  1. Here is an article about the expansion. http://www.azcentral.com/story/entertainment/kids/2015/04/16/draws-jack-hanna-incredible-wildlife-world-zoo/25884115/ Jimmy "Really excited for this parks future" Bo
  2. ^Old Tucson is going through a long process of fixing up the Merry-Go-Round. There is no Ferris Wheel but there are antique cars and a train that travels around the park. They also added a couple new set pieces last year and have more shows throughout the day. Another place to visit in Tucson is Trail Dust Town http://www.traildusttown.com This has a Merry-Go-Round, Ferris Wheel, Train with actual working animatronics, and a pretty bad@$$ stunt show. Plus, the steaks at the restaurant are pretty tasty. Jimmy "Yes, this is as good as our theme parks go in Arizona" Bo
  3. ^^Guy, it's in Phoenix on the West side by the 303 loop. The Sonoran Desert Museum is still in Tucson and not as awesome as this park. Jimmy "We still have Old Tucson Studios in Tucson though!" Bo
  4. For those of you that haven't been to the park...here are a couple photos from the park from my last visit...about 3 years ago. The park has had some more additions since then but at least those of you that aren't in Arizona can get excited for this park! It really is a great little park and when we visited, we had a blast! Onto the pictures Here we are...the entrance The carousel Entrance to Dragon World which had some awesome animal exhibits! Plus, it was indoors and air-conditioned! One of the many "dragons" The Sky Ride entrance. This ride takes you over the walkway and you get some great views of the exhibits. Here's some more of the sky ride! Their train was another "Must Do" while at the park. This was one of the best parts of the park. Be sure to bring your quarters! The giraffes were really hungry when we went. "Give me my FOOD!!!!" Mr. Turtle approves of this park and this picture! The Boat Ride takes you around some of the Australian animal exhibits. You could also walk around to these exhibits as well. Another awesome exhibit. And it is indoors with air-conditioning too! There are a ton of little animals in the Small mammal Exhibit. They were hilarious and very feisty. Another exhibit which was indoors in air-conditioning. They had some impressive reptiles/insects! Don't let this guy out of the exhibit! Snakes...why did it have to be snakes! Here's m y only picture of the Log Flume. It does cool you off quite a bit during the ride. Plus, you get to go "in" the aquarium and see a couple exhibits that you can only view from riding the Log Flume. And yes...they have penguins. This place was a great place for lunch. All in all, this park is pretty great and families really can enjoy the many exhibits and rides that they offer now. I can't wait till they offer some more and I think the state of Arizona will really enjoy this little park!
  5. I went to this park a couple years ago, right after they opened the Log Flume and Aquarium. It was a very nice, clean park and there is definitely room for expansion. The staff was super friendly and even though we went in April, it was still almost 100 degrees. I'm pretty excited to hear that "something" is coming to Arizona because frankly, living in this state as a roller coaster enthusiast is pretty damn hard. There just isn't too many coasters in this state. It's kind of crazy that the best Coaster in the state is at Schnepf Farms and hardly anyone has heard of that place unless they live in the Phoenix area. And yes, that coaster is better than the ones at Castles N Coasters because the airtime is INSANE! I'm really excited to see this development progress and I have no doubt that this will probably be the best coaster in Arizona. Plus, hearing that they are expanding it with some kids rides too is going to be a great addition of the families! Jimmy "Living in the heat!" Bo
  6. I did a Texas - New Mexico trip awhile back and here's what we did... Day 1 - Drove from Tucson to San Antonio Day 2 - Six Flags Fiesta Texas then San Antonio river walk at night (this place was pretty cool if you're into that sort of thing) Day 3 - Sea World San Antonio for half day then drove up to Arlington - The reason we were only there for a half day is that I grew up in San Diego (and went to Sea World San Diego quite a bit) so the shows weren't that appealing to me and we finished most of the animal encounters and rides early Day 4 - Six Flags Over Texas Day 5 - Drove to Amarillo and went to Wonderland Amusement park at night for the wristband nighttime deal Day 6 - Drove to Albuquerque and went to Cliff's after lunch Day 7 - Drove back to Tucson. If you have no interest in Wonderland then I suggest not driving that route because it was so freaking boring I almost fell asleep behind the wheel. But then we got caught in a storm that actually produced a tornado (although we did not see it) so that was kind of cool. Not sure on best times to go as we did this trip around May so most schools weren't out yet and the crowds in all the parks were pretty slim. Jimmy "Enjoy the driving!" Bo
