  1. From just watching the new point of view on the Tron Coaster, it sadly looks way too short!
  2. The thing that gets me about some of these new Dubai / Abu Dhabi parks is that nearly all of them are out doors, and trust me from some one who has been there nearly every month of the year, how do they plan to get people in during day light hours in the middle of the killer summer months when temps hit over 50 degrees in the shade and still stay in the 40's at night time? But on topic, the park looks if it stays that well rather amazing.
  3. Sorry about the third post in a row, the only way universal can lose the contract is by not keeping the Marvel name in good stead.
  4. From what I can gather, it has a lot to do with what falls under the Marvel super hero family, so anything to do with the Avengers is out and all characters who appear, Spiderman, Iron Man, Hulk, Captain America, Hawk Eye etc. Guardians Of The Galaxy characters at this stage are fine, but it will never be branded a marvel ride.
  5. The problem is they cant change over to anything that uses the word Marvel in the title, Universal still hold the rights to the name and all characters, Disney can hold meet and greets, and put an overlay over TOT but they cant use the Marvel name. So it will never become a Marvel land as such. Is this true? Can anyone expand on this further? Not only do I have no clue what this means, but why would the park start renaming Tower of Terror if it's gonna be such a pain in the butt to use Marvel characters without using the Marvel name? IMO Disney doesn't even need Marvel to keep their parks busy, so I don't really get it in the first place. Not only that they're taking away a very valued attraction and not many people seem happy about it. Unless something has changed recently it actually does not apply to Disneyland. They could build an entire Marvel land if they wanted. Universal holds the theme park rights to most of the Marvel properties but it only applies to parks east of the Mississippi River. Im trying to find the story that was posted a couple of days about this, Disney cant use the name Marvel in any theme park in the USA, thats why it was called Super Heroes HQ and not Marvel HQ, why the contract states about the use east of the Mississippi it also includes restrictions west of the Mississippi as well. But outside of the states is a whole new story.

  7. Is there any truth in the rumor about a new coaster ( ? ) going into the back of DCA?
  8. Absolutely. River cruising is getting bigger and bigger and I'm considering a Central Europe one at some point. Would love to see a report on a river cruise, add me to the list that would love to see one.
  9. Sad news that that is the plan, but it still in a way stops Disney from using the marvel name in any park in the states.
  10. Pirates looks f*****g insane some of those effects, parts of me wish I never saw the video, going in without any idea of what the ride holds would be mind blowing.
  11. Rio Selvagem Water Slide at Rio Water Planet
  12. Dumbest idea ever, really Marvel, in no way a Disney fan boy , really far from being a marvel fan boy ( the movies are all the same, fight amongst ourself, watch a city get destroyed, save the girl, save the world and repeat for the next one! ) Tower of Terror is fine the way it is or bring in the Disney Sea layover, problem solved.
  13. Finally, but really during the hottest part of the year, and yes I know most of it is an air con building. Cant wait!
  14. What if they could substitute kangaroo for the duck? I'm sure you can already get that over here, we put everything on a pizza.
  15. The pizza looks great if you eat duck, plus Aussies put everything on pizza ( eggs, bacon ) but I think I'll stick with the sweets.
  16. Can I ask, is Rivers opening this summer or is it delayed?
  17. They really do need to do the mapping and fireworks as a nightly event plus the music.
  18. I find this probably more interesting than I should but it's awesome to hear how adjustable the splash down will be! Same here, love the way you get the splash on the way down, but not on the way up or thats how it looked in the video!
  19. Do you think that's when they were required to submit the actual commercial? That's not how the television works. Of course not they would have payed for airtime, than sent the ad. But the sad part is this thread is now about ads that are being played around the surrounding area.
  20. This thread is full of same S H I T, different day. Dollywood would have payed for this ad space months ago, when every one thought it would be opened.
  21. Glad I wasn't the only one that thought, they just look wrong!
  22. Damn thats one stunning piece of track!
  23. I hadn't planned a trip to Dollywood this weekend, but since Im in Australia, I should ask the park to pay for my airfares, tickets, hotels and I might as well add spending money, cause six weeks ago the thought crossed my mind that maybe I should be there opening weekend. See how farking stupid that sounds when you say it out loud! The world is not ending cause this coaster is not opening, went on a TPR to Texas to ride Texas Giant, some woman got thrown out three weeks before the trip, coaster closed end of story, trip was amazing. For those who's life isn't ending this weekend who will be at Dollywood, have a great time.
  24. The level of detail is outstanding, was hoping to get to Universal before the summer crowds arrive. Is it still doing daily soft openings?
