It did bring an advancement in technology: Intamin developed a new type of track that required less supports and was therefore cheaper.

^The Beast has trims on the drops after both of its lift hills. On the second lift hill's drop, I believe there is more than one trim, but I'm not 100% on that. Yes, it is kind of obnoxious. Maybe KD will be to tweak the trims on i305 to achieve a more thrilling drop when they get more time. Right now they're quite busy with running the park and might just not have time to get i305 running as well as it can run. There are only so many hours in the day and keeping the park running/dollars flowing into the cash registers is always going to take priority over tweaking a ride, even if it is their star attraction.

I'm still trying to figure out why the OP believes that woodies would not make an overall top 10 list. In my experience, enthusiasts are generally biased towards wood, especially if you're talking about people from certain coaster clubs. "Wood is king" as they say." Maybe steelies are more popular with the GP, but the GP don't vote in polls or make top 10 lists.

This is an awesome TR. I'm really jealous. I want to go back to Scandi NOW. However, why no Gröna Lund? Gröna Lund > everything in Denmark. I guess the long drive might have ruled it out for a weekend trip if you weren't doing a one-way car rental. I know there's a fast train (~3 hours) from Gothenburg to Stockholm.

^^That's not even close to the most expensive dark ride ever built. Ever heard of Spiderman or Tokyo Pooh?

^I think they could get away with replacing Python with a smaller B&M, like the one at Tivoli Gardens, without too many problems. Kind of like how they've replaced Pegasus with the GCIIs. But, yeah, a high end new dark ride is a much better idea. Efteling is one of the few non-Disney/Universal parks that can do a really good dark ride.

I'll take trims over grey out any day of the week.
