Any SFNO Update
black sabbath replied to verticalzero's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It is pretty much a given that SFNO won't be re-opening this season. It will be atleast next year because, most people down there are not able to go to an amusement park when there is other stuff to take care of like repairing their houses, and getting there lives back together again. Not to mention there is probably a lot to repair at SFNO, and a lot to clean up. Does anyone know how well SFNO performs in that market? Last I heard it doesn't do too well so SF probably won't be so quick to get it going anyway. -
That sucks that Ozzfest sucked like that, sorry to hear that. I have always wanted to go, but I don't know if I want to go anymore after all I have been hearing this year. It didn't do to well here in Los Angeles either, a stupid incident with rowdy fans. http://www.cnn.com/2005/SHOWBIZ/Music/08/24/music.ozzfest.reut/index.html

Hated coasters you like.
black sabbath replied to imbordisux's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Ok I admit it, I actually like SLCs and Boomerangs. I know everyone hates them, but I just didn't think they are *that* bad. Sure they had roughness and headbanging, but it wasn't unbearable IMO. They aren't top ten coasters by any means, but they weren't all that bad. Deja Vu is also another ride I like. I also think that Revenge of the Mummy at USH is underrated, was a pretty fun indoor coaster. -
But they have even enough money to spend 30 million dollars on one park... Plus dozens of Tornado slides, a new water park and now this coaster. To me, I think Six Flags has plenty enough money to tear a few rides down...It's the least they can do. Why not take Flashback down while they're at it...Maybe they could install a flat ride in it's place. Well the sad thing is, Six Flags is over $2 billion in debt. The only expenditures worth making for them now are ones that will (hopefully) bring some income. It would be way too expensive to remove Metro, which that money could be better spent on making income at another park in their minds. But yes I do agree with you however that they need to tear out the rides that are SBNO, if not then get them running.

^Hmm I wonder if Metro will be coming back then, if they are painting the fence.. It seems sorta strange that they would paint it, if they had intentions of removal. :? This whole construction project is very interesting, and I hope we see the Sky Tower and Metro both return to operation next year. I cannot wait to find out the details of this project with the coaster.

What is your favorite band?
black sabbath replied to SonOfBeastSucks's topic in Random, Random, Random
Lol, I think my User name speaks for itself for my favorite . I also enjoy other bands like: AC/DC, Pink Floyd, and Twisted Sister. -
There is no reason here to boycott the park. The park IMO, handeled the situation very profesionally, also refunding ticket costs. They didn't admit her on rides because it wasn't safe for her, not to piss her off. Some people just need to understand things like this. It's a big lose, lose situation here. If they let her on, she gets hurt, then they would have slapped them with a lawsuit claiming that they didn't follow safety procedures set by manufactures(which they did). Is this even news worthy? Ugh, I guess they had nothing better to write. These type stories make me angry sometimes when people are so ignorant.

Round-Ups and Tilt-A-Whirls
black sabbath replied to pgathriller's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Also, to add to the double inverters, Six Flags Mexico has one called "Catapulta." So we now know of four double inverters: Geauga Lake, SFNE, SFM, and Morey's. Anyone know of more? -
Round-Ups and Tilt-A-Whirls
black sabbath replied to pgathriller's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
SFMM, has both a Tilt a wirl (known as Circus Wheel) and a Round Up (known as Grinder Gearworks). It's a shame that these rides have become so rare, they are truly great classics. SD county fair has both right now also, just rode them on Thursday. -
http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/northcounty/20050419-0406-burgerking.html LOL, happened at BK. What a creepy incident, I guess you shouldn't attempt to order breakfast past 10:30! This is strange isn't it? :?

Magic Mountain cleaning up!
black sabbath replied to RtherBOnACoaster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ I have only been on the ride once, and I liked it! You probably will not see Flashback return. It's in terrible condition from what I have heard, and will be too costly to repair, and now that it is boarded up, I think this is the end for Flashback. -

New Coaster At Six Flags?
black sabbath replied to Goliathdude's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I think it is kinda funny how we all say, "the new coaster next year" how do we know they won't surprise us with a non coaster addition, although they only seem to add coasters there. Am I the only one that doesn't want a new coaster next year? I would rather see something different, that adds some variety to the park, probably something indoor to escape the heat/rain, especially since there are no indoor rides there. -
Kingda Ka- Who cares?
black sabbath replied to maliboomer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Have you rode Storm Runner? Then you should know that the Otsrs will hardly affect the ride, plenty of room for airtime. -
New Coaster At Six Flags?

Few people know, and they won't share if they want to keep their jobs.. Rumors say it will be a flyer. -

black sabbath replied to RtherBOnACoaster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ I don't know about that so much anymore, but a lot of gang members do visit the park. SFMM does have security and they do an excellent job keeping us safe in the park. (not so much in the parking lot! ) -
Dave & Mary Go To Knott's
black sabbath replied to Meteornotes's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Great TR! I have never seen such bad operations at the park, that's unacceptable to not list those rides on the closed board. I just don't think the park cares that much anymore about anything. Yeah, I also have noticed the crowd change in Knott's, it's become almost the same as SFMM, it's sad how Knott's gets worse and worse every year under Cedar Fair ownership, I miss the days of family ownership, it's nothing more than a carnival now IMO. -
What parks have you visited?

Yes it will have Q-Bot, it says under the rides page. Qbot is great, I used it while at the park last summer, it's definitely worth it!

Robb's Silver Bullet Review
black sabbath replied to Dr Freeze's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ Silver Bullet, isn't a bad coaster but it was just a big letdown for most of us. I like the ride, but I still like Ghostrider, Montezooma, and Xcelerator better.
