PHOTO TR: G-Dog's Past Trip Photos
nowaymang replied to Geauga Dog's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Incredible GL photos. Being from Pittsburgh I took advantage of the crazy cheap season passes that SFO offered in 2000. Did you happen to attend the media event the day before the park opened to the public. That was the best time I ever had at a park. So far.... -
I figure I'll just leave this link here of the sickest save I've ever seen live and in person. Footage is from the World Championship A-Division Finals at PAPA 13. http://www.funwithbonus.com/2010/08/18/papa-13-bowen-kerins-how-did-you-make-that-save/

^That was probably me. My partner and I got there around that time and rode SR 1st. Were you the person wearing the shirt from Woot that my partner commented on the awesomeness of? (I doubt I'll wear a black shirt again in that kind of heat) -

Happiness is receiving word that your company's summer picnic will be held at Kennywood Park in August. -

This was very well put and sums up my feels quite perfectly. Mr Koch, from all accounts, was a great person who will be remembered for giving the people all they wanted and more. -

After watching those test videos, I just... *stares off dreamily, pondering the dementia of time travel and the 2 KP tickets taunting from the refrigerator door* -

^ I think it's cheap as well. Considering the one day ticket price these days. -

I caught that blurb this morning as well. I think the price is just high enough to keep the park from being the summer baby-sitter for West Mifflin/Duquesne area. -

I'd would guess the 17 straight days of snow may have something to do with it. -
Here is my feedback for my yes vote on this topic. 1. What are your initial thoughts? I feel this is a step in the right direction to more firmly plant TPR as a product in the roller coaster enthusiast community. I believe this is a step that TPR needs to make in order to continue providing all the FREE content they have done and will continue to do for it's casual visitors. I see this as a win/win for both the casual visitors and the administration 2. Can you think of anything else we could be offering? At this time the package seems thorough. I realize this is a rough draft that probably was combed over a few times before it was even posted. I expect some items or wordings to change as this process continues. 3. Is this something that interests you? Yes this interests me. 4. Why would you NOT be interested in this? The pricing is really the only issue I can foresee that could ever be an issue for not wanting this potential service. It's sort of a lifestyle decision; "Is this something I want to devote time and finances to?". I figure if I'm committing money for membership, I want to be in a position where I can utilize the benefits provided. 5. Any additional feedback you can give us based on the information you see here. I have no other feedback but to say.. Wow! What a project to jump into after the holidays. Good luck with this Robb and Elissa. I can see in this thread already that it's going to be a long road ahead. Enjoy the journey!

Sea World looks like an awesome experience compared to my original Sea World experience in Ohio. (Sometime in the early '80s) All I did then was stare at the amusement park across the lake and get *SKLOOSHED* by a darn fi^H^H whale. -
PAPA 12 was a rousing success. I however didn't fair so well. I placed 24th in qualifying for the 'C' division. Next year I'll do better. (and request the Monday after off work to recover)

Glad to hear this is coming to my backyard! I don't understand why people are making judgment on something that's not even built yet, but oh well, somethings will always boggle me. -
Smoking: Park policies: Your opinion.
nowaymang replied to FlyingScooter's topic in Random, Random, Random
I am a smoker working on being an ex-smoker. Remember folks, the USA is not going to make it totally illegal when they export tons of tobacco and tax it heavily on their own citizens. I always respect non-smokers, in parks or elsewhere where it's restricted. They have a right to breathe easy. I do NOT like preachy people who harass me about it in designated smoking areas. If you're a non-smoker, don't go to those areas, simple enough? -

Awesome TR. A room of mostly broken pinball machines is always a little sad though *sniff* At least the Hercules was working. Last one I saw was at Cedar Point and it was not working.
