Photos from behind the scenes!
nowaymang replied to CdnbMatt's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I agree. I couldn't click here fast enough when I got the notification of a new post. -
Yes, Rudy is quite freakish as are Red and Ted from Roadshow. Congrats on the Roadhouse, that's a classic to own.

Those are some great pins, jaap. I think the only thing keeping me from owning one now is that I don't have the time to learn to maintain one proper. Someday though I'll have an Arabian Nights. (My favorite pin)

^ That is such a win!! *nice pin btw*

Pinball is still pretty strong here in Pittsburgh, there are a few leagues around town and the PAPA World Championships are hosted just outside the city in Scott Township. When did Pinball die? It did have a setback when Bally/Williams decided to focus on making slot machines over pins. Stern is still piping out 4-5 new machines a year.

Photo TR: Off-Season Aerial Shots over Cedar Point!

More fun are the impulses with the rear hold brake on the straight rear spike. I remember media day at the park formerly, and then again known as Geauga Lake when they got theirs. I was awestruck at the sway after the train was released from the hold brake. -

Thanks for sharing these amazing pics. I hope to get back to CP sometime in the next few years. Last time I was there was Coastermania in 2000. -

Parks Coasters and Rides in Movies and TV
nowaymang replied to spike's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I love this film. I don't really support a remake though. I've given it thought to the point of imagining who would be cast to what role. Actors like Widmark, Fonda, Bottoms and Segal are not easily replaceable. /Also sings 'Big Boy' along with Sparks. //Also adored young Helen Hunt as well. ///four words: Steve Guttenberg movie debut -
Parks Coasters and Rides in Movies and TV

In the Episode titled "Access" [s5E18] of "The West Wing" there is old coaster/amusement footage used during a PBS-style voice over about the youth of one of the characters. -
That wasn't too bad as far as spoilers go. Still leaves a lot to the imagination until January. I personally cannot wait. I've been void of good TV (save for Fringe and Leverage) in the past few months.

I'll have whatever it is they're having.

I've been experiencing this as well with Guitar Hero World Tour these days, especially after songs with extended periods of strumming 6+ notes per second. (Doesn't help at all that I'm already recovering from a prior back injury) ~B

Happy Holidays everyone !! First year this century that I've felt the pull of the 'Holiday Spirit'. My sub-conscious still is trying to reject the idea though. ~Brian "That's Mr. Scrooge to you" Teyssier. PS: In regards to musicians using video games to peddle their music. (Journey was king of selling via video games in the early-mid 80's) (Aerosmith had a fixed gun shooter game in the early 90's) (Kiss had their own pinball machine) (So did Elton John (as Captain Fantastic)) (Crap, I tried to forget about the Moonwalker game completely and failed)

Favorite Coaster at KD
nowaymang replied to Thelegendarymatthew's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
My only KD visit was a middle-school band trip there in 1986. Shockwave was new (I think). As neat as the stand-up gimmick was at the time, I loved Grizzly and still hope to ride it again someday. -

Love the Onion. Looks like a photo-shopped Dragon Khan in the picture. -
This type of movie is not 'award-friendly'. I personally feel that Ledger got nominated only because he's gone.