  7. Awesome video of Bullet! I'm glad to see that this ride didn't "die". I remember seeing this on a TPR video way back in the day and I was like "WTF, is that thing?!?! I totally want to ride that thing!" Then when TPR went to Flamingoland in 2006 for the first TPR tour I was bummed to realize that the Bullet wasn't there anymore. Hopefully I'll make it down to this part of Mexico so I can enjoy some of these pretty crazy parks! Jimmy "Arizona is like Mexico minus the roller coasters...and with more Mexicans" Bo
  8. Can't wait to visit Disneyland. We are going as a family next February so I wonder if most of the "60th" stuff will still be around and if the Frozen stuff will come back next year too. I'm really liking the projections and also the parade floats look awesome! Jimmy "Too bad some of that food isn't free all the time" Bo
  9. I'm glad that I didn't visit this park. Once I saw the video and photo trip report that Robb posted when they visited it, I felt like that was enough for me. There are far better parks to waste time at and I'm glad that I have those hours of my life that I didn't visit this park. True, some of the rides looked "interesting" but nothing that looked like anything to write home about (except the Moody Blues dark ride.) Too bad a really bad hurricane didn't blow through that area this year and just blow the buildings down...that would have helped the demolition progress! Jimmy "Hard Rock Cafes are better than a park" Bo
  10. Downloaded it and it was pretty awesome! Robb, you said that you could watch it on the TV if you have a Roku (which we do) but how does it transfer to a Roku? Is there an app that needs to be on the Roku for it to work? Either way, I watched it on the Desktop and was pretty great. Loved the random mix of rides and coasters. Great job and can't wait for some more of this stuff in the future! Jimmy "I love being a ClubTPR member!" Bo
  11. Saw Into the Woods today and it was amazing! I didn't know anything about the original Broadway show and went into this not really knowing anything about the movie. It was soooo entertaining and hilarious during some scenes. The "Agony" song, holy crap!, everyone in the theater was cracking up and I loved how the Prince's over played their parts too. Quite entertaining. If anyone sees a movie this winter...it should be this one! Jimmy "Into the Woods is my new favorite musical" Bo
  12. Awesome stuff so far this year! Great reveals and some highly anticipated rides for next year. I think the S&S 4-D train looks awesome! And I can't believe that Joker animatronic!!! HOLY CRAP! I always love the time and effort TPR puts into showing us members the amazing things that go on and IAAPA and for that I thank you guys! You guys are truly amazing and I can't wait for more updates! Jimmy "My wife doesn't understand IAAPA but I LOVE IT!" Bo
  13. 1. How do you most often watch videos? (DVD, Blu-Ray, Digital Download, Streaming.) Streaming - Mostly Netflix or Hulu Plus 2. What streaming services do you use the most? Netflix for movies and Hulu Plus for TV shows 3. How many DVDs or Blu-Rays do you buy a year on average? About 5...not too many have been worth buying the past couple years except Marvel or Disney movies 4. Do you use a device like Apple TV, Roku, or Chromecast? We have a Roku and it's freaking AWESOME! 5. How much do you watch videos on YouTube versus all the mediums listed in the poll? I don't watch many videos on YouTube. I mainly only watch TPR videos on YouTube (or private videos my family sends of babies and family and such) Jimmy "TPR on Netflix?!?!?!" Bo
  14. Seriously...why in the bloody hell did you come to Arizona for Halloween?!?!? Anyway, Schnepf Farms is always a blast and the Miler Coaster has some insane ejector airtime in the back seat. Encanto park really is a nice place, unfortunately we've only been there while passing through Phoenix in the hot, hellish summers and the parks closes by noon because the rides become too damn hot for anybody. Next time you're in Arizona you should check out NightFall at Old Tucson Studios...it's no Universal Studios Haunt but it's still pretty awesome! Jimmy "Did you like the hot weather this Halloween?" Bo
