^ Ah yes. I know that it doesn't (I actually learned it this morning on the radio as I don't watch the news on a regular basis and honestly haven't really been looking into it that much). However, the reason for that post was just saying that the pigs are getting your back for treating them like s@. Fail revoked.

Influenza Epidemic, affects parks and fairs.

Horray for people eating pigs and abusing them!!!!! -
Exactly. And it is not like they are charging you out of no where. You still have the option to not purchase it if you don't want to pay the fee. Am I correct? And I am still on the fence about the parking lot thing. I think Joe makes a really good argument, and has for years. I'm still just right in the middle on it. Scott - Go to a fair and you will either have to pay a dollar to take a pee, or you will see the poor bathroom attendent just begging for a tip as you walk out of the disgusting mess of a stall - yes, the one that they are keeping "clean".

I don't think they're much of a deal; They only get you into Six Flags. Now the $200 Busch Platinum Pass, that's a deal. ...that pass only gets you into the Busch family of parks? How is that any different? Um, because they're good parks. Sorry, I was being snarky. Perhaps I should have made it more obvious. /Yes, I'm a Six Flags basher--I admit it. It's their fault, though. //Actually, I have both. But I've used the Busch one way more. Erik - Don't worry. I love your snarky posts. I understand them. So when you go to bed tonight, you can rest easy, because at least someone knows you are being sarcastic. No. I think you need to take either a finance or economics class to get these simple principles. Let's use your Dippin' Dots example. The park charges $5 not to cover the cost of the Dippin' Dots, but to make a profit. Let's just say it cost the park $.95 (including the cup and spoon) for each small cup of Dippin Dots. They charge $5. The profit on the Dippin' Dots would be $4.05. A business would be foolish to charge for the cost of the product they are selling, as you worded your post. Also, they are not making $5 off of the online tickets. The company they are using for the online ticketing is at least getting a portion, if not all of that $5. So the park is not making the money off of the online tickets, they are just using that additional charge to pay their bill. I think even if Six Flags lowered their online ticket cost by an additional $5, and a pop up came up that there would be a $5 charge for the online ticket, people would still be complaining. I don't think Six Flags wins in this situation.

Larry is also the spokesperson for buying in bulk.

I completely understand that. I think a waterpark would be a very good thing, but a big waste of money unless they can find a way to strategically market the new product, and get people away from the beachside attractions. In my opinion it sounds good, but it would be a big waste of money because I don't think they could make it work.

Please. In my letter I told him he couldn't even hold Nikolai Khabibulin's, Mike Richter's, or Cam Ward's jock. Don't even both messing with Roy, go down to guys that are 3 levels down from Roy and Marty B.

Ok. I agree with that. But there are already a couple of waterparks in prime areas in Mytrle Beach. What would the park be able to do to attract people to make the journey over to the park from their beachfront hotels, and the busy section of town. I think it really comes down to their location, and being able to attract business.

^ The new Miler has been discussed many times in a bunch of different threads, but thank you for the link to rcdb.

I just sent him 10,000 pieces of hate mail, with a snap shot of each time a "Whaler" has beaten him so far this post season. Hopefully that will piss him off enough.

As soon as I saw Rose not shift defensively, and before the ball left Rondo's hands, I said "Nooo". I just knew that Allen was coming across from the top of the key, and then there he was, with his outstretched arms waiting for the ball. I'm extremely glad they were able to pull it out though. D. Rose was very, very good down the stretch. He just made drive after drive to the basket each possession, and it had me wondering "Are the Celtics ever going to at least try to stop him?" I'm not totally happy with the play overall, especially with some poor defense, most of the play by Salmons, and Gordon getting lazy against Allen, but they got the win and showed some heart out there - thank you Joakim Noah.

If I am correct, I do believe the park uses RFID wristbands. Perhaps they should think about getting a second kind of band for situations like this. -
I noticed a lot of pregnant women, but I figured we were in Elysburg, what else can you expect? I loved all of the dogs around though. I really couldn't believe how packed it was this weekend. Though, I though, what else do people have to do up in that area? They have probably been salivating over the thought of Knoebels opening.

^^ Exactly the point that I was making about the outside companies. However, ginzo does bring up a good point. Why not just add the $5 right out of the gate to not give the impression that you are being nickel and dimed? Maybe it is an internal accounting measure or something? Maybe the additional $5 charge is credited automatically to the outside company? That is what I have to figure. Keeping the charges separate to make sure everyone gets their proper share. And yes, Six Flags is the only one that I know of that does this. A lot actually give a discounted price for the online option.
-
This is a really tough one. Sure, it is a convenience thing, and places tend to charge more for convenience items or services. Just go to your local 7-11 to get motor oil, then go to your local department store and notice the pricing difference. Convenience usually = higher pricing. However, with ticketing, it might be a little different. I know that a lot of parks actually give a discount if you get the tickets at home. They encourage it because it actually brings their expenses down, and makes for a quick entry into the park. I think this just depends on how they do their print-at-home stuff. It could be possible that the parks that are offering the discount are doing it in-house, and aren't taking on the added cost of a host service. Perhaps Six Flags is looking to cover the cost of a service, such as this one: http://www.clicknprint.com/clicknprint-tickets/ I would really like to know the whole picture before I judge the company for charging for the print-at-home tickets. I mean, from our end, it is completely crazy that some parks charge less money, while Six Flags is actually charging you an extra fee. But each situation is different.

Ok, I guess that was too easy..... The last time you caught King's over Queen's with the King of Diamonds coming on the turn and the Queen of Spades coming on the river, after pushing all in before the flop with King-Queen suited, against two other opponents, one with pocket rockets, and the other with A-2 suited....... while watching a Bruins-Ducks game.
