So my mom was going through some old pictures and she found some of when she went to Disneyland in 1958 (she was only 4). The pictures aren't of best quality but it just amazes me to see Disneyland in its early years. Before all the trees grew, before all the hotels surrounded it, before DCA took over the old parking lot, before Big Thunder, before Tomorrowland, when there was the skyride, Chicken of the Sea, and Fantasyland...back when it was an amusement park where families could have a funfilled day and forget about everything going on outside of the park. Here you go... And I leave you with this, the horse and carriage with a fare of 10 cents Band playing in front of the Golden Horseshoe The Mark Twain The Skyride and more of Fantasyland...still very crowded back then The Skyride and some of Fantasyland Here's an overview of soon-to-be Tomorrowland. Crazy huh? Notice that these Autopia cars didn't have the steering line underneath...I guess they had two different types of Autopia's back then That kid is either screaming his head off cuz he's excited or ready to get off...but he sure is yelling My uncle getting strapped in My mom and my uncle driving the autopia cars, notice that this one is for the little kids cuz of the steering line underneath The autopia, before Chevron took it over Even Dumbo was there...and where are all the hotels and skyrises? And even more Storybook Land More Storybook Land... Storybook Land... You thought I was kidding about the name? Look behind my great grandpa Chicken of the Sea Pirate Ship First off, here's the castle...still looks tiny

Sadly to say, my buddy Silent K and I are going to camp out thursday night for the PS3 system. We are nerds but we have been waiting for this for some time now. PLus, we'll have beer to keep us warm and there will probably be a Photo "Trip" Report if I can find my camera -

Guy, we were going to call you but we figured that was your day with Kim Possible so we'd thought to let you two have the day to yourselves. Larry, thanks for bringing that up And Dallas, Project X's first drop was fast but right after it, they had the trims on so much that we creeped around the rest of the ride. Maybe they were afraid Tom was going to fly out so they slowed it down. Tom is in Vegas right now getting some strip club credits...i mean coaster credits -

So we head off to DCA and D-Land for 2 hours each and do everything in DCA and the important stuff in D-Land... Here we go... No it was time for Pirate's...or as Don called it "Hurricane Katrina the experience...the flooded Bayou" Big Thunder was running all big and thundery. Tom and I sat in the death seat but we managed to survive...thank god! The mansion was decked out for the holiday season So after DCA closed we head over to Disney and say hello to Disney's Largest Paper weight This is what you call a ghost train, seriously. CA creamin is a haunted rolly coaster So here's some of the pier at night...cool? Yeah, it actually looks better than Coney Beach Now This is Big Bear Lake...I mean Grizzly River Rapids (GRR) This is the Sun Wheel without a big fat head in front of it This is the sun wheel...Jeff Johnson counts it as 16 credits cuz he's a whore like that A shot of the sunset Time for Tom to experience "REAL" California driving...mainly LA driving Oh geez...the suns going down and I guess it doesn't look so bad at night Time for the best replica park of Coney Beach in the US Side boob shot of Cinderella = hot Monsters Inc. I was very impressed with this ride. I think it still shows that Disney can still make really good dark rides as long as you dont have to wait 3 hrs for it Sweet, only a 13 minute wait Terror of Tower...where you drop and vomit your 5 cups of coffee...Tom... Time to go to Not so good Tower, but first we have to walk through DCA Mainstreet ALIFORN...NEW PARK!!!! SWEET!!!! -

Next Day was Knott's, Disney CA Adventure, and D-Land...it was hot but still fun. I met up with Tom, Don and Monica and we had a very eventful and extremely hot day...did I mention it was hot? Here we go... Just an idea of how hot it was...here ya go. 100 freakin degrees! We say good-bye to Knott's and Snoopy as we head to Pat and Oscar's for grub! It was so hot outside that Tom decided to cool off a bit Where the hell was everyone? Tom and Don sat in the very front, me in the back, and some random dude in the middle...that was it We decided to run back over to GhostRider and I'm sure glad we did because the station was extremely full Montezooma's Revenge.... BACKWARDS!!!!!! Ryan, this one's for you dude. Double pounding Non-German Tom!!! (Plus the jaguar's in the background are pounding each other Next was Jaguar...or as the brits pronounce it... Jog-u-wire There was a lot of british cursing coming from this vertical loop...I wonder if Tom has bloody ears yet? So we all watched Tom as he got his Boomrangizzle credit Log "Sit Down!" Flume Signature Shot! Mullet was the same meh! except for the "forceless" helix Next was (as Don calls it) Silver Mullet! Tom and Don are ready to get their ride on GhostRider...through the trees! Almost as cool as Coastersaurus through the trees! We decided to head to GhostRider before it warmed up too much and got broken in...plus the copper train was on the track and that train seems to run the best. Knott's...America's First Theme Park? Sure, whatever! -

