  1. Top Gun is a good choice for #100. It is a great ride. When I rode it back in April, it was running fast and intense. The back was very intense as someone else said, but the front is a great ride too.
  2. Where is this park in relation to the other parks on this trip?
  3. Great stuff so far! Makes me really wanna make it to one of the trips next year. Funny how an SLC seems to be more popular when it has an extra helix.
  4. I think it opened in '04 or '05, I rode it last year but I don't think it was new in '06 Here is my list: 1996- Mantis (Cedar Point) 2005- Italian Job Stunt Track (Kings Island) 2006- El Toro (Six Flags Great Adventure) As for Home Parks: 2006- Italian Job Turbo Coaster (Kings Dominion) 2007- Griffon (Busch Gardens Europe)
  5. ^Way to take one for the team!! I wonder how the general public will take it when it opens back up. Are they going to be reluctant to take a ride because of the accident or will they rush to it when it opens back up to try it once?
  6. Hey Robb and Elissa, any idea if Texas would be earlier or later in May, or is that still up in the air? I think I would set my plane tickets up to have an extra day no matter where the meeting point is, for in Houston or the Dallas area, I would love to catch a Rangers or Astros game. If it is going to be San Antonio, it would be fun to check out the Alamo and Riverwalk.
  7. ^No kidding, I think a lot of people go a little overboard on how bad things are sometimes. I agree with everyone supporting Robb. It was good that you did not sell out your true thoughts just to get on T.V.
  8. You probably are right about that one. I wonder if other park chains with 2nd generation free falls would do the same. (maybe not as long, but at least a couple days. I hope for the best for the girl.
  9. Funny how you included our beloved NC fast food of Bojangles! While the food isn't bad, I usually don't go here in Greenville because everyon that works at a Bojangles here in Greenville seems pissed off at the world. Great Pictures of GL Wes!
  10. My Fiancee Melissa and I are going to be in the Bremerton area July 11th-17th where I used to live (My dad still lives there). We are planning on going to Wild Waves on the 15th. Some of the other things we may do include a day in Seattle which would include a Mariners game and a little trip down memory lane in bremerton and Seattle.
  11. Makes me wonder how much of that record-breaking speed is lost because of the lighter trains and now the trims if they did in fact add them
  12. At Knoebels last year my step-brother Kellen, Melissa and I were in line for the Skooters. Kellen told us how he thought it would be great to hit someone so as to cause a pile up that no one could get out of. Well he didn't get his wish to cause the pile up, but at one point as I was making a turn around the corner, I got nail on the side and caught-up into the wall, and this cause EVERYONE to get into the pile, and they had to stop the ride to pull me away from the wall, then restart the ride.
  13. I agree with you on the hope that Cyclone will still be around. I have been wanting to ride it for a long time. Almost went last August but we decided to go to Knoebels instead.
  14. So does the lift slow down as it gets to the top? that is what it looked like to me. But it looked like it picked the speed back up as it went around the curve. Maybe not all of it's speed, but a good portion of it.
  15. Something I havn't really seen on this thread yet is when you have the groups that want to ride togeather on the same train but in different rows. I think most of you will agree that in most cases. people in this situation with uneven rows, the pair in the shorter row will let others in front. There was one instance where a kid behind me inline for Big Bad Wolf at BGE asked me if it was okay for him and his friend to ride ahead of me. While he at least asked, I thought it was a little rude still to do so. What do you all think?
  16. True. I may have also assumed that they did not change the wheels when they brought the old Hurricane trains to KI. I don't know they they didn't, so I made a false assumption, so you could definatly be right that it stalled because of the wheels. When I first read about it, I thought it was at the bottom of the rosebowl, and not towards the top. I am with the few who would be more then willing to do it once to see if I can walk comfortably the rest of the day. Who knows
  17. Yeah, I think I assumed that it was the axles that would need the loosening up, not the wheels themselves. Sorry, wrong thought.
  18. I don't know that the wheels would need to be broken in, since they were probably broken-in when they were on the Hurricane in Myrtle Beach.
