  1. My personal favorite would be the any of the Schwarzkopf Jet Star models
  2. I think something on the scale of SCBB would work nicely up here we get many more tourists than you think the areas main economy is based on tourism. Just based on rented hotel rooms alone Humboldt County had around 1.3 million visitors last year, and putting that aside a park would do well here with the locals as well as there is simply nothing else to do around here
  3. Oh and by Nor Cal I mean actual northern California not the Bay Area I never understood why people in the Bay Area call it Nor Cal when I am 8 hours further north than they are
  4. Northern California desperately needs one the nearest parks to us are in upper Oregon or the Bay Area of California nearly 300 miles away
  5. Yes the Giant Dipper is going to be very hard to beat in my eyes as well So the big question is are they going to get this thing built ASAP and have it open by Haunt or is it going to open next season, they are starting the process very early
  6. Me too it really looked like an incredible park it really was the roller coaster capitol of the world in it's time
  7. Of course this is good news at least someone is willing to give an old classic Schwarzkopf a new life and not scrap it now I would be super thrilled to hear similar news regarding the Bullet . . .
  8. I found one more post card from Riverview Park that I somehow missed
  9. Yes they are I have a bunch of pictures of that area before they cleared it in 2000 one of these days I will get around to posting them
  10. I believe the new GCI was designed around the existing terrain and if there are any alterations they will be minimal although, I would imagine they will remove the remains of the Whizzer
  11. I don't know about that they may have decided to aim for families when they realized they would be required to jump through hoops to build anything decent, I think the whole Hypersonic fiasco might have been a major player in the decision to tone the park down but at the same time several of the family friendly rides were removed as well so I don't know
  12. Im not 100% certain if they were the ones who killed the TA2k I do know it was one of the companies on that side of the park , the park had cleared land and put up construction walls giving hints about the new ride by listing how quickly various things could reach 80MPH and of course removed the train and after that point and all of that work had already been put in the project was quite suddenly cancelled
  13. Also keep in mind that a good portion of that land was cleared in 2000 for construction of Hypersonic XLC which of course didn't happen due to the same bastards that have delayed the current wooden coaster project I wouldn't hold my breath until it goes vertical Sorry about the quality but this is the land clearing done in 2000 for the TA2K
  14. Well if it does come down to maintenance or lack of for that matter I doubt they will be sharing that information
  15. These postcards are from Crystal Beach - from the way they are worded they came along shortly after the park closed
  16. I'm sure it could have been Cedair Fair just doesn't want anyone to have their sloppy seconds
  17. ^ Seriously couldn't they at the very least have passed it on to Gerstlauer for a refurb and resale
  18. Im still thinking there was an accident durring testing if it was just a matter of the Ohio inspectors being brutal certainly they would have tried to pass it off on another park in a different state before deciding to scrap it
  19. I always found it a bit odd that they kept the wildcat as long as they did and decided to keep it while getting rid of the Jumbi Jet
  20. I would assume at least one car would go to the roller coaster museum thing as well
  21. That is interesting perhaps it malfunctioned in some way again during testing
  22. I can somewhat understand the decision after the accident However it does suck that yet another Schwarzkopf is biting the dust, this would have been a nice fit for the Invertigarden at CGA
