  1. I got an email also, wasn't sure if we were allowed to tell others so I kept quit but I guess its okay since ever one else is telling.
  2. I also find it strange they used NL. I wonder if because of theme moving the date they couldn't do a real animation in time. They definitely not the first park to use NL. I am surprised abut some of the views of the ride. A 97 degree drop and 85MPH is not a small ride, also what about the unique elements it has that no other coaster in the US have. But then again maverick was at any other park it would have gotten so much fame when it was announced ...
  3. I hope its not true that SF is scraping all 3 Deja Vu, they seamed like such a thrilling ride. Really though take out a great ride to put in a family ride [sarcasm] great move SF [/sarcasm]
  4. Homer you suck I was like I so hope this is true that inversion looked so sick.
  5. If they really did it I completly agree some one could of seriously gotten hurt. If it's just the case that they filmed it I think that is completely unfair. We live in a society were things are being put on film more and more. Chances are there are slot of people put there that would of also have filmed there friend stuck on a ride. (I probably would of) The other thing that comes to mind to me is Bush trying to hide something. Are they so scared there image might get damaged instead of letting it go they have to say the people tampered with the ride and make it get in the news so if people see it they wont look at the park so bad? It just makes me wonder.
  6. As for KK remember GRADV is one of the biggest parks in America and is a SF park that more then pays for its self and help pays for other parks. Kind of like how CP helps pay for the CF chain. Something tells me you wont be seeing a ride like that at a smaller park like Carowinds (not that it is a small park but its not a gradv or cp) KI is big but I cant see CF allowing a park so close to them that they also own to have a coaster bigger then at CP.
  7. Steel Dragon is hard to compare the price cause remember that it is 1 the longest coaster and stile is as far as I know and cause its in Japan it has the be built to a higher stranded cause of earth quakes. If you think about it hough for a long time when we can call it the coaster race there was 3 records that went to gather hight speed and length. The first step to braking this I fell was TTD it proved that you can get both the speed and hight with a complete circuit and with out the length. Then with KK they proved if a park wanted we can just keep tweaking it to get high and faster. So now really what is the point of a park just building another ride just to say it is the highest and fastest coaster. Especially if its similar to both TTD and KK. I would think the next park to brake the coaster hight is 1 going to be a new park or 2 a park that wants to make a longer version of TTD or KK and get back the hight, speed, and length records together. Once the records are back together then I can see the parks competing once again. As for why no 300ft coasters. I think we might see more remember the excitement that a few weeks ago there was when people thought Canada wonderland might be getting a giga. That shows people stile get excited by the idea of a 300ft tall coaster. Chancres are though the next one wont be in america. Cause right now in any other country a gig would clam the hight recored (well maybe not japan) but in america with rides like TTD and KK a park probably figures its worth it to just make a hyper and get the same effect or go for a recored but then a recored wont be unique. Also those records for hight speed and length mean a lot to a park being able to advertise a ride. So if your going to spend 30 million on a giga you can just go for the recored or save moony by going for a hyper which you can advertise for in the same way as that giga.
  8. If they keep the cyclone and wonder wheel I think it is for the better. From what I have heard the park is really going down hill.
  9. Any chance of pictures for a 3D model recreation? Or should I take the closing as a no.
  10. Man I wish I could get my hands on those, but I know may parents would never go for it Is there any chance you could get the Hulk or DD blue prints with pictures big enough to read the numbers cause I would love to give a try making 3D modals based of the real ride dimensions.
  11. Robb what type of site are you running here crazy republicans, terrorist, how know whats next.... I am starting to get scared coming here
  12. If it is really going to take over the lost Continent I have to say I am really not a fan of the idea. 1. when I want o IOA I really felt that the lost Continent really was a very unique and real well themed area, which would be a shame to lose. 2. Is harry potter is a fad and on that is going to be dieing probably with in a few years. The last book is on the way and the 5th movie is already on the way. So while when this new / redone section opens it might give a new rush of Harry potter fans to IOA in the long run I really doubt it is the best move.
  13. Has any one ever heard of the rumor that DD at IOA was originally meant to be for AK but when Disney scraped the beastly kingdom they sold it to universal? This is something I have always wounded about if there was any thought behind it.
