Nürburgring launched coaster
Shockwave replied to thomas2's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
According to the BBC covering the German Grand Prix, the official opening run should be made later today with Michael Schumacher as the first rider. -
Nessaja - Scooter. This is Bruno's fault.

Bruno was fucking hillarious. Just goes to show what a bunch of insecure naive retards the world still has. The King Osama bit took some balls though.

Looking at the shots and footage from the German Grand Prix first practice session, there's no action on the coaster front as yet. -
"Lazer" becomes the first IKEA coaster

I'm really excited about riding this in less than 3 weeks! I fell in love with Schwarzkopf rides at Flamingoland when they had those two awesome rides (Dreier Looping and Wiener Looping), and I'm glad this one is still kicking about. Roll on Hamburger-Dom! -
Honestly, I'd say while some places were better than others, all the parks had nice little quirks to them. And you do have an awesome go-kart track at Power Park!

Great photos Robin! Nice to meet up with you again, it's been a while since the last time I saw you. Tusenfryd and Liseberg were some great days. -
^He's talking about fitting some kind of side mounted piece of metal that wouldn't effect the spring tension but would keep the idiots from going too far. C'mon Dave, everyone knows what that is!

Looks like a cool concept ride, not something I could see catching on though. -
Gullivers Milton Keynes
Shockwave replied to dubaidave's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Dave, if you haven't got a young kid with you, they will not let you in to the park. I've been to the park previously after an organised walk around with the general manager, but this required a phone call in advance. Honestly, it's my least favourite of the three Gullivers parks - it's the smallest one, and feels very cramped in places. But it's themed very nicely, and does its job for the young ones with a good mix of things to do. -
Six Flags Magic Mountain Terminator Salvation: The Ride
Shockwave replied to robbalvey's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Wow, they really put on a great event there. Looks like a winner for Magic Mountain. Thanks for all the updates Robb, I'm gonna have to get myself back to Cali soon and try it out! -

Best post of the topic so far! That said, I don't mind the occasional comedy relief that these Youtube vids provide. But most of them are pretty terrible don't by people who haven't got a clue about what they're talking about. -

La Ronde's "Le Monstre" Gets Stuck
Shockwave replied to dandaman's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^The article doesn't confirm that though, so it sounds like it was somewhere else around the track where the access to escape in an emergency needs some extra assistance. But yeah, slow newsday or what! -

I had a really good visit back in late 2007 as well. Sounds like Port Aventura haven't quite got up to speed yet on the operations front this early in the season - bit poor really, it's been open about 2 months already I think. Now maybe that's just a Spanish thing (remember the scaffolding on Tornado at Parque de Attractiones in 2006?), but there's no excuse for a big resort like that. Glad the rest of the day made up for the bad operations. -
Thanks for clearing that up! And Really? Do we really want to inflict that sort of pain on people?? lol!! Absolutely. The world needs to know what a terrible ride it is.

Great photos Divv! I love the way they still brand it as Scotland's theme park. No wonder Ewan MacGregor had that rant in Trainspotting - he must have bene to M&Ds an hour before they got off that train! Chrissie, I think M&D stands for Matt and Douglas, the two Taylor brothers who own the park. I honestly think that if they had kept the corkscrew in Tornado it would be bottom of Mitch's poll. It's still pretty terrible without it that said. And they've reduced the height limit to 1.5 from 1.6 so now even more people can get the crap beaten out of them! I actually hope this ends up on a TPR tour one day so we can show it up for the god-awful ride it is!
