  1. Any weekday in May is pretty good. If you must go on a weekend, Sunday is the best option. Avoid summer and Halloweekend Saturdays like the plague if you want to get a lot of rides in. I have seen capacity crowds on Halloweekend Saturdays in 30-40 degree temperatures.
  2. For the small increase in total price, definately bump your ticket up to 10 days. Buying anything in between 4-10 days is pretty much a waste unless you plan to never come back. I would also add in the 5 extras. That will give you access to some killer water parks and essentially take your ticket up to 15 days. The "no-expire" and park-hopper option become a no-brainer at that point.
  3. I have never bought into that Wood is Cheaper than steel to maintain theory for many of the same reasons that Jeremy mentioned. Also, if steel coasters were so cheap to maintain, why does it seem that they re-sell so cheap and nobody wants to buy them?
  4. He must have offered a competitive oil-derrick rebuilding bid.
  5. More great videos from "CoasterDad" have been posted over at CoasterFanatics.Com. This group includes: (2) Riverside Commercials (5) Great America and SFGAm Promos (2) SFMM Ads - Hysterical! Check em out and post your thoughts! http://www.coasterfanatics.com/sec_videos
  6. Damn! I have seen that thing a thousand times. I know that I have to of at least seen you. The last sighting was at Red Robin last Sunday. As for plates the possiblities are endless ...
  7. Which girlfriend? The one you ditched? Anyways ... it has been a while since my last "picture" post, so here we go. "F**k all you guys with your fancy beers!" said Crazy Dave. "I drink my beer from a plastic cup!" Our next beer was the Lancaster Milk Stout. A very good stout with a very modest finish. We also had the bottle of Lagunitas. This beer was definately up there with the Dogfish IPA and Three Floyds Alpha King (Two of my faves). After sampling the bottle chill with the dog on top of the fridge until a place is found on the "Beer Wall" for t Jeff was diggin' on the Hibernation Ale. Next up was a bottle of Great Divide's Hibernation Ale. This beer was very excellent. Smooth with a chocolate malt compliment. Tonight was pool league night, so we all headed over to John's place afterwards. The first beer of the night was a tasting of Wally's Holiday Golden Lager Beer. Not too bad, but it just doesn't have that "craft" taste. Still, a very tasty beer. Wally gets his own shelf. Well ... he did have to share it with a bottle of Arogant Bastard and Rogue Chocolate Stout, but I think they are worthy neighbors. Another addition to the fridge this weekend was courtesy of Northampton Tom (DorneyDude). Muchos Gracias for the Flying Fish, Lancaster and Weyerbacher! Now time to get them in the "Basement Beer Fridge of Doom" Yay! The killer package has been unwrapped! Obviously, Wally has noticed my love for all things Pale Ale. ... and Wally has great taste in packaging material! A well put together package it was. All of the beers were individually wrapped ... The package came last Friday, but since I was busy getting my EastCoaster thang on, I wasn't able to open it till Sunday.
  8. No Problem // Closed
  9. This one is for all the haters.
  10. For the guidebooks, you can always try calling 1-800-Best-Fun (I think?)
  11. I thought that was the only real bad call of the game. You are confusing feet with the football. You MUST come down with two feet ... period. Unless of course, you are pushed out. The pass interference is interesting, because the Steeler initiated contact. But like they always say, two wrongs don't make a right. The receiver cleared extended his arm to 90 degrees. Didn't help that he was also right into of the ref. Ok. We got cha!
  12. Thank you for making a steel city boy feel welcome in your home. Next year, i will have to plan on Saturday night because it just looks like too much fun.
  13. Nice thread. I am going to the fridge now to get some Gouda for ya! Like Derek said, only a "pixel" of than ball needs to cross the front edge of the paint. It wasn't pretty, but it was a touchdown. I thought that Jeremy Stevens played a pretty good game. It was unfortunate that he had to drop the last pass of the game with Farrior and Porter standing right over top of him.
  14. ^ It is kind of bizarre to see those beers being consumer 5 hours away from where I left them 2 days ago. So sorry that I couldn't make the second night of the beer fest. After grabbing a bite to eat in route, I still didn't get home till 2:30am. Thanks for making a stranger feel welcome. Looking forward to the rest of the pictures and a trip back to Northampton!
  15. ^ Adding to that ... I can confirm that it will not open in 2006. The reason that they stated was "maintenance". No further details were given.
  16. Been awhile since I posted some shots so here goes nothing ... Now it is time to clean the ol' palette. A Dogfish Shelter Pale Ale should do the trick. A nice pint glass of Bell's Java Stout. I love beer and I love coffee and I love this stout! Next it was time for some coffee ... I mean beer. I willl have to agree with the majority and declare that the old Hefe is a very drinkable beer Wait a sec. We're missing something. There we go! Instead, it was a nice glass of the "Beer Thread" classic. Paulaner Hefe! A Hopback glass, but unlike Derek, I don't have any Troeggs to put in it Quite tasty actually and one of the better winter brews Last weekend I finally gave the Snow Cap a day in court
  17. Your not the only one Kip. I really enjoy Anaconda and find it to be one of the smoother Arrow loopers. Sometimes I wonder if people forget that these rides are ROLLERCOASTERS!
  18. If you will be in the Allentown area this weekend and would be interested in partaking of some fine malted beverages check out this thread: Anyone heading to EastCoaster?
  19. Hello everyone, Just curious who all is planning on heading to EastCoaster this weekend. If you are staying close to the airport and would be interested in having some fine beverages (Over 21 only) whilst BS'ing and watching some killer coaster videos, just let me know. 2 friends and I have booked a large suite and would welcome the opportunity to meet some of TPR's finest.
  20. First time I looked at this thread and ... Good God! As an artist myself, I can really appreciate the work you put into developing this concept. For your age, you are well ahead of the curve when it comes to this sort of thing. If you get your work into the right hands, your future will be a bright one.
  21. Right Arm (Radius) 2X First time it was me Second time it was the doctor (Stupid re-setting)
  22. 3Floyds is THE pale ale of choice for this BeerFanatic! Adam, if you dig the Apricots and haven't tried it yet, Dogfish's Aprihop is a nice selection.
  23. ^ I am game. I would very much like to tour the "hippie" brewery.
