^Cyber stalking. That's illegal too... that's why your school is watchiing you. New subject: Did you know at my gym there's actually some gay guys? (ok it wasn't a good subject but new nonetheless) Terry

^Try: "Drama sucks" "Stalking sucks" You're too young to have the 'drama level' that high... you know having "authorities" involved because of your decision making. I'd focus just on getting through school right now; otherwise there's no telling what you'll get into when you get older. I've know quite a few guys that have felony records just because of really bad decisions and they could have avoided them just by keeping the drama down in their lives. ^ooh you're way behind the curve! http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=38952 Anyway my roommate is hating his job right now... he works as a client rep at a insurance company and he's doing open enrollmnent for the city of miami. Anyway he walks in to a location and is confronted by the mayor about the number to call to see if your doctor is in their network. The number goes to a directory of "all the know adult sex lines known to man". I asked if he asked to see if my doctor was in the network; he downloads enough porn. He got cursed out by so many members yesterday he came home with a big bottle of wine and drank most of it. Anyway he directed the mayor to call the executives and not him, he's only the person that answers the questions and signs people up, not the ones who makes any decisions about the program. He gave the mayor all their cell phone numbers and went back into the firing squad. My roommate makes the suggestion to print a sticker to cover the offending number after all the execs are dumbfounded. Right now he's showing them they should have went ahead and promoted him instead of shafting him after he helped get the account in the first place. What's wrong with some of these South Florida jobs? Oh and his boss had a nervous breakdown two weeks ago after he stopped helping her on the account as appreciation for her shafting him on his promotion, raise and bonus. He found out about her and said "Good. I hope she doesn't come back." Oh coworkers at my last job are calling me for help. They're not getting it. Terry

I need to stop in that place and look around before the weekend... I work about 10 minutes way from it now. I need to look at a new computer desk. Oh and it's funny that the place they originally wanted to build the store turned it down because of it would ruin the "family hometown nature" of the city due to traffic, but they had no problem giving a permit to a "Gentleman's club" in the area? A mess! Terry

People from my old job are now asking me questions about old projects... after I told them not to. I'm done with that job. I told them to either look on my old machine to see if it exists or do it over. Terry

^Well from first glance it did sound a bit like stalking. If he can't be bothered, forget him; it's his loss. You'll learn as you get older that if they aren't with the program, you don't waste another second on them. Also high school is based on appearance; he won't hang with you because he's afraid that he'll appear to be gay. Heck he may be harboring some feelings he's not ready to address at this point, so it doesn't help to keep trying to contact him. I've heard a few stories where it wasn't until someone who was afraid of gays to come out when they graduated from high school years later. They don't have to face people on a day to day basis and they're living more on their terms later. Either way, forget him and move on. You've got better things to do. Terry

^A long time ago I took a boyfriend to thanksgiving dinner. Actually it went pretty well... although I had left the room and when I came back they were trying to feed him chitterlings... the whole family stopped to watch him... poor guy almost threw up... I ran in and grabbed the plate from him and told my family "OOH! Ya'll are evil!" P.S. for those that don't know, chitterlings are boiled pig intestines. ^Exactly. But I think they're coming close at my job. It's more based on did you finish what you were supposed to do rather than a time clock, which I like. Finished that program spec and nothing to do? Tell your boss you're done with what was assigned and go home early. Although it's the third day working there, I'm thinking that I'm now doing substancially less for substancially more. That's cool too. I'm only doing one thing and one thing only which I like. I took off several hats that I've previously wore to wear one totally different hat. I still miss my programming but I finally met with my old VP and he had told everyone, once he saw my resume come across his desk, how strong my problem solving and technical writing skills were. He said how when I started I saw how nothing was documented and I went through while I was learning the systems and created tech docs for everything and created a repository for it and he wanted me to do the same for them. He also said with my tech background I can also understand things from the back end as well to provide a thorough analysis of the problems they may have. So I was impressed that he remembered all that, so it made me feel a bit better about changing roles. So at least now I can work on my analysis skills for a few years and move more towards management. He'll also leave the developer door open for me if I want to go back to it later as well. I've been wanting to work at a larger company so I guess I got my wish because there are about 20 people in the IT department and 15,000 overall. Some of the side benefits are decent, like discounts on computers, new cars, Vonage, flowers, etc. And my roommate wants me to get the pet insurance for his animals. Terry

