Alrighty! You've got that rock star status, with groupies and all! Did any ask for autographs on the back of their amusement park tickets? Terry -
^I'm getting images of Cinderella! Or is it Cinderfella? You better sell those glass slippers to get that $250, otherwise you're gonna have to continue to scrub that floor! Like it's been said before, $250 secures the spot... period. If you don't have it, then you take your chances later. But then there's always a chance that someone drops out... that's how I made the trip last year. Terry

^Considering Robb and Elissa are still on "running mode", it's probably a good idea just to take what was given and run with it. Anyway, day one at Cedar point was actually a good day to catch up on some much needed rest and wind down. Our group did several attempts at the park, but it wasn't until about 6pm we really made any progress. But we still really weren't rushed to do anything. Of course day too was a lot better ride wise! ^guess you better find an audio recorder program and save them to a mp3. Today's rant: I decided to help a lady at work get her keys that she locked in her car by calling roadside assistance. It would cost her nothing except something to tip the service man. Anyway, she had called her boyfriend that went ballistic about his keys and he came out to the job. I see him messing with the window with a hangar and I tell him that I just got a call from AAA and they are on their way in 15 minutes, so he can stop. He didn't. I went back inside. Later I check for the truck and look outside and I hear the guy and girl yelling. Old homeboy just broke the window messing around! So instead of waiting and paying $5 for a tip, he has to pay about $250. Oh well, I went back inside and had a powerbar. That's what I get for helping folks; now you know why I hardly ever help people these days. Terry "thinks some people are a ghetto mess" Weaver

(giggle) Love the post. My eyes rolled when I read that too. Drop-out, boo, let me direct you to this if you haven't seen it: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=31454&start=120 So it was written, and it shall be done. Amen. Terry "Religiously tired but gotta go to the gym" Weaver PS Gotta figure out some way to take more time off in europe! Is saving enough to quit my tired job an option? The owner came to my desk to explain why they are taking IM off our desks and replacing it with an internal version... Told him to keep it off my desk.. the IM is how I talk to the consultant in virginia. That little company isn't on anyone's radar to be a security risks... besides, those sillies don't know all the major IMs have web versions that I can get around their ban! Sheesh.

I still have my only official souvenir from the trip: the flashlight. Being from florida and it's hurricane season, I probably will be using it again. I think by the end of day one we managed to get on about four or five coasters including TTD (which included David and I switching off and locking in Chuck and Gary). Maverick was also the third time I'd seen Gary pissy. I think that was his worst ride of the trip. The restraint kept hitting his neck and he was MAD (you should have seen that ride photo). I quickly learned how to lean into the turns so the restraints wouldn't get me. Terry -
You guys had steak-n-wait... I walked in and got my food... then quietly tipped back out. I didn't want to bring my food by the table since I got it too quickly. I walked back to the hotel and ate it in the lobby. Terry

Not really annoying but it's definitely sad: Going to the gym and see cars illegally parked in order to get close to the elevator to get to the gym. Um, aren't you there to exercise? Will it kill you to walk a little bit? Maybe that's why a good number that go to the gym, really aren't making any improvements. Terry

^Hmmm. They say a hit dog will bark the loudest. Back to topic, poor Casey. Going through the "I'm tired of wood" speech just to get denied on Deja Vu. Talk about a possible head chopper! Terry -

When I said "I feel better now" I wasn't referring to the ride. I had to tell someone off in line about flaking on us after promising us he would be our fourth person for the q-bot. Still not cool and I still don't want to hear the apolo-lie (means an apology but you aren't really sorry). He had us standing in front of Elissa (holding our q-bot) looking stupid. What an a$$! You don't decide to go with someone else at that point! I was fuming! But my day wasn't actually better until we hopped on the bus to the next park. I needed that beer I found! Anyway, my favorite part of the day that didn't make the cameras was when this girl with big boobs wearing a skimpy tank top was running and we all stopped to see the "train wreck" as they went: Boing Boing PLOP! Yep. Both of them came out right in front of us. She was trying to cover them and put them back in! I yelled "GIRL! PUT YOUR T#TTIES BACK IN!" Talk about dressing inappropriately for the park! I saw her later and just smiled at her. She scurried off somewhere quickly. Terry -
Elissa, I have a question even though it's probably months before you make a decision. Are you thinking about one particular pickup time for the bus or several like the midwest trip on the 22nd? I asking because I will most likely go to europe a week early for a "See my brother/40th birthday/whore's holiday" (yep that's the goal...especially when my brother is gay too) mini trip and I want to get the logistics down of what time of day I need to be in Paris. I'm thinking I'll be partying in Berlin or Prague and catch a early flight into Paris to meet the group. But if I gotta party in Paris, I won't lose sleep either... they got cute house music there too! Terry "trying to remember his 6 years of french from high school and college" Weaver

