  1. This would be awsome. Would love this. Hey Robb, have you looked into something like this at Kings Island or is this for Six Flags parks only? Would love a walk back of the Beast.
  2. -HN attendance list- 1. Nick (angryemobeaver {actually DropZone99 on every other site}) 2. Adam (spaceace12) 3. Nathan (kumba830) 4. Joel(10ryansmith) I cant wait for this. I really hope that the Timberliner passes this Thursday. I really want to see the difference in the ride of the three trains.
  3. First off this is "spitball" question. Would it be possible to extend Flight Deck's layout? Like make the lift higher and have it go around SOB or something like that. S&S Power has to be able to do this right? They wouldn't have fire everyone from Arrow, would they? Again, this is theoretical, I know tha lt this would not happen but could it? Like in the way of accualling changing the ride, not the possiblilty that Cedar Fair would accually do this.
  4. ^They have several rides that are situated around all of the larger rides. For example, if memory serves, there is are "kiddy" areas right next to Raven and Ledgend, and Voyage has the dark ride next to it. You will also find some flats that are close to the coasters as well. And there is the whole HoliDog area in the back if you have little ones (I am the oldest of eight with the youngest being two so I'm in this area alot when I go with the family). All the none riders with be perfectly occupied, no worries.
  5. I like the entrance to Kid Kingdom but all the flowers that are all the same look horrid IMHO. Add some other colors or different flowers there. (Also on the little knoll) Other than that, it looks great. Cant wait for Invertigo, looks great.
  6. I agree, ride Beast see what you think. The Beast trims are very, very noticable. They are on there some bad that you are thrown forward if you are in the back half of the train because the first trim is at the crest of the first hill and the second is at the vey bottom of the 'drop' that is covered. The only trim that I have come across that is needed is again on the Beast. The trim going down the second hill into the cover helix makes that part of the ride acually enjoyable, but that is the only one. Trims IMHO are crap, if the park wanted something that is not going to tear itself to pieces, design it that way.
  7. ^ I hope not. That would mean that the trains would be even later than they are now, maybe even next season. I hope that some maintance worker screwed up and hit it with something or a fallen branch on the route hit it. I wonder if some of the extreme bankings and quick transitions are already taking there toll on the trains?? I really hope that they get the trains up and running before June 1st, Im going for my birthday and was hoping to ride these. All well, have to wait and see.
  8. Dumb Question, might have already been answered but, where is the chain for the lift going to go?? I dont see any "groove" or something of the like. Are they going to bolt it to the top of the ledger of something?? Anywho, I really hope that this is going to work and that we see other coasters getting this treatment in the future. (mind immediatly goes to Mean Streak) Anyway, this looks really interesting.
  9. ^ It looked like the had to lean forward to touch the track and you won't be able to do that pinned in by the restraints (hopefully). I love the new trains, but I'm a bit sad that I can't ride in the PTC trains before they are "retired" for Voyage.
  10. ^^ Did they change the entrance To FoF because on last Sunday the entire station was full. I really can't remember if there were five or six trains, but Whem it went through the brakerun, the entire train was on it with one car off. I'm not that much help but I hope it helps a little.
  11. Oh, wow. Those look better than I thought that they would. Lovin' that blue. I like that lap bar idea, does anyone know if there is going to be a seatbelt? Sorry if that was asked already but I really hope not. I thought that the trains wouldn't be ready till later? Or did I miss something??
  12. I would love to see one go into Holiday World but at the moment they one have one steel coaster, the kiddie coaster in the HoliDog (or whatever his name is) area in the rear of the park. Other than that, all the coasters are wooden. Dollywood would be my answer. I would love to see one of these things intertwined with Tennessee Tornado.
  13. ^ Exactly. SoB is not in some random park in the middle of nowhere. A lot of people (a lot of poor people) have had the chance to ride this. I personally only know about four out of like fifty people in my family (my HUGE family) that would go on this ride and those four people don't like Diamondback, so they are just crazy anyway. On the conformity thing, why would anyone want to "fit in" with there opinions for this ride? It was horrid in the end, IMO. I (and most people that i can think of) could care less what others think about this ride, we have our own opinions and they happen to be the same. I for one loved this ride when the loop was in and they had the original trains. Now that they had those trains from Hurricane and they took the loop out, it went to the dogs.
  14. ^^ Ya but the Texas Giant rehab is $10 million and it is what, half the size of SOB? Meaning that the cost to do the retrofitting would be roughly $15 to $20 million? That's just stupid IMHO. Also, wouldn't they have to create more track and supports if they take the rose bowl out, which would cost them even more? It just sounds like that anyway that you look at it, SOB is going to cost around what they got Diamondback for if you changed the track or layout. I'm all for the return of the loop but I dont think that that would happen because the loop was taken out because of the stress on the track that couldn't or wouldn't be fixed? Or did I miss something? To save it, I think that all new trains are needed, designed for just this coaster. Sure they would be several million but I would be great to keep the rose bowl because I think that it reminds me of the Beast and that helix. Would the new trains going on The Voyage work or millennium flyers? The ride now is just crap but if they added the loop back into the equation, then I think that it should be saved. Sorry for the rant, just finished graduation invites.