Well you've definitely confused me with your post. The beauty of youth I guess; as long as you're not really repressing feelings for other's sake. I'd hate for you to turn 50 and say "Oops. I guess I really did kind of like guys too." As long as the boat stays afloat, Terry

^Exactly. Also someone from my old job contacted me over a problem with a program I had to rebuild when my computer crashed. Being the nice guy I am, I gave some free advice: "Tell the guy he needs to learn how to debug. www.google.com will help you." Terry

I looked at my last post and realized I didn't tell you guys about the clock! The owner decided that people that came in late to work would have to walk around the office with a HUGE clock. They also decided that people couldn't leave the premises for breaks, since some people would go to the bank to get money or get coffee, since the stuff they provided was crap. Way to make the place a nice place to work. The company that I'm working at now made it a point to tell me that if I wanted to leave for an hour outside time allotted for breaks and lunch, I could. Also in some instances I could work from home. Terry

^Since I've gotten more in shape, I got offers from a few businessmen and a politician who wanted to offer me "side work"... yeah right. They got turned down because I need to be able to hold my head up in the morning. Where are the fine guys anyway? Oh I went out in St. Louis last weekend. Oh my! Where do all the good looking guys go to now? Did they leave town? My best friend and I went out to about 5 clubs and most of them were empty! And the one club that had a crowd was the "leather" bar and they had old, fat, and worthless men running around. I did give them grief by whipping my shirt off and giving them a little miami flavor... let me tell you, if I'm the only thing happening in a club, there's a problem! So I spent my night rejecting and tossing trolls that got a little to close or wanted to grab me. My friend was laughing... "You're letting these trolls have it!" Terry

^Everyone I told about the clock story last weekend did a double take. My aunt, which is a corporate recruiter, dropped her jaw when I told her as well. My father, who has had only one job for 40 years, tried to scold me about leaving my job, that is until I told him about the clock. "Oh. ok." was all he said. I just want to have a job where people aren't acting crazy. Is that too much to ask for? I always end up with a crazy story! I put it in my book I'm writing because people need to hear about how ridiculous some of these employers are. Hopefully I can publish it and change careers. Terry P.S. I've gotten my share of professors with heavy accents... but it's helped me in my career because I've worked with people with heavy accents and can figure out what they are saying... I have an accent as well (I've been told), especially when I start speaking fast... the country boy just jumps right out!

I hung out with my cousin's side of the family friday and they are some of the most ghetto people on earth. The kids were downstairs at a family function smokin pot! The adults were upstairs drunk and staggering. It was a complete mess. Some 50 year old lady that was a friend of the family was also drunk and tried to hit on me with her husband in the next room! I told her to give it a rest before I go tell him. Then we left there and took another cousin home and found out her aunt lived around the corner from my father's house. The aunt (who was also drunk at 11:30pm) started calling my stepmom all kinds of names and wanted to go around the corner to kick her butt because she thought my stepmom wanted her husband. That's when I lost it. "If he's hanging with your drunk a$$, he ain't no good and my stepmom don't want him. You don't have sh@@ either; you need to sober up and sit your butt down; because if you go over there I guarantee Lena (my stepmom) will kick your tail in the yard then my father will grab you and throw you back to your house. That is if Lena doesn't whip our her pistol and start blasting. If she does, don't say anything... just run. Don't go over there acting crazy. You've been warned, drunk b@tch. C'mon Bo (my cousin) take me home 'cause your family is givin me a rash and this isn't the look I'm to achieve." My cousin was embarrased again... this is the same family that started fighting at her wedding reception and somebody got stabbed. I'm glad to be back home away from that mess... at least my side of the family is way better than that except for a few shifty members. Terry

Being back home after visiting family during my step dad's funeral. Funerals bring out the worst in some people. Did eat my White Castles, Sonic, and fried fish while I was there and brought back several packs of Jolt caffeine gum I saw in the store. Terry

It was. Glad I don't work there anymore. That place had me stressed to no end. I start my new job as a System Analyst tomorrow. We'll see how it goes since it's a step up in the career path. Normally I would do both the specs and the development; now I get all the specs and give them to my programming team... originally the job was for a programmer/analyst but the VP of the company worked with me at a previous job (small world) and knew my work and thought I was a better fit for the higher position. I'm not sure how I will like it, since I love to program, but at least I got a lot more money out of it and 30 days of vacation, which will go towards my coaster trip next year. I'm happy that I won't have to starve myself to make sure I have enough cash for the trip. So now I can definitely get that new macbook pro by the end of the year! Terry