Now it's time for some pictures that will probably get me banned from TPR but hopefully Robb and Elissa will be nice and at least let me finish me Trip Report... So after LegoLand I had to take Tom to the best burgers in the world...IN - N - OUT! -
Non-German Tom decided to fly out during his holiday and I met up with him at a few parks in So Cal. Unfortunately, Tom brought some nasty hot weather with him so the parks were extremely hot but still loads of fun. I mean come on...who doesn't have fun with a british chap in America? Here we go.... Time to play with Legos!!!!! And some symbol that means peace or freedom or "Don't mess with the US or we'll bomb you" Some famous singing place in the continent where an animal killed the best croc hunter ever Some tall structure in the country where french fries come from Some place over on some continent where there are a lot of people Somewhere over on the East Coast Some place in Northern California Alright! MiniLand Time! Here's Tom with his First Class British Porn Star...no, not Lou...Queen Lizzy Hey! It's me with my governator AWENAULD Now am I the only one that see's something wrong in this picture? Does that Dinosaur have an erection? This is part of the Spalsh Battle...we decided not to go on it because it was only 90 degrees outside...IN NOVEMBER! This was the new Pirate's Cove that just opened this year...It had a Spalsh Battle, Sooooper small log flume, and one of those water play areas where a bucket full of water drops on poor defenseless children And we did, we finished the race before any of the other teams put their fire out. (If you know how Fire Academy works, we kicked butt. If you don't know how it works...then just picture a dragster going against a horse and carriage...we were the dragster Alright...Fire Academy. It was time to kick some serious butt But needless to say, Tom was a horrible boat driver and he fell overboard and a shark ate him Shark-"MMMM, british flesh!" Cuz Tom wanted to drive an american boat where the steering wheel was in the center Then it was time for Skipper School! Why you ask? Of course I had to do level 5 again...Tom wimped out and only did level 4 (i guess the 5 cups of coffee finally was catching up to him) But we both liked it so much that we had to do a re-ride Then, about half a second after the ride started...we started to question our decision ...we decided to do the highest intensity experience possible Here's one of those robitic arm knights jousting theme things...I have never been on one of these before and well..... ARRR!! I'm a big scary dragon. Behind me is the best ride in the park. ARRR!! Seriously...I had to blur this picture just so it would seem like it was going fast. They had the trims on waaaayyyyy toooooo much Next was Project X...X for extremely slow! This one's for you Big Mike. We saw this guy and he reminded us of you...You rock Big Mike! We had fun blasting people with the water cannons...poor defenseless kids Then we headed over to Aquazone! Not quite Aquaman but pretty close to being completely opposite That's the most action that LegoChick has seen in minutes! I decided to play with a friendly lion...but then he turned out to be not so friendly when he ate me Tom decided to play with the water fountains...but they got thier revenge and trapped him in a wall of water Wow! Coastersaurus through the trees! Almost as cool as Voyage through the trees! It Is! Holy British Porn Star Panties! What's that through the trees? Is that a credit? Yep, it's gunna be a busy day...the parking lot is already full! Here we be...my "home park". Only 5 minutes from my house but since So Cal is known for traffic, it took us 20 minutes to get there Even my neighbor's cat was around to say good-bye Here we are having an American Breakfast...eggs and bacon and Tom drinking his 5 cups of coffee...weird brits Here's where it all starts...my house in sunny Encinitas, Cali

I'm going tomorrow Ryan, so i'm not going to be able to go again in a couple weeks cuz i dont feel like paying another arm and a leg to visit disney more than once in a month. Sry dude, but if you're in the san diego area hit me up and ill be sure to run you over with my car...i mean hang out -
So are we talking about horror mazes at theme parks or just in general? If we are talking about horror mazes at theme parks I would have to say 13 Axe Murder Manor at Haunt with your eyes closed...scared the living crap outta me and there is probably still a stain on the pavement. If we are talking about horror mazes in general I would have to say the Haunted Hotel in downtown San Diego...that place still scares me and it changes every year with new rooms, freaks, effects, and scenery, and just plain gore. Awesome maze!