No I'm not combining them. I remember because: 1) the whizzer is the only ride I've been on with a guy I dated. 2) At the time the only amusement parks I've been to were Six Flags over mid america (St Louis), Silver Dollar City, Kentucky Kingdom and Great America. So the only whizzer in those parks would be... So if it wasn't a tunnel (too many trees?) it was covered by something because when we came out after seeing the sign the coaster broke hard. And the guy I was dating cursed in spanish. If nothing else I have a good memory, people are surprised at things I remember from years ago. Makes a good weapon when the kids act crazy and you gotta put them in their place. Terry -

^^^Man, you're making me old! But the wiki is saying those changes happened in the 80s. I didn't ride it until the middle 90's. That when I think it had a little tunnel and after the tunnel was the hard brakes. And when I went on the trip the tunnel and the sign is no longer there. Terry -

A few things: 1) Michael became a statue that day! I told his BF that I would make sure he got in a photo but I didn't say how. Wait til he sees that video! 2) All the amusement park food was starting to take it's toll on my frame 3) Viper was great! 4) Superman didn't get away fast enough. You know I got him! EDIT: I see I got another witness to my seeing how 'super' superman was! 5) You beat me to the punch with a lot of the photos... but I'm still doing my update this weekend 6) How did I get in all these photos that day? They're gonna start saying i'm the 11th person! 7) Iron wolf made me mad. I used to like it back in the day. 8) Did they take a part off of Whizzer? I remember a long time ago I saw a sign near the end that basically said to brace yourself... it was going to brake hard. And it did. Terry -
^Yeah I hope so too! I think it's all a matter of budgeting my money... but I managed the midwest trip with several partying trips (one which cost me about $1600 alone) so it shouldn't be a problem. I tend to focus on things I want to do... and I did a bunch of stuff within the last year and probably will do the same this year. I just want to have my own camera for the trip... and maybe a new laptop! At least I have a few extra months to save up, I think I got on the list last year around november. Oh and I forgot another thing I should tell ya about the trip: don't party so much the night before that your a$$ is dragging in the park the next day! You did come to ride coasters right? You can drink and get drunk at home! Terry
-
Now what fun would that be? I say make a list and check it twice... Oh that's christmas... Terry "Trying to take his craziness international" Weaver PS... you know myspace took my page down after I posted my statue pics? Geez they indundate me with spam and gay.com ads of men in underwear hugging each other and I post a pic of me fully clothed humping a statue of a bear and they get all out of joint! Time to update my own site!

To throw my 2 cents into the fray: The Midwest Trip I was on EXCEEDED my expectations! I had a pure blast and I think my Photo TPRs showed it. Robb and Elissa put a lot of effort into the trip and I was impressed. I also met some pretty cool people too. I'm trying to get into the Europe trip next year because now I know what to expect: 1) Even with the numbers of parks we visited in number of days, I never really felt rushed except for Great America and the Q-bots. Try to pick your groups early even if you gotta go up and ask people days beforehand! Otherwise you end up with flakes or major personality clashes (vacationers vs coaster geeks) like we had. 'nuff said. 2) Try the shoes out that your going to wear at another park or walk around in them ALL day, like at a park. I had blisters the 2nd day after wearing my new walking shoes. After using the blister pads I brought and changing to my comfortable sneakers, I was fine. 3) Too many of y'all are "jockin" Robb & Elissa on the trips! For heaven sakes, give 'em space to breathe! There's enough people on the trips where you can find like personalities and go off on the trips on your own! 4) Bring a device that has a spare alarm clock with batteries! 5) Either help your roommate get up by pushing them out of bed or hitting them. Sure they might get mad at you, but it's better than their butts missing the bus! Luckily I had a great roommate and we both get up at the crack of dawn! If you have trouble getting motivated to get up in the morning, either change to getting up early a month or two before going on the trip or rethink it. My internal clock gets me up at 5:30am regardless of the day, so I had no problems catching the bus. I know if I get on the trip, I may have to get there a few days early (maybe visit my brother in Finland) so I'll be on a proper timezone. 6) Sometimes you gotta be a little outgoing or know how to make your own fun on the trips! To hang out with me, you have to have just about as much sense as I do... which is none! Anyway, I want to say a big thank you again to Robb & Elissa for making my first 2 week vacation ever one of the best times! Hopefully I can go to Europe to celebrate the Big 4-0! Terry "Fingers crossed for europe" Weaver