$269 on a plane ticket back home to Saint Louis this week for my step father's funeral. Lucked out I guess on a "cheap" fare. Nothing makes you realize you're getting older until your elders start dying. Terry

Not trying to be mean, but I think you'd better sit down and think some more on what you want to do. Your acting career is only going to lead you to a few places: * Retail * Waiter/service industry * Twink porn & "escorting" I'm just being honest with you. The last two people that told me they wanted to go into acting now can either be seen on the back of video box in an adult store or an ad on Rentboy.com. That's not how do to it; especially in Florida. That's a crowded industry. Heck, you can skip the classes and I'll call one my porn star friends up and get an agent specializing in young boys up in Orlando and give you the contact info. That's pretty much the only "look" you have right now in the acting field unless you're putting in a little gym work to put on another 20-30lbs. The way they use those kids up isn't pretty. And judging from your job jumps you don't yet have the dedication it needs to break into the true acting field. I know you're supposed to shoot for your dreams; but I think you should think hard and long about what you want to do with your life. Separate fact from fantasy. Take a day off and find out if a local college has some type of career planning center. Terry

How are you gonna backhand him with his own question? But seriously, Thrillride, I know you looked at the responses in this thread earlier and you are probably upset. You're young but you're going to have to learn how to really commit yourself to something if you're going to make it on your own. Otherwise you'll wind up in a dead end job or back home Arkansas (that's where you're from right?) disgraced. Nothing worse than coming home to a bunch of "I told you so". I sure said that to a bunch of people that tried to move away (who I knew didn't have it together) and ended up back home the next year... I used to sing the theme of "Welcome Back Kotter" to make them feel welcome back home. (EDIT: Also you know that if you wind up back home, all that gay freedom you got while in Florida is going to be snatched away as your folks put you on full lockdown. My old roommate from years ago played around and didn't take care of business and I put him out, sending him back to his ultra-religious family in Washington. He called me two weeks later crying because his family put him on lockdown... and in therapy. Not cute. But that's added incentive to do well on your own because you don't want to go back home!) If you go back and read my posts towards you, you know I've always tried to help you because I've been there before. I hate to see anyone who want to accomplish something fail; but that decision is ultimately up to you because you are the one that really has to make it happen. You'll have to decide if you want to listen and really help yourself or be one of those people that cry for help but really don't want to be saved. Hint: The latter doesn't really go anywhere but down. Terry

Thrillride, boo boo, Was disney your first job? I'm guessing it was. But it seems like you've burned down your bridges at two major amusement parks in less than six months. That's not a good thing. From remembering your previous posts over the last few months I'm going to say you are a little spoiled. It's all about earning your wings. You gotta start somewhere in order to move up. Not having something to do for twenty minutes at a time is much better than being bombarded for 6 hours then having 20 minutes of nothing to do. See you may not have like the first position at universal but it's all about moving up in the park... out of high school you have no real skills, so you have to take what they give you, do it the best you can then move into the real positions. You could have been sweeping up trash and removing gum from rails and the ground or frying up the burgers. We all have to take our lumps. Heck, I've taken quite a few but now I getting offered a new position at another company that is higher than what I interviewed for and I'm going to get at least $15K more a year when we start negotiating today. Do what you have to in order to get where you want. The sooner you learn that, the better off you will be. Terry "Soon to be System Analyst" Weaver

I think I'll be getting my first job offer from this company next week. I'm guessing that because they're willing to give me time to relearn Java (haven't used it since 1997) and Unix. Since I'm a Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (that molests amusement park statues in his spare time ) they want to bridge my knowledge with their current systems. Also my old VP works there and several employees that knew me and they must want me there. So I wouldn't mind working there. Of course my biggest challenge to date is the interview Monday. This is a 3 hour interview with a 1.1 billon dollar global computer corporation. They contacted me after I sent my resume in, which is a victory in itself. The simple phone interview was actually a oral technical exam which caught me off guard, but evidently I knew my stuff; they called me 30 minutes later to schedule a face to face interview! The phone inteview was supposed to last 30 minutes but ended up being close to an hour! They raked me over the coals! So if I get that job I will be jumping for joy! Both jobs look interesting (in addition the other position has 16 days of vacation the first year then 30 the 2nd and flex time) and both have offices in several countries. So either way I'm looking at a better opportunity and a SUBSTANTIAL increase in pay! Oh the first one didn't have a problem with me taking 3 weeks off next year for the TPR Europe trip so it was an added bonus! Finally my hard work is starting to pay off! Wish me luck!
