  1. Joey, don't watch the movie. See the live show first, it's 100 times better.
  2. Bill looking forward to all of them, but Wolf Hall part one and two might be at the top of that list , but than again to get to see Chita Rivera again on stage in The Visit is something I have been waiting years for
  3. Tickets booked for my upcoming trip to New York ( first time back in five years ) seeing The Visit Wolf Hall Part One and Two Hand To Go Finding Neverland On The 20th Century And should be able to squeeze in, Fun Home. Gigi and maybe one other. Cant wait for this!
  4. Loving the trains, glad they are different from the Outlaw run ones. Great pics as always Caesar
  5. Jupiter Ascending, what a crap load of fun, space opera at its finest, don't listen to the critics, go see it, the visuals are amazing, and it has one of the best come on / pick up lines in any movie, period! American Sniper, you can't deny this is a stunning film , with a brilliant performance from Bradley Cooper, but jebus I hated it, nasty, vile film.
  6. I hope they work out the issues with the paint the night parade, lots of disappointed youngsters in Hong Kong.
  7. Predestination: One of the most original movies I have seen, a mind bending sci fi flick that in years to come will be looked back as being ground breaking ( same way Blade Runner is now ) I believe it has just opened state side. Sarah Snook gives one of last years best performances, it starts off really talky, hang in cause the story is one hell of a good one.
  8. I had no idea it had gotten that bad, I nearly brought one for when I go one holidays alone to Paris and London. but they really are dickie. Plus i wish the FKucnkle had lost his stick on that ride!
  9. Into The Woods, one of my all time favorite Musicals, the film is near perfect, ever one in the cast is doing great work. A couple moments I wished a little more from the stage show had been added ( No More is such a stunning song ) Agree with Robb one of the best stage to screen transfer in years. Screening tonight was packed. A must see and yes it needs to be seen on a big screen with great sound!
  10. Adam, did you really do anything else but eat! The ship looks wonderful, plus the food.
  11. Surprised to see that the Mountain is closed on Xmas day, plus no NYE event.
  12. Not sure if this is in the right thread or not, Quick magic band question. Can you only get fast pass at the 90 and 60 day mark? Or can you get it for a last minute trip?
  13. Paddington: A single joy of a film, funny, touching, heartwarming, 90 minutes of fun. Everything about this works. Kidman is having the time of her life playing the baddie, a smart family film. Plus one of the years best for pure entertainment.
  14. Foxcatcher: A slow burn of a film, but also one of the years best. Steve Carrel is beyond creepy as John DuPont the billionaire who had delusions of grandeur about being an olympic wresting coach. Channing Tatum is great as one of the Schultz brothers, I had no idea about this true story going in, it was disturbing, weird, and stunning to watch it unfold. Carrel should be oscar nominated for this.
  15. Horrible Bosses 2, in the dying days of this year, the years worst movie was released. not a single thing works, the three leads come across as dumb stupid morons who just talk over each other for 90 plus minutes. Annie, I am not the target audience for this, but after seeing it I am not sure who is, this is a mess from start to finish, the young girl who plays Annie comes across as a smug spoiled little bitch, I wanted to slap the little ( Word Of The Day ) off the screen. This film just made me angry.
  16. This thread is as deep as a puddle, nine pages of sloppy work, drop not big enough, colors wrong, will it fall down, Thank someone that Jebus will be here to solve all these issues soon enough!
  17. Nightcrawler: This was either brilliant or the worst film I have ever seen, not sure which. Jake Gyllenhaal was so unlikeable in this, in fact nearly ever person in the film had no moral compass what so ever. The story is based on people who videotape car accidents and sell them to TV news stations for profits and ratings. Gyllenhaal played a man who would stop at nothing to get what he wanted, he was vile. By the time it ended I needed a shower to wash the fifth away. In saying all of that I really do highly recommend the film, its either brilliant or awful and I am still undecided
  18. Les Mis, Her Majesty's Theatre Melbourne. Saw the new production well staging of Les Mis, this is an angry version than the original production, sadly didn't have the best of seats, so had sound issues where we sat ( and this is in the closing three weeks of the show ) Liked what I saw, the staging is very dark, looking forward to seeing it again in Sydney early next year.
  19. La Cage Aux Folles, the last fully professional production done in Australia was 30 years ago ( 1984 ) had the pleasure of seeing it in Sydney than plus also the new Broadway production in 2010. The production company does three shows a year semi staged at Melbourne Art Centre, this was the last for the year. La Cage is such a joyous heartfelt funny show, and this production hit all the right notes. To think 30 odd years ago, CBS in the states banned the Tony Awards for allowing George Hearn from appearing in DRAG as Zaza who later that night went on to win the Tony award for best actor and the show for best Musical.
  20. Exodus : Gods and Kings Opened across Australia yesterday, based upon the biblical story ( Fairy tale ) of Moses, it was a rather dull, drawn out piece of nothing. Sigourney Weaver is wasted in the film with maybe less than five minutes of screen time, Jebus turns out to be a ten year old boy who is fascinated with a man double his age, if you have seen the trailer, you have seen nearly all the best set pieces in the film. 3 out of ten. Now of course the above is only my opinion on the story, the bible and the like, so if you are offended that I think the bible is a Fairy Tale, this is not the place to have religious debate