Supreme Scream is 256 feet tall and you only drop like 5 feet because S&S towers kick that much butt. And as for the snapping turtle...thanks for the animal lesson for the day...i'll be sure to keep my sarcasm to myself next time. Non German Tom, let me know when you're here and we will cause chaos.

So there you have it...Knott's in 2 days and 2 nights. Great time and I thank everyone for making my experience a blast. Here's one last pic for your desktop wallpapers It's ok to comment now, Thanks Bye Bye

Finally some Haunt photos...after a boring Thursday night Saturday was much better. Even though it was sold out and soooper crowded we still hit almost everything. Haunt was very good this year and the mazes were scary as hell. Going through 13 Axe Murder Manor with your eyes shut and having someone guide you is the best experience if you want to piss your pants. Dead Idol was my first ever experience with American Idol stuff and it was awesome (mainly because the person playing Paula Abdul had a couple nip slips when she was dancing ) Enjoy the pics Last show of the night was Marty Putz...freakin hilarious. Totally go see this guy if you haven't already Silver Bullet through it's corkscrewed goodness Angry cave man Lou likes his pig (then I got yelled at for taking that picture because it was inside a maze) Xcelerator with the black sky as it's back drop...Sexy and devilish at the same time Silver Bullet at night, purty aint it? But Freak-O Jess and I kept ourselves busy by making faces at the camera You can't really tell from this picture but if you've ever been to Knott's and know where the Feary Tales and Asylum maze is, this is the line...near the entrance to GhostRider (in other words...LONG!!!) While I was looking for another maze to go to, a "talent" stole my map and then made a paper airplane out of it...pretty entertaining since it took her like 5 minutes to make an airplane Then we found the Beer Garden...yes Derek, this is beer so stop drooling now Oh yes, time for the "Hanging show". This year's show wasn't as good as last year's but it was still awesome. Jack Swallow's and Britney red neck Spears made the show This is what a tall steel object looks like at night Rachel and I saw some interesting hairdo's while waiting in line...is that a mullet? or is it a tail? WTF! Great Pirate Maze near the front of the park...the best part was the midget pirate at the end...everyone loves midgets! Hello Xcelerator at night with the Buena Park smog hovering over you At least we had entertainment with us...Doug blowing up an inflatable hammer and then running around hitting people with it...great stuff Let's back up a bit and see then crowd...Yeah, that's at 8:30 pm and there's still a line into the place! So here we are, Haunt time!
-
We ate at this place for lunch that I didn't even know existed in Knott's...the Ghost Town Grill. Awesome place and I recommend it to anyone that goes to knott's. Here's some more pics...enjoy Doug started to get hungry so that means it's time to head to TGI Friday's for some grub and then come back for Haunt! Here's the stage during the day for one of the shows at night...Hopefully we'll see this one tonight! Ferris Wheel is all decked out with Spider webs and such Looks like an S&S freefall ride...oh wait...it is! Looks like an Intamin freefall ride...but it's not...just the Sky Tower A snapping turtle! All the way from Busch Gardens Tampa! Riddle me this? What animal lives at the bottom of Silver Bullet's drop? I did mention we didn't ride Boomrangizzle? Snoopy ice cream bars for the kids...but I was cool so the waitress gave me one Great food, service, and drinks...and..... Ghost Town Grill, great place to eat

Not done yet and please wait till I'm done uploading...thanks So we didn't see any shows and only made it in 4 mazes on Thursday night I decided to go back on Saturday night with my buddy Doug (some may remember him from my credit whoring Trip Report). Saturday was sold out and extrememly packed but we still got in all of the mazes and saw all the shows...here's some pics from Doug's and my travels... While Doug decided to get in the car Ryan found unlocked 2 days earlier...still unlocked I decided to take out my anger on a whack the crap out of a poor defenseless noob game Extremely wet...I ran off the bridge after I took this picture and mowed over some little kid...but I didn't get wet! You get wet This is a water ride Doug got his reach around credit for the day Wetting myself made me hungry...so I ate Bigfoot's Meat I was so excited on Bigfoot rapids I wet myself Yeah, that's water coming into the raft Doug doing his best at being a big, fat, hairly Bigfoot beast (aka. an ACEr) Time to go get wet on Bigfoot Rapids And there you have a horseshoe. Exciting? It only took him about 2 mintues to make one ...then you create some steam from the hotness... Here's how you make a horseshoe. First you heat 'er up...then you wack it This is a lumber jack...no wait! A blacksmith, my bad Yay, the dog leg turn over the parking lot...Look! TGI Friday's to the right! Doug is excited to get his kidney smacked into a new zip code Time for GhostRider...or should I say time for a kidney punch This is a ride...I totally forget it's name...it's on the tip of my brain...Oh well, i'll call it a spinning twirling flat ride for now Hello you...nice to see you Mr. Cobra Roll Doug and the Cobra Roll of goodness in his power I guess I was feeling patriotic at the time I took this picture...or maybe thinking of the Patriot which I still need to ride So this is Silver Bullet...again...and we marathoned it 6 times in a row Fetal position and eye goggles on...great on-ride photo AGAIN! We rock at these Doug was so happy he grabbed his goods in excitement And it's open so Doug can finally get his Xcelerator credit We head to Knott's Saturday after a huge thunderstorm the night before and head straight to Xcelerator Video games, beer, hooka, definitely a guys night IN Time for beer and hooka. No, hooka is not illegal unless your under 18...it's just flavored tobacco

