Against Leather and Animal Testing !!!!

Housepets? Like cats and dogs? No. They aren't against that at all. They are just strong advocates of neutering and controlling the population so that stray animals don't suffer. They are big on adoption. They are certainly not against having housepets. -
Oh my God. That is the station for Riddler? That is the most disorganized mess I have ever seen.

Where do you get this information from? Try going out into the Midwest. If you talk to a farmer, all they talk about is how they hurt the animals and treat them poorly. They almost get off on it. It is almost sick. I'm not saying that all of them do, I don't want to stereotype or anything, but there are a lot that make jokes and make fun of the fact that they abuse their animals. Just because there are fields and such, doesn't mean that the animals get beat, are malnourished, are given all kind of steriods, are packed into barns and other buildings.... -

^^ You get more and more mature by the minute. Yes, nuts have protein but I tend to stay away from them because of their very high fat content. You would be surprised by the amount of protein in green vegetables like spinach and broccoli. That is where I get a lot of my protein. Carniverous animals have developed through out time to be the way that they are. They have sharpe teeth, claws and other natural weapons to allow them to hunt and kill. They also have the instincts to hunt and kill their food and do not need to cook their meat. Humans do not have any kind of natural weapons of their own, and have to make weapons and such to use while hunting or killing animals. Humans also have to cook their meat to make sure there are no deadly toxins. Having to cook meat shows that humans have not developed to become meat eaters, and cariverous animals have the ability to break down raw meats without fear of death. It's also an issue of it is proven that humans have been able to live solely off of fruits and vegetables. We are more free thinking and able than most other mammals out there, and can make decisions. Of course, people do make the decision to eat meat, I am not denying that or trying to make meat eaters the bad guys here. It is just a point that we don't have to treat animals inhumanly. Inhumanly isn't necessarily me preaching about the sole act of killing animals. I know it is next to impossible to get people to stop eating meat and I don't want to try to push that on people because I hate it when people push things on me and I don't like being an ass about stuff. It is just the fact that animals could be have better and healthier and happier lives (ironically) before they get slaughtered. -

Thank you. That is a lot more respectful than other stuff that I have heard. I've thought the same thing in a lot of threads, but just didn't want to say anything. -

I can understand the point of posting them. I mean, I can post all of the PETA stuff that I possibly can but without another "source" for people to read, it would be a one sided discussion. All propaganda is legal in this discussion, not matter how out there it is or how much you do or don't want to believe it. Don't knock him for posting it, although he has knocked on me for posting other stuff. I don't want to make it personal. -
OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG!!!!!! Get a better title for the thread and I might care.

We aren't against that because they are predators. That is how they survive. I don't think it would be too wise to try to talk and reason with a cheetah or a bear either because you would be the one getting your throat ripped out. -
Let's see. I've gone fantasy sports crazy. Right now I'm in with a group of friends and we run a baseball and football league every year. I came in first in the baseball 2 years ago, and I'm in second right now. We also tried a basketball league, but it wasn't that popular, even though I really liked it. I get into public leagues on Yahoo to prep for the drafts, so right now I'm in two public fantasy leagues and doing pretty well in them (even though I don't really care because they are not the 'real' league). I've even become so nerdy that I'm doing fantasy golf (which I'm in first place in).

I agree with the first statement, which is why PETA is trying the whole vegan campaign instead of the vegetarian campaign now. I guess I short of agree with the zoo thing, but my girlfriend is currently working at the Denver zoo, and she tells me every night how poorly the elephants, rhinos and monkeys are being treated. They are still alive, but they aren't doing that well. I personally don't try to sway anyone to either side. I just tell my points and try to get people to see all of the information out there to make a decision. I don't think low of people that eat meat. I have friends that eat meat. I don't like it when people "make fun" (for lack of a better term) of me for doing it, kind of like some have made a joke of it in here. I read and try to learn everything that I can from every angle and have an open mind. I post things and tell people things in hopes that they are the same way. I'm not trying to convert people, I'm just giving my views. Everyone has an opinion. -

That's a big misconception and big time bad stereotype. I'm a vegetarian and hate tofu and gag at the sight and smell of the crap. -

Wow. It is a Superman clone. How crappy is that? Hopefully they don't put it in the middle of a field. -
I had never had a broken bone in my life until I was 18, and I've had a lot of instances that should have resulted in either breaks or just plain death. Anyway, it was a fractured wrist that I got while bowling. Not actually bowling - after bowling. My father owns a bowling alley and I was bowling in a men's league. I had a reputation for getting a little fired up sometimes and taking things a little too seriously. Anyway, to make a long story short, I ended up punching a steel support beam and walked out. I went and picked up dinner, ate it, went to sleep for about an hour because the pain was so bad (it didn't start to really hurt until about an hour after I punched it, and then it started to swell up pretty bad). I went to classes the next day and went to work. I went to classes the day after that and then was advised to go to the hospital as my hand was turning purple. The emergency room said that it was a sprain, and I went on thinking that I was just a genetic freak. The next morning I got a call from the hospital and they said it was a fracture.

^^ Hey, nice little point there, but I don't take the route. I'm actually going to go a different way and talk about the effects of the mass production of vegetables and animals has on the environment. Yes, I'm switching it up a little bit. Now I guess this is where you say "Wow. With a name like Hercules - such a tough name and being named after one of the roughest wooden coasters ever - I can't believe you are a vegetarian pansy AND a tree hugger. What a freak!". Well, please here me out on this one. I am actually a huge advocate against industrial farming in general, not just against the fact that animals are involved. Here are just a few points about it: The mass production and growth of vegetables in the way that it is done is very bad for the soil. This is because there is a large amount of manure and pesticides that go into the soil. These chemicals and manure are flushed deep into the ground and the surrounding areas by the huge amounts of water that are used. I'm sorry for not having the exact stat in front of me or in my head, but in order to produce one pound of meat it takes 100 times more water than producing one pound of ______ vegetables. Vegetables that are not grown organically and done in the methods that are used to mass produce take up more water too. Though, there is a misconception that organic is the best way, even that is not the best way, thought it is better considering little pesticides are used (yes, pesticides are still used for most organic produce) and there are some very large organic farms that use a lot of water. You might be saying "Of course they use water. Plants don't grow without water". Much less water would be used if there were smaller independent farms out there. The large industrialized farms are putting the small farmers out of business much like the large corporations are putting small businesses out of business. "But, there are so many people out there. We have to feed them all". True, there might be more food going out to more homes throughout the country and world, but it is not necessary to do it the way the United States does it. The United States no long considers agriculture, agriculture. It is called Agri-business. There is no regard for the soil or the Earth that we are using. The methods that are used do not produce the best quality foods either. These methods are actually some of the worst methods for the soil too. The way things are now being produced is destroying the land that we call "home". It is not just the way that we mass produce meat, but also fruits and vegetables, and that is pretty sad. Now obviously, I find the way that animals are exploited to be the more immediate need to attend to considering there are animals suffered and these practices are killing the environment. As a whole though, I blame society and industrialization. Sure, industrialization has been a big thing for our life now, but what about our future?