  14. While I do in a way fell bade for every one that planed trips for the rids oping and now it wont be open its really not the end of the world. Even with maverick closed I would stile love the chance to get the CP. I would so go on the mid west trip if my parents would let me Another thing I want to bring up is why is every one pointing fingers like it must of been the manufacture it must of been the park, they didn't tell us early enough. We really dont have enough information at all to decide how is at fault. For all we know this problem could of been fount out only a few days ago and they were working on trying to find a solution but couldn't. What about the rolls on chiller that came out what 8 years after the ride was in operation? How would of though of that. At least with this ride just being built a problem is more expected. One last thing I want to bring up is how do we know that it wasn't testing fine and for all we know the forces were fine but that stress fractures were fount in the track. That could really explain why the track nothing to be replaced and doesn't point at an engineering flaw to say. It could of been that the people in the factory's did something wrong when building the track that caused the problem. Remember there is another ride being delayed this year cause track pices were made incorrectly If it was the track maybe it will now be box track since I think it is supposed to be stronger. This is all speculation like every one else but I just wanted to through it out there.
  15. I don't have a my space but if you want to send me a link I will take a look at it. I also heard you need help with a video I don't have time to make a whole video right now, but if you want I can explain to you some ways of making NL videos and give you some editing tips.
  16. Congratulations!!! glad to here every one is doing good. But of luck to every one. Give it 10 years and she will probably have a longer track recorded the most of the people on this site
  17. I wonder if SF just took them off the market and is scraping them. The defnitly scraped SFGADV that picture looked like it was blown apart. Does any one know if SFOG one was scraped or was removed in a manner that it can be rebuilt.
  18. Weather this is a good or bade move i don't know especially being that i have never gotten a chance to ride it. Something though i have to wonder about. Why do all these modern coaster that have a loop and try to use a lap bare always have wired restraint designs. Schwarzkopf figured out a simple restraint system for loping rides 30 years ago that still proves to be effective. One ride even got stuck upside down once and no one fell out. Also i fell the simple lap bar add more to the ride because with the rides were used to seeing with the OTSR it just looks unsafe adding to the ride experience.
  19. Well it all depends if your in to 3D modeling / animation then it might be worth it. but that site is probably mostly set up with high end models for people that actually make money off there work. So instead of spending the time to lets say make there own ride (if there doing something park relate) they will go out and buy the modal already made to save them selves the time of making it them selves.
  20. From what i get those are all models for 3D programs not actually modals you build. So unless your in to 3D modeling or animation there basically useless to you. For those of you that don't know OBJ is a fairly common 3D file format.
  21. Huuum i have to say i would be very surprised to see this happen the same year as Griffin. But here is something wired i remember reading a while ago (probably over a year ago) a rumor that Sheikra in about 2007 or 2008 will be going through a rehab changing the train design (which flavorless would fit that) but that they also said that they might add a second inversion (cause it was originally put in to the design) and if i remember right they said it was some type of roll. Now i know what i just posted sounds kind of out there but being that the train modafacations cam out to be true how know about the layout modifications. Know if something like this really happened it would still surprise me. How much of a market will there really be for advertising a improved ride. Saying come down to BGA and ride the newly improved Sheikra featuring new trans and a new inversion. Chances are the GP wouldn't even understand what the deference really is unless they see before and after pictures.
  22. One ride that I underestimated this year was storm runner at HP. Last year I went on it for the first time and this year when I went to HP and road it I was a lot more impressed with it then I remember it being. Unfortunately this year i went for a re ride and it started to rain so they closed the ride and non of the people how were with me wanted to wait to see if the ran stopped so we left the park and as we were leaving it was going again with people on it and no one wanted to go back
  23. Wow I can’t believe some one really did this. I just figured that it was done with video editing. Talk about your abnormal coaster ride.
  24. Thanks for the link That looks pretty sick. This new one does look a bit safer in my opinion. Action park seemed to be a pretty crazy place.
  25. Wow that idea looks crazy. Does any one know if this is just a idea for a new ride or if it is actually getting built. Also does any one have pictures of the original loping water slide? I would be curious to see it.