  15. Maybe they will have some Frozen themed plaza or new attraction. And then connect it to the attraction at Epcot by a carriage of reindeers and have "Marshmallow" chase after you! (taking a page from Universal for connecting the Potter lands) Either way, I'm glad it's going away. I remember going to MGM Studios back in the early 90's and thinking the Chinese Theater was awesome looking. When I went back in 2009 and saw a big freaking hat in the way, I was a little disappointed. All these closures of rides definitely means something new (and possibly big) is coming. Jimmy "TRON Coaster?!?!?!" Bo
  16. I always watch YouTube videos on my desktop. I always go on YouTube and go straight to "My Subscriptions" and see what's new from those channels. TPR had a very active September and I went on YouTube nearly every day looking at the amazing videos TPR has posted. I don't comment too often but when I do I usually comment to something relevant to the video and not bad mouth or criticize the video in any way. Oh, and I "Like" every TPR video because they are just that awesome! Jimmy "Maybe I should update my YouTube page" Bo
  17. Amazing report! I've always wanted to do this event for so many years. Maybe one day I'll get to it. The videos you posted were great for those of us that can't make it to the event. It was also fun seeing my friend in the Boo to You Parade as one of the cowboys (he's only been working there for about 4 months and loves it!). I am really impressed with the Alvey clan actually doing a family costume!!! Pretty great stuff guys! Jimmy "Next year family costume should be Frozen with Robb as Olaf" Bo
  18. For me, it would have to be Superman (how can I not like it since I'm in the front in Robb's picture). It was an amazing ride AND it had theming throughout the beginning. Pretty awesome stuff. I agree with Chuck and that the Wooden Wild Mouse rides were crazy insane because they didn't feel like the brakes were on at all! As far as flat rides go, I think Giant Drop takes the cake for me. I love drop rides and that thing was intense. It was pouring down rain and we still rode it, it was incredible. Jimmy "Can I go back to that side of the world now?" Bo
  19. YAY! Another awesome trip report from none other than Chuck! Great start and already some humorous comments to your pictures. Can't wait for the rest of the report (which I'm sure will be done in the next 4 weeks). So how dirty did you feel after the first day...scratch that...Day 0 of the trip? And Bud Light is not considered beer...its the equivalent of drinking your own piss to fend off dehydration. Jimmy "Chuck Rocks!" Bo
  20. Truly an amazing trip report and some great photos and videos of this park. I haven't even heard of this park but with the detail and descriptions that you gave in this report, if I'm ever in the area I will definitely try to make it out to this park. Great stuff! Jimmy "This is the best Dream World I have ever seen" Bo
  21. Pretty awesome! I love the character meet and greet area. Did they have something like that before? I don't remember that as a kid or even in the recent years. Way to go Knott's for really doing a great job at not destroying the family feel but still updating some classic rides. I remember the Calico Mine Ride when I was young and it was my favorite ride! Glad to see it's as amazing as ever! Jimmy "Did Gertrude meet Woodstock?" Bo
  22. ^ My dad kept saying that the Western part of South Dakota is a lot more interesting as well. There is something there that has faces on a mountain but I don't care too much about it...it's no Expedition Everest or Matterhorn. ^^ Do you enjoy your adult entertainment at Kandi's? We sure saw some interesting people go in and out of there. To add to an earlier response about the Ninja Turtles ride...yeah...that thing looked crazy! There were a couple of people that knew what they were doing and were flipping like crazy. Then there were younger kids just cruising around, not really doing much. It's one of those rides where you can definitely make yourself puke! Jimmy "Everyone should attempt to visit every state!" Bo
  23. ^Nope. Pretty sure it means "Circle of Life" and the Lion King Theme song plays while you go around the Ferris Wheel. Jimmy "Don't believe everything you read on the internet" Bo
  24. I went there a long time ago when I was a kid. I don't really remember much but I did find this AMAZING commercial from 1984... Jimmy "Visit Santa Year Round!" Bo
