda vibratey. They seem to have a different intro every time I am there.

Pics from today Firehawk was running the red train (the one that was broken on friday) and that was it. The yellow train (was only one working on Friday) was parked in the other station. Hooray one train op. IJST - one ride Flight of Fear - One ride TR:TR - one fun ride Vortex - 2 awesome rides. The front is really jerky....the back kicks ass! Heed thy word! Racers are still a great ride at over 40 years old. Vortex is 20 years old and showing little signs of aging...or staking! A little shakey at the bottom, but still pure fun! Ride Vortex and tell me there isn't airtime there. Rare full lift shot for those who care. After watching Vortex run 1000 times while working, you really wana loop the loop. Gotta ride IJST when there is a 5 minute wait. Still think it's a very fun ride.

Your Three Point Challenge has those prizes?!?!? LMAO! Here at KI, we only have basket balls and jerseys. The usual high score is 10 points. Nice TR, Dominator still looks superb.

Rock 'n Rollercoaster is awesome once insid the building. Flight of Fear: The whole area around it is really cool with their fake 'alerts'. The cheezy alien video is funny and the props and lights used inside really make it easy to wait inline. Oh, especially with the air condition. Worst: Firehawk. No shade, not close to the ride like BORG's was;Although there were a few cool signs.

Yea...that video kinda rubbed me the wrong way...and if I could comprehend spanish better, I could read a review. I guess that guy was on the very outside edge with one of those cameras with a 2megapixel video recorder built in. The drop out of the launch looks great and zero-g looks great. Floorless trains seems to be an obvious plus.

The ride looks just okay to me...just a bunch of twists and turns with a barrel roll thrown in and drop out of the launch. It doesn't look bad, just not somthing I would look at and say "OMG! That looks amazing! Get me on that now!" I'll wait for some reviews to come out.

^ Yea, that's what I would want to see most; using both stations. Not only will it speed the line for possble re-rides later in the day, I think it would be cool to see. I think a silver train would cool really awesome flying around on the dark red track. Hm. Well, that -WAS- the first time I saw them running two trains while open to the public; so maybe they will be using both stations today or tomorrow. Some people are still in school....so maybe workers is an issue? I wouldnt that would be the case because it's the new ride...top priority, right? Ouch, sorry to hear such a horrible story at a Disney Park. On friday when I was in the 1 1/2 hour line (one train op) for Firehawk, there were two kids who cut the entire line. The line was controlled by an op letting a certain amount of people into the station after giving them water. Well, the ids decided to jump over the gate to the station, right after the amount of people were let through. I tried to yell at the op to tell him those 10 year old kids were cutting the line, but other people in line were telling ME to shut up! It's a frustrating one train op, move 5 steps every minute, 95* out, and there are kids cutting the line and people are telling ME to stop complaining. ...

^ Yes, lift is almost parallel to Racer's Lift. I got pleeenntttyyy of sun in my face when I rode on Friday.
