Elissa's Random Thought of the Day!
thefitness replied to SharkTums's topic in Random, Random, Random
So is this place like a daycare center? I've never seen any down here in FL, but I have seen "MyGym" (I think that's what it's called). Glad this thread is back! -
Keep in mind that all these reviews are my opinion and you should go into the event with an open mind. Also these reviews will contain spoilers! Opening Weekend, September 28th I was going to start off with how the AP Ultimate Horror Party went, but then this would turn into a rant so I'm going straight to the houses. Friday the 13th Camp Blood- I went into this house while it was still light out so it was very bright, and I could see all the scareactors. Other than the light issue, I really enjoyed this house. The Jason costumes were right on, and all of them were tall or had tall shoes. There were some awesome effects in this house also. To name a few, twitching body bags that were extremely realistic, and Jason ripping out someone’s throat with water splashing out on you like blood. The Jasons did a very good job with their movements, and I think that really added to this house. This was a great house, I just didn't really get into because Jason doesn't really interest me. 7/10 Texas Chainsaw Massacre Flesh Wounds- I was most scared to go into this house, because the idea of a cannibal with a chainsaw is scary as hell. The facade for this house looked very similar to the house in the movie, they had a very small space to work with and pulled it off great. I jumped right away when I walked into the house, and a Hewitt in his wheelchair was yelling "Get outta my house!." The house seemed pretty long and made good use of both indoor and outdoor scenes. One scene is Leatherface cutting into the top of a van with a victim try to start up the car. The finale outdoor section was great. Officer Hoyt was there with a shotgun(same noise from PUTS last year) and there was a broken fence that a Leatherface would stick his chainsaw over or through the holes. The white sheets were a great ending scene and this was where the most screams came from. Great house, but this character didn't really interest me. For that matter, none of the New Line characters do. 8/10 Vampyr Blood Bath- I was very excited for this house, and it did not disappoint! Any straight guy will love this house whether it scares you or not. If anyone watches Best Week Ever on VH1 the end of this house could be considered a "Boner Killer", It goes from hot girls, to bloody bodies hanging. If you went opening weekend during year 14, you'll remember a certain vampire doing something on her bed in Castle Vampyr...similar scene in this house but it involves a guy victim and a girl vamp. The rave in the house set up some great distractions and it was really fun. The String Alley area in this house was pretty cool too, I'm very glad they used this area for part of a house. Hot girls, BJ scene, Good scares, I really liked this house. 9/10 The Thing Assimilation- This house was SO cool! The tent didn't ruin this house at all, and it had details as good some of the soundstage houses! They really used the tent to it's full potential. The puppets were great, and if you want to see all the little "skits" they have set up you need to go through this house multiple times to catch them all. Many of the puppet effects need time to reset, but some are as simple as a scareactor sticking their hand into a puppet and pushing it into your path. There was only one "Dead Spot" in this house but it was right before the finale with the 12ft tall Thing Puppet! Awesome house! I loved every second of it. 10/10 PsychoScareapy Home for the Holidays- My favorite house of the night! It was just awesome, and definitely still had that same PsychoScareapy feel to it. You walk in and see the crashed bus, and the headless driver, you later see that one of the inmates is playing with his head. There are no special effect in this house, other than a cookie scent in the kitchen scene, and it really gives it an eerie feel. I had so much fun in this house, we interacted with the scareactors and it was just an awesome experience. The radio playing Holiday songs really sets the mood, and is so confusing after being in a Halloween atmosphere and then hearing Holiday songs. Such an awesome house, I can't wait for my lights on walkthrough! 10/10 Dead Silence The Curse of Mary Shaw- I loved the movie and the house was no different. It really felt like you were in the movie. The morgue scene was great it just needs lightning effect. The Mary Shaw masks were great and really creepy. The shaking rafter that made you feel like you were up over the stage was great, but they need different lighting at the bottom to make the Mary more realistic. I got some really great scares in this house and I loved the length it had. The mirror trick that was in Screamhouse one year was the finale. Oh ya, Billy was pretty cool too, and Cornelius the Clown was also in the house. Can't wait to see this one once it improves a little. 9/10 Jack's Funhouse in Clown-O-Vision- The facade looks great , and the light projected on the tent makes it look more exciting than just plain white. The 3-D effect is great, but not as disorienting as I though it would be. The spinning clown head room was my favorite. Only complaint for this house is the ending...It is suppose to have the walls that close in on you, but people were complaining of claustrophobia and it was slowing down the line, so by the time I got to this house it was turned off. A really fun house, with some unexpected scares! 7/10 Nightmare on Elm Streets Dreamwalkers- Didn't get a chance to go in this one, but I plan on going inside my next visit. Scarezones-Midway of the Bizzare- The streets were terribly disappointing this year. The only true scarezone was in the Central Park area and the scareactors looked cool not scary. They were in period carnival wear, almost French like with parasols. They just weren't scary. As for the roving entertainment the Carousel bikes were cool but there weren’t enough, Never saw the bumper cars, and the girls on bikes were pointless. The only decent scares in the streets this year is the Chainsaw Drill Team, and they have like half the people they had last year. The streets really suck this year, and in no way have an HHN feel to them. Felt like I was walking around Universal at night. I will add my opinions each visit, and I will add pictures as well. Jack's Bus...straight from the website! Chainsaw Drill Team...They mainly stay out in front of TCM which is fitting I suppose. Tiger Girls out by the entrance of the Freak Show. Lion, Bull, Zebra... My friend and me with one of the "Carnival Animals"...the hot one. Jack's Carnival of Carnage stage. This was the perfect year to bring Jack Back once again. The entrance is really done up this year, and it looks great!

What's not to "get"? Vitamin Water is good, not amazing, but good. Even though it isn't flavored water, I prefer Sobe.

Not bad at all for a first coaster. Nice Job! -

The site is updated...Jack's bus is on the Carnirama page and it takes you to the map page once again. Figure out with puzzles, and get a behind the scenes look at that house. TCM looks crazy scary, and I'll probably have to force myself to go into it. Also, on all the house pages, Jack pops up and talks to you. There is a little treat for the die-hard fans too! “…it belonged to an odd fellow…”

The Official "TPR Japan Trip 2007" Thread
thefitness replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I read this and I was like, "Does she really not know how to spell prostitute?" and then I got the joke...what did I have to have blonde hair -
Scarezones this year actually, scarezone are going back to their roots, and will be all around the park. People are throwing around the ideas that there will be "unofficial names" (not posted on map) but in the park. Names like... Midway of the Bizarre Clown Attack Carnival of Carnage My guess is the whole park is The Carnival of Carnage...if you look at the link I posted above, and look at the pictures you'll see the "central themeing" around the park and different areas with different props.