  19. Erie Falls at Cedar Point's Soak City. My innertube capsized and I nailed my head on the slide. Because of that I get nervous with any innertube slide
  20. The Kangaroo Bounce is a flat ride that has cars shaped like kangaroos that go up and down in circles. I think it is made by Zamperla? Anywho, glad to hear that even in that good old Pacific Northwest weather you can still have a good time! I am looking forward to going there next month.
  21. Well, if the g-trains failed on a slower, lower coaster like Raging Wolf Bobs, I wonder how they will handle a faster, bumpier Son of Beast?
  22. Wow, that is pretty sad. you would think they would have used the picture they used when they announced it's reopening instead, but i guess not. I would still like to get down there when it opens to take it for a spin, even if it is not nearly as good as el toro
  23. Oh how I wish I had the time to get up to Jackson! I would love to try this out for some sweet airtime on El Toro!
  24. Thanks Chuck, now everytime I see smokey the bear I am gonna think he is saying "Only You Can Prevent Drug Trafficing!" Great Report as I said before. Would you say that Kingdom Coaster was like a more intense Scooby Doo then a slightly smaller mid-size coaster?
  25. This past monday, my co-worker Josh and I went to Six Flags America for the day. I had my pass and a Bring-a-friend-free coupon. Unfortunatly since my camera went dead, I was not able to take any pictures on the trip, but I thought I would share with you all what our day was like. We met at Lowes where we work at about 8:15 and took off for SFA, Arriving at the front gate around 1 (not bad since mapquest says that it takes about 5 hours to get the SFA from mine and Melissa's apartment). The good news was that the park was pretty dead. The only ride with a significant line was Batwing since it only had one train going. Everything else was about a one-three train wait. Josh and I first took a spin on Roar in the second to last row. I can see why not very many people would re-ride right away if they sat in the row. Still a good coaster, but a much better ride in the front. We then took a lap on Superman. A great ride still with good airtime. We then walked back to my car so Josh could grab some cash he left in the car. We then decided it was time for Batwing. The line was horrible, for while it only was in one and a half of the longer switchbacks, it still took about and hour and 15 minutes since they only had the one train and also only two people to check the entire train. Later on I would begin to notice the lack of staffing throughout the park as many rides were closed. Only Octopus was listed at the front gate as being closed, but many others were as well, such as Tower of Doom, The flying ships, Avalanche, The round-up, Renagade Rapids, The train, and the Bull Ride. It seemed like they were kind of missing the point of being Family Friendly since a lot of the rides families could do togeather were not open. I personally was fine with it because all of the coasters were open and that is was Josh and I came for. but I could see how it would frustrate many families. After our lap on Batwing, Josh wanted to run back to the car to drop something off, so while he did that I finally got my Joker's Jinx cedit (Number 130!). I really liked Joker's Jinx. It is a great ride, and although the layout is exactly the same as Flight of Fear, there is not Mid-Course Brake, so this thing flies through the second half of the track, which was a lot of fun! Josh wasn't too keen on taking a ride on it, so that is why I rode it when he ran to the car. I managed to get 2 laps, one in the front, and one about mid-train. We then went over towards Wild One. After our earlier experience with Roar, Josh thought Wild One would be the same so he sat one out and tried the near by games. Wild One was fast and had good airtime as usual. And it tracked awesome. This ride was in the middle row of the last car. After it was time for a spin on Two Face. I started to feel bad because Josh was not riding much latly, for he wasn't much for rides that goes backwards, but he said he was cool with me taking a spin since it also had no line. Man did I get my head knocked around. No a bad ride, but it wasn't the best ride I had on it. We then decided to take a couple more laps on Superman. We took a ride in the front and the second row. The air time was awesome! After our two laps on superman, I took one more lap on Roar, this time in the front, and as I figured, the front row is much better of a ride. We ended our day with head bashing fun on mind eraser. Josh said he had enough and I was cool with it, so we headed out at around 6:30. Before we headed back home, we went on a little driving tour of Washington D.C. since Josh had never been before. A few times I let him hop out of the car so he could take a few pictures (wish I would have thought to see if he would have been willing to bring the camera in the park, but that's ok). And we were on our way home around 8:00, and pulled into lowes at about 1 in the morning. We both had a good time, and I hope that I can make at least one more trip up before too long.
