So I just saw the "all new" Wild Waves (formerly Wild Waves and Enchanted Village) website, and the first things that stick out to me is the video they have that is supposed to be for Timberhawk, but it is really the SFDK version of Roar. Gambler seemed to be the right video, but Klondike gold rusher was some other wild mouse and the Wild Thing (Arrow Loop-Screw) didn't even show up. To be fair, they could still be working out the kinks and slowly changing things, but after seeing the general displeasure with Darien Lake from opening weekend, I kind of wonder if this PARC company is the right company to be running these parks. Either way, I can't really judge the place until I go in July, which will be my first time in about 8 or 9 years.

Do the vekoma woodies have their own trains or do they have the evil gerustler trains? -
From what I have seen others show, I think the worst was Fantazy Land as shown by Dave For my own expirience, I haven't been to a park I hated, but I would say the one that is probably the lowest on my list would be Family Kingdom. Swamp Fox is a good coaster with some good air in the back, but they have nothing else besides that. When I went there last July, I think I rode Swamp Fox about 12 times, and only rode the log flume once, their mexican themed sally dark ride once, and their shoot-up/shoot-down tower ride once. I wasn't really impressed by the place, i wish it was this place that was closed insted of the pavilion, and swamp fox relocated. at least the pavilion had other good rides. But at least swampy is still open

-Kraken: sorry to hear about your day at Carowinds not being too grand, when Melissa and I went it was really slow, but they still had both trins on Top Gun going. I woul dguess something was wrong with the other train, but I can't really say since I don't manage the place -307: Top Gun is awesome!! When you get a chance to visit, I think you will like it!

I think you will find that working at any amusement park with housing will charge rent for the housing. Usually it is cheaper, (like between $16-32 a week at Cedar Point), but it isn't free.

Great pictures! My step-dad has been talking about a trip out to Las Vegas next March with me and my step-brother. That would be a fun trip! -
Lower Airfare to Europe

You know, I have never traveled with southwest with others. So I can really say yeay or ney to that, but I could see the issue you are talking about. It would be bad if you and a friend were in Group C, and all that's left are all middle seats. -
Has This Ever Happened To You?

I recall onceat the Mantis, the guy in the control booth said something to the extent of "Thank you for riding Dominator, and enjoy the rest of your day here at Geauga Lake!" I was probably the only person in the station other than the other ride hosts that laughed -

Thanks for the suggestions Willski, AirTran to Atlanta may not be a bad idea. My fiancee and I are flying to Detroit in a little less than a month, and we are taking AirTran from RDU to DTW via Atlanta. Turned out to be cheaper than Southwest which is usually the cheapest for going from RDU to DTW. -

Did the trains start going "La laaaa, la laaaa, la laaaaa." each time they passed? Were you shown the way by the magical leoplerodon? Sorry, I couldn't help it. So what did you think about the movie? I thought that the story lines they had could have been better done in two movies. It just seemed like there was too much happening -
I am guessing she did not have kids since she was 19, but I hope that her friend will make it all right. I agree with you 307, I think that her family members will have a hard time with it. As for the necessity of the railings and catwalks. I think that if they made the railings too far away, it could make evacuating a little harder, because when you get off, you probably grab the handrail, and if it is too far away, it would be difficult to keep your balance getting off if it was at a downhill/uphill point. Someone mentioned that the catwalk served it's purpose, which I agree, after the fact, it did infact do what it was supposed to. I think it would be worse had the same senario occured, but say she hit her head on a really close object of some sort, and there was no catwalk. It could be that much longer that people would have to wait to be evacuated from the ride since they would have to get a ladder or cherry picker or something else.

So it is kind of like the new Q2Q system at Dollywood. It would be be nice if other SF parks did it too. -
Barry........ That was simply great! I don't know what it was about that (other than the fact that my friend Sean and I have been obsessed with those parodies of G.I. Joe for the past few weeks).

I have been wondering the same thing, I seem to have issues with the video getting choppy when ever there is more than two or three rides in the park. It meets ir exceeds most minimum requirements, just curious about the video card

Six Flags T-shirts

I wouldn't even buy the arguement that teens spend more money. I see families all the time who have thos refillable cups and they usually play a game or two, and buy a souvinier. I think this would also be the same as say professional sports. A family is more likly to buy food and souviniers if it is a once in a great while thing for them to go, but a season ticket holder is probably not as likly to do so. The only thing that goes against that logic is that not very many teenagers have season tickets for a sports team, but I think that when you go more frequently, generally you are less inclined to buy stuff there. -

Awesome report! If only other parks could follow the same pricing for q-bots anywho, all three parks are places I hope to go to sometime soon. I have yet to go that far west in the south (TN, GA area) for theme parks, but all three look like great places. -
Those look like great additions to Kennywood. I would love to go back too, haven't beenfor about two years. I definatly need some patato patch fries!!!! I like the theming they have for cosmic chaos. Great Pictures!

Wild Escape Theme Park, WV
carolinacaniac replied to a topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I don't know about Wild Escapes history, but if I remember correctly, the same company mentioned creating something a lot like this some where in the Midwest (Kansas?) and it never came about. That was what I was refering to, but I could be wrong. -

I know for me, leaving from Raleigh-Durham (RDU), to get to Europe, the cheapest I have found was around $1000. I have looked at D.C. before too, and found it only saved $100 or so. I know sometimes you can get som great deals, but they usually occur when I wouldn't even dream of traveling because I don't have the time for it. I might have to look into Noxegon's idea too sometime and see how that would work. But what kind of bag restrictions would they have? -
Six Flags T-shirts
carolinacaniac replied to Medusa1861's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I just realised that at the TPR meet at SFA that i didn't see any coaster shirts beeing sold. I had bought a superman shirt there laster year, but the shop was also so out of order (early season organizing????), so maybe that may have had something to do with it.
