  1. ^^ Growing up with Rescue 911 really scarred me for life! I remember one where a kid's coat got stuck in the escalator and he was being crushed. Ruined my fun at malls forever. We save lives at Dragons all the time when people decide to jump off the back of the station to go get a hat they lost on the brakes! No, thats rare. We've had our share of issues but none I would say have been life saving. However back to the Escalator.. my friend and I cut off a little girls shoelace once because is got stuck in the stairs going up the escalator.. so we're heroes. haha. Eric
  2. From what I've been on I have to agree with a lot of you.. Steel : Phantom's Revenge. Awesome trains too. Wood : No contest, The Phoenix. Yeah, The Comet at Hersheypark has been killed by those trims for a long time now.
  3. Although WDW is a lot larger.... Park wise, I think if you compare DL and DCA to any two parks over here there's no contest. Soarin', Screamin' Maliboomer, ToT, Aladdin, and Grizzly Falls are all amazing, and I prefer most of the DL attractions over WDW's versions. But in overall atmosphere, WDW is better because its not in a downtown area and HUGE. Eric
  4. I remember seeing a movie of one working and it FLIES around that. Only reason i dont like them is because the train looks like its moving at 120 mph if it was to scale. Eric
  5. Niceeee. I was amazed to see how much 'urban" the Disneyland Resort is compared to WDW. It definately doesn't lose any of the magic.. even when staying at a crappy Best Western! However, I'd gladly take DL and DCA over any two Disney parks in FL. I'd even throw in Animal Kingdom as an added bonus! Now if only DL had a castle... Great pictures though. Eric
  6. What?? That wooden coaster looks amazing. Never saw that before. Here's a great site about the Bat: http://www.doomedthemovie.com/gallery/KI_History and other PKI history. Eric
  7. Nothing like the first time you ride MF and you realize you can't see the bottom of the drop.. or the track for that matter! All I could say was "wow" for a long time after that. Great pictures! Cool to see coasters that I usually dont come across.. or anything outside of the US Eric
  8. Haha.. I looked at that pic with you and Derek on Storm Runner and was wondering where everyone was! Why was it so empty? Foamy rocks. Eric
  9. That's really cool. The artist did an amazing job! I however... am a wimp.
  10. Tom Petty... Runnin' Down a Dream..
  11. Alrighty.. here's two pictures of me. I act really dumb... or I just never get a good meal and was happy. My good friend Carrie and I.. on the awesome monorail at Disneyland!
  12. I'm getting a little worried about the "forceless" B&M's Robb's talking about. Thinking Hydra may fall into this category.. looks really fun though. Has some nice airtime hills at least! I wonder how much loose change Dorney will make under the JOJO roll. Eric
  13. I agree on that, they arent that good as the ones about 5 years ago, but intamin seems to be competing against them and building more and better coasters. I wonder if B&M will build a 400ft coaster? I remember reading something once that B&M doesn't see a reason to go above the 300 foot mark. I'm sure once a park wants it and has the pockets deep enough to pay for it they will without hesitation! I wonder how much a 300 foot B&M would cost compared to Intamin... Anyone know how much did NITRO cost? The Immelman looks HUGE. I was amazed at the Carousel curve when I saw it back in Jan. Have to get back there soon. What kind of restraint system does this use? Eric
  14. I bring lost and found up to the Port of Entry a lot at night and it's amazing to see the park lit up with no one in it... almost surreal because the music is so much louder when there's no one around and it's just you.. Have to get some pictures of it before I leave in a few weeks
  15. The Phoenix... the only coaster that makes even the fiercest enthusiast giggle like a little girl...
  16. I'm impressed with how much SFGadv is doing to this whole area! I was really afraid that they'd be spending however many tens of millions of dollars on this coaster and having my old parking space right there underneath the track. Looks like it will be nice and green by May. Can't wait to be sitting on the launch track scared to death! Or at least taking advantage of shorter NITRO lines. Eric
  17. Great pictures! Great site. I love the Falcon picture on the Hersheypark page. Have to check out the rest now.. Eric
  18. PS2... MVP Baseball.. all I really play. However, Mario Party is the all time Greatest drinking game. Eric
  19. That is amazing! Do you have any other coasters?? Crazy that all you use is paper and wire and can make that. I see you've been at Universal lately.. Eric
  20. I had a girlfriend who was afraid to death to get on anything... I finally (after begging, bribing, being angry and almost making her take a cab home) got her on the Comet at Hersheypark and she was fine.. didn't mind it. I think she was more angry that I made her RERIDE it in the 40 degree rain.. Got her on the Phoenix, Wildcat, Lightning Racer... was fine. She even got on the Tower of Terror after a year! Then we broke up. But the thought of going upside down terrified her and of course people never believe you when you say.. its worse looking at it then riding it... which is completly the case of the Great Bear and SDL. Eric Just kidding about the cab..
  21. Tough decision.. but Intamin seems to be the main company that pushes the envelope... then B&M will eventually come in and perfect it. Wonder if/when we'll ever see B&M break the 300 foot mark. Eric
  22. Awesome pics! I was on the Walt Disney College Program last year and they have an event for the CP's where they run Space Mountain with the lights on.. was really cool. I'll still never be able to hold my hands up the entire ride in the dark.
  23. Was watching some old videos today and I completely forgot about the best haunted house.. ever! Dracula's Castle at Wildwood, NJ. It's been gone for a few years but I remember growing up that thing used to scare the crap out of everyone. It had the usual cheap haunted house effects but also real people that snuck around the inside of the castle and would jump out from anywhere. It was great.. never the same ride twice. They also had a walk thru part but I never did that. Then of course.. there's Knoebels. One of the few haunted houses that you almost feel lost inside.. Knoebels... Mmmm
  24. Yeah they look the same. Storm Runner's are a lot brighter though. I wonder what that guy waiting for the front row is smiling about.. Hmm.. What'd u all think about the OTSR on Storm Runner. I didnt think they were bad except for the weird dump to the right element where u bash ure neck on it. Wonder how they'll affect Ka and RITA.. Eric
  25. I work at Dueling Dragons so every morning or when we add trains we get to be guinea pigs.. just pray they put everything back on right! Aside from that though.. I've never done much being a guinea pig. Was on the first train out on Batwing for the day once.. at like 3 pm when they opened it. Vekoma and being a guinea pig is something I don't want to have anything to do with. Eric
