  1. Just wondering if there's any other musicians/producers in the house... I myself write/compose/produce electronic, breakbeat, and techno-pop, 3 of my songs have been published, and i'm working on my 3rd independently released CD. I'm fully computerized. (Who needs stinkin' instruments?!?!? ) Anyone else out there? Any genre! (I also like to remix for others.) Here's a clip of mine, just me jammin', hoping this evolves into something I can put on the new CD. http://hotmotion.com/start.mp3 DenDen
  2. Slow for me, from 10-30 seconds for page views. For instant gratification, you need a dedicated host. (Or, do a homebrew!) But if you don't have the budget for that, go with a higher-priced host, not a discounter! Yahoo/Inktomi doesn't cut it. Higher priced hosts have less websites, and less experienced webmasters that don't require processor time.
  3. Well, the announcement wasn't too "thrilling".... basically, the expansion wouldn't even start until 2010, and is contingent on the Mon-Valley express way being completed. All this hub-bub is based on an independent economic impact study, finding Kennywood to the the #1 Entertainment venue in Western PA, and the only one in SW-PA to never ask for corporate welfare. (and that goes for for-profit AND non-profit venues!) The park has no idea what they'll do, so they just threw out these possibilities of what might happen in 2010... New bigger coasters... A hotel... k-mart will become either additional parking, or maintainance... and other standard fair, like rides, games and food. So, all in all, i thought this news conference was disappointing. From the press conference alerts all over the place, they gave the impression that there were definite plans for expansion. (sigh) EDIT:Forgot spellcheck
  4. More tid bits about this in this article! http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/05187/533418.stm thay state "The former site of U.S. Steel's Duquesne Works, adjacent to Kennywood on the south side of the park, is owned by the Regional Industrial Development Corp." Wierd.
  5. This is strange, and yet expected. Kennywood already owns the railroad graveyard just behind the racer, (Mary Lou slipped that one on a PCNC interview in 1999 i believe) and owned many of the houses on the oposing end of the park. For me, the question is, "which way are they going?" The shopping center aquisition would just expand the parking, obviously. I'm anxious to hear about this. (EDIT: Apparently, she lied.) Now that Merlin is in charge, they now own it.
  6. Reminds me of Bonsai Kitten http://www.bonsaikitten.com/gray.html
  7. Gee, this was like a soap-opera addiction. I swear, you guys should have a TV show. Thanks for entertaining us for 3 weeks. Looking forward to the extended updates! DenDen "will miss the daily antics".
  8. Idlewild Park has a Tilt-a-whirl and Super Round Up.
  9. OK, call me a "vercoma-virgin", but what's it supposed to do?
  10. LOL! OMFG! I wanted one of these when these came out in the 80's. Heck, you can now get digtal for the same price. LOL
  11. The Phantom POV is ABSOLUTELY HISTERICAL! And it's true, I'm a PGH native, but I'm the only one in my family that can pronounce stEElers! (Sorry arse baseball team! ) KUDOS on the vid!
  12. Soren, I think that everyone is SOOOOO into Robb-n-Elissa's TR's, that nobody is seeing these yet. (Or anyone elses.) As of this post, you've only been viewed 49 times. I think I speak for most of us when I say that 99.99% of photo trip reports are the coolest, including yours!
  13. OK, listen up parks, we're waiting for the new mega-giga-hyper-tera-pixel-coaster witha LIFT HILL any year now.
  14. I wonder if any of the "self serve" rides are cost effective enough for a back yard mini-park. The Naudic Jet would be a star attraction.
  15. If it's totally, or mostly a ride on rails and goes up at least once without the aid of a lifthill or an engine...then it's a coaster. Guess that means Disk-o, Lucy's Tug boat, and Schwartzkopf Pirate are coasters too.
  16. I dunno, as Paris would say, the fat guy was hot. LOL
  17. Um... HELL NO! I've never had to draw the line at a ride, but I think this is where my line would be. Those normal chair swings freak me out. This is absurd. I saw a rendering of this ride years ago, but I never imagined someone would buy one. -kip- Wait till you see the video!!! http://www.funtime.com.au/data/index2.htm is the manufacturer's website. It really does look insane, almost to the point of feeling neg-G's when it goes up-n-down, like the feeling in a strong elevator. (Did you guys ride it Robb? Wondering if it actually does.)
  18. http://www.flatrides.com/Ride%20Index%20Pages/metroliner.html It's not Schwartzies! He gave input on the design, but it's manufactured by BHS. Bayern Kurve 2 was never manufactured. (Edit=Typo)
  19. Tough call, kinda looks deliberate, but Robb is a good actor/comedian!
  20. You're site is messed up. But I do like your avatar. your site using firefox
  21. Being that he used the word "dude" in his article, I'd say he's fresh out of school, slow news day, and/or daddy got him a job there. The article is cheesy, poorly written, even for non-coaster enthusiasts. The only people this article will appeal to are the retirees in Hallendale Beach who are in their 80's, and the 12 year olds featured in the article. OMFG! I just heard the audio! ROTFLMAO! He's gotta live in Wilton Manors. LOL
  22. I say both are at fault? Does your career involve computational fluid dynamics engineering?
  23. Not here in South Florida yet. Guess Coke Zero is suppoed to be better than Pepsi one?