  15. On the issue of the lady and the kid, all they have to stop you from going up the exit and passed the onride photo stand, is a waist high gate that even a child could climb over. Good example, on Sunday, several people were seen in the station of SOB, and they got out of there without the staff even knowing that they were there. Question, never really noticed before but were the trains for SOB stored in a shed somewhere or was it like The Beast and stored in a open aired shed? I ask because when I was there on Sunday, I couldn't see any of the trains. I love that SOB is hopefully being taken out, but I hate that The Beast had been TAMED. TAMED I tell you. All the damn trims that they have on that ride is ridiculous. The have one on the FIRST hill, then one in the track that is covered(at the very bottom of that), and then one on the DROP going into the death helix. I agree with the one on the drop into the helix of death, but the other ones seem to stupid. It was a great ride when it started to rain and the only trims that were working well enough were the ones in the cover area, but when it was not raining, and it pains me to say this, but the ride is not worth the effort.
  16. You missed nothing but a head and back ache with SoB. Park is better without it. I'm glad that you liked the park though. The Beast and Diamondback are insane in the pitch black, best night rides after The Voyage. I can't wait till Sunday, I get to go and hopefully get to ride them in the dark. You need to ride Diamondback and Vortex in the dark, there not as good as Beast but they are great!! Question, were the trims on the Beast extremely noticeble? Last year they were when I went the last couple of times last year. Anywhy, nice report, glad you had a good time.
  17. This would be awsome. That would be my choice as to the movies for a coaster. I like the idea of going 60mph through a tunnel like the one in the last movie.( Were they cross the border into Mexico) I've had this talk with my mother and the one that she really wants would be something like the mummy with National Treasure. She said somehing about it and it thought that it was a great idea. We also talked about a mine train styled to Spirit and a vertical launched coaster like Wicked for an Iron Man themed ride. I still like the idea of launching into a tunnel with the other train next to you and then having the trains "hop" over one another to simulate the movement from one lane to another.
  18. Great, now I have to deal with the sister going on and on that SoB was the best ride in the park and it not being open is the worst thing that KI could have done (she makes me ride the death coaster every year that we went, like 8 times, usually right in a row because there weren't any people in line). I can now enjoy KI instead of hating my life when I go. On the B&M Invert thing, something like Afterburn would be phenomenal. That is the best invert that CF has, out of the ones that I have been on. But I also agree that they just opened Diamondback and it will likely be a couple of years before they get anything majorly large. Anywho, I can now tell the parents that I am looking forward to the KI trip this Sunday.
  19. That turnaround looks painful. The transition from on hill to the other is too small (to my untrained eye). Other than that it looks great.
  20. I really dont care if there are OTSR out lapbars, at least there is a coaster to ride. If people are going to complain about the restraints than I agree with CorkscrewFoley, the less people in line the better.
  21. Like it has been said before, people need to be evaluated and licenced before they can have a child. China is correct in this department, IMO. I have 7 siblings between 2 houses (parents split and both remarried) and I am the oldest of them all and it sucks, but my biological parents are teachers (one teaches 11th grade math and the other teaches 6th grade science) and my two step parents are district managers for American Eagle and Starbucks. So they have the experience to handle that many kids. Or I have to deal with the little brats.
  22. Just signed up! I am going to use this everywhere that I can and I hope that there is going to be a lot more included. That is wierd that you people have not recieved the confermation email yet, I got my is like two minutes?!
  23. Hooray!! I can tell my parents that they are wrong and I am right!!! I am really looking forword to this and I am going to be missing school, so it is even more exiting.
  24. The photo looks like it could be a real background, but the actual coaster is a rendering. I have done this with my Revit and Inventor projects, easy enough.
  25. I wonder when this is going to start to test. The other Intimidator as been testing for almost a month or longer and doesn't this open roughly at the same time as the one is the Carolina's? They only have less than a month to test this and then tweak anything that they don't like. With the picture that shows the first car of the trains at the top of the hill i will assume that they have already done the pull through, or are close to being done, but when are we actually going to see this thing in action? Im going to spring break (the first full week in April) and the parents are trying to trash the vacation because they think that the main ride is not going to be ready. I keep telling them that they are stupid and that they need to relax but they don't listen, typical attitude of the parents. Sorry for the rant, but please tell me that this is going to open on time so that I have the chance to tell my parents off again.