So since Bob chickened out on RipTide, we strapped him into the Screamin Swing and Supreme Scream...He hated us for that. But here's some more pics...enjoy So after an extremely unproductive and uneventful night at the Haunt, everyone headed home while I headed to Dougie's house Here's the gang left to right: Me, Cave man Lou, random yelling Bob, Freak-O Jessica, birthday boy Ryan "Silent K", and Ryan's sis sassy Sara We headed back to TGI Friday's for Ryan's birthday dinner...yes Derek, this is a beer so stop drooling We left Knott's and had to visit our beloved Knott's cock But we all got wet Nothing to see here...just four guys in a log...No we're not gay Did I mention we didn't ride Boomerang? Bob doing his best job at pretending to surf...Barrels!!! ...so he passed as we rode it another 5 times without having to get off To dry off we rode Supreme Scream, Bob pooped his pants the first time he rode it... And then a wave decided to come over the entire raft and soak us all Ryan screaming like a little school girl Karma was catching up with Bob for not riding RipTide...yeah, he's wet Bigfoot Rapids time...Yeah, we all got wet and here are the pics to prove it Raise your hands if you're angry cave man about to ride a giant swing Bob leaving a stain on the seat of Screamin Swing Screamin Swing time
-
So it was my buddy's birthday on Thursday and he wanted to get the crap scared out of him so I took him to Knott's. We decided to go during the day and ride all the rides and then hit up the Haunt at night. All I have to say is thank god there was a TGI Friday's near by...I'll let the photos explain the trip Please wait to comment till all photos are uploaded...Thanks! There Bob goes again...taking pictures of nature. Seriously...WTF Oh my god! The ride ate their bodies and only their legs are left! Well, actually it's RipTide time...and we were the only three on the ride cuz Bob was too chicken to do it You know what time it is? It's nature picture taking time Gotta love that first drop of extreme woody goodness Bob likes wood For those of you that don't know...GhostRider is a woody Going up zeee lift hill with a full plate of SUN in my face So we head back to Knott's and hit up GhostRider This is our waitress Catrina and the birthday boy...Catrina rocks and hooked us up and had some drinks with us (hopefully her boss doesn't read this site) We decided to take a break from Knott's and head over to TGI Friday's for some "birthday drinks" We enjoyed Silver Bullet so much we decided to show it some love...Our stains might still be there So here's the "forceless" part of Silver Bullet...*cough* NOT *cough* My turn to yell randomness while going through what Knott's employees call, the "half inversion"...WTF Bob still yelling random stuff going through the loop Here's the freaks...Bob is yelling random stuff in the front, Lou is angry cave man, and Ryan is like "Yay it's my birthday!" Vertical Loop goodness...YAY! Next up, Silver Bullet...forceless my @$$ But then Lou and Bob ruined his wish as they got in the car with him Ryan got a birthday wish...it was unlocked So then joking around we decided to see if one of the cars was unlocked... Ryan likes touching hot rods Gay Pride Car...Helloooooo Time to look at hot, sexy cars...oolala Or assume fetal position, grab the front of the car, and point at random flying objects works too Smile for the camera! YAY! People are having fun...WEEEEEE! Oh Xcelerator...you look so hot right now First things first...head to Xcelerator and get our ride on Entrance all decked out for Haunt

I had a friend nearly fall to her death on a Zipper. The door opened, she flew out but hung on with her arm with the door slamming on her arm. She broke her arm and had gashes all over it. So my point is...they look fun but I stay away from them thanks..... Edit: BTW, great stuff Dave and very disappointing for only fried twinkies and oreos...what happened to fried rodents? -
