What Was The Last Coaster You Rode?
grinch1313 replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The Mummy at USO four times in a row yesterday. Thank you single rider line. It's still my favorite ride at USO and the back right seat in the car is the best location. I was lucky enough to end up there twice. -
Knoebels Discussion Thread
grinch1313 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
My parents were out at Knoebels today. They heard that they either have to order a replacement part or have one fabricated. They weren't sure yet. They haven't heard a time frame for how long it will take. Apparently, it broke while going up the lift and the riders had to be evacuated. -

Great updates so far. I really liked the Big Air and weird dark ride coaster POVs. Thanks for sharing the pictures of the trip so far. I can't wait to see more updates from Taiwan. -
Good Eating Outside of Theme Parks

If you're near Knoebels, May's Drive-In is always one of my family's favorite stops. They have a few locations in the general area. The food is inexpensive and pretty good too. May's Drive-In -

The Bayern Curve at Kennywood. I went in thinking it would be fun, but it ended up being even better than my expectations. -
Best Drop Ride!!!
grinch1313 replied to coaster_shorty's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The ARM/Larson drop towers are completely terrifying. I've been on a few of them and they get me every time. I rode AtmosFear at Knoebels last week and it's a fantastic ride. It feels very tall when you are on it. I got a good view of Twister from that side of the tower. My favorite drop ride (and possibly favorite theme park ride overall) is Tower of Terror at Hollywood Studios. The Twilight Zone is one of my favorite TV shows. I love the drop and the parts where you don't know whether you're going up or down. It's so much fun. -
The stand out items to our group was the Grilled cheese with honey from Greece, Meat Balls in Scandinavia, and then the Pumpkin Mouse in canada. So if you are going I highly recommend getting those three. Or at least the honey cheese, since we all went for a 2nd round of it. Ultimately it looks like the festival will be a success and I look forward to Busch building on the offerings next year. I had to echo this. The food was simply amazing. I was very impressed with the event, especially with it being the first year. If this becomes a regular event, I could see myself heading up there specifically for it. Scandinavia was the highlight with the Frozen Dirty Shirley and the meatballs. The pumpkin mousse could likely be my favorite thing of them all though.

I had a fantastic time at my first Coasting For Kids event. I made some new friends and got to spend time with some good friends again. I ended up getting 13 laps on Grizzly, 3 on Anaconda, 2 on Rebel Yell, 10 on I305, and 6 on Dominator before the rain stopped my group from riding Hurler. I also finally managed to snag my Shockwave credit. It was such a great and well put together event. I applaud Give Kids the World and Kings Dominion. I hope to participate again next year.

TPR Florida Amusement Industry Tour!
grinch1313 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It was such a great event. It far exceeded my expectations. The Sally Corp tour was very informative and fun. They are so passionate about their craft and it really shows. I love seeing the pictures and especially being on a TPR tour bus ride! I would happily do an event like this again! -
Amusement Ride Breakdown!
grinch1313 replied to Mr Stratosphere's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I have this photo on display in my room. It's amazing. There was also Dive to Atlantis where our boat kept bottoming out and the ride op told us we were "gonna have to push." The best breakdown story I know about didn't happen to me, but my cousin and aunt a long time ago. When my cousin was 3 (she's 21 now), she and her mom were on Peter Pan's Flight when there was a loud clunk and the ride shut down. It turned out to be a very bad breakdown as the cast members starting hand wheeling in all the cars that were out on the track except for the one my cousin and aunt were in. A cast member 1 at the exit called out to another one to check on the situation with their car. Cast member 2 calls back that they can't hand crank this one in because it's hanging on by one part of the track. One calls back "So everything's fine, right?" And two calls back "Of course. Everything's fine." They ended up having to climb out using a ladder. Ever since then my cousin will not get anywhere near that ride. -

This definitely looks like an excellent addition. I loved the Splash Battles that I have been on and the dark ride portion looks especially exciting. Looking forward to riding this once it's open. -

Top Roller Coaster Myths & Rumors!
grinch1313 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I keep hearing that Dollywood removed the Flooded Mine because of snakes. The same rumor reappeared when Blazing Fury's splashdown was removed.
