  1. Has anyone called Lightning Run "Chance Morgan's version of a Mega Lite"? Is this the new trend? I sure hope so! This looks fun!
  2. Awww, goodbye to the longest trip report ever created! So entertaining and fun! I hope you guys continue in Vegas! (I used to live there, there's plenty of ODD!)
  3. As a former casino employee, I know a lot of the answers to my scenerio, but I'm sure there are answers that I don't, and would be interesting to a lot of people... The power of the senses... and the power of suggestion... Do theme parks use these things to persuade patrons to do things? Casinos do it, a lot. (No, the "oxygen pumping in the gaming area" is not one of them.) Colors, odors and sounds can play powerful roles... shopping malls even use subliminal audio... so what do theme parks do?
  4. Did it get leaked?!??!? I have my sources!!!! But they already have one... http://www.kolmarden.com/Global/Delfinexpressen_023_360px.jpg
  5. Uncle Bernie's is TOTALLY #2! It's my home park!
  6. Gotta laugh, the Wikipedia page has already been updated! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Splash_Adventure
  7. OH NO! Another EPIC video! piranhaconda, sharknado, sharktapus... NO! ZOMBEAVERS! I can never get this youtube thing to work. DURP!
  8. My mom will use ONLY Del Grosso sauces... Anyway, hate to hear that Space Odyssey is gone. That caterpillar came from West View Park.
  9. Without going through the thread and seeing everyone else's comments... I picked #1. It would be nicer, in my opinion, if the "tweets" were "latest forum posts in parks/coasters/donkeys". When I come to TPR's front page, I'm looking to see what's new, and that is mostly in forums. I already follow you on FB and Twitter, so those links in twitter would have taken me directly to the content you were promoting anyway. Almost all of your social media audience has already seen it. I'm going through the same exact issue at my day job with the newspaper and the twitter thing. Our most clicked module is "Latest comments", and almost nobody clicks the twitter feed. To please management, we accomplished both in a tabbed situation, but comments are default, and everyone uses them. (example below...) tabs on top, people can switch between the two, but nobody actually does...
  10. The newspaper I work for did a Mormon cover for the Fall theatre season here on the Gold Coast of Florida. I just got this in, so stoked!!! Just in time for our Winter theatre guide!
  11. Kennywood is also the only park in the world that has 2 coasters with their largest drop the last drop, and 4 coasters where the largest drop is NOT the first drop. (I hope that is right!) Thunderbolt and Jack Rabbit both have their largest drop is the last drop. Phantom's Revenge's and Racer's largest drop is it's second.
  12. I've been to most of the parks in North America, and I have to lean toward Cedar Fair. I've just had better experiences at CF parks, I can't pinpoint a single reason. Six Flags seems to clone their stuff a lot more than CF though, whether it's theming or specific rides. If I go to one park and ride a batman clone, I really don't wanna go to another park with another one. Just a waste as a park-hopping patron for me. Would rather have a unique experience, even if it was a smaller ride. Keep in mind, I'm old and tired.
  13. OK, before I give my opinion, I am gay, 42, my day job is the internet producer, writer, photographer, and videographer for one of the largest LGBT newspapers in the country. I am also a bash victim, TWICE. OK, my opinion... Kryptonite is GREEN. Emeralds from the Wizard of Oz, GREEN! Coincidence? I THINK NOT! I have seen this show. I have seen the skit in question. It was funny. I didn't feel threatened, humiliated, or degraded in any way. There was no verb-age to denote anti-gay. I have to look for threatening stuff every day, for a living. This just isn't it. Not by a long shot. Unfortunately, you have idiot tabloids like Huffington Post Gay Voices (and let me strengthen, "voices", not facts...) with Ariel's name on it, and people get their panties in an bunch.
  14. Just found a pic of their "Butterfly coaster". This is unbelievable!
  15. This is the most insane thing I've ever seen. This documentary is about an old Italian man who opened a restaurant in the middle of the woods, and started building home made rides on the property, and has been for 40 years. The coaster looks huge! I would love to see more video on this. h/t to Gizmodo! [vimeo] [/vimeo]
  16. I am curious to know whether the pink triangles on the red light district buildings denoted "gay"? In LGBT history, upside-down pink triangle tattoos were used in Nazi Germany to identify gays and lesbians. The symbol isn't used as much as it was in the 90's as an equality pride/struggle symbol.
  17. HOLY CRAP, that looks amazing. Thanks for sharing Shane! But at the same time, the other giant Ferris wheel is going nowhere as you see in this picture... the concrete towers are the fork of the wheel. This project is apparently bankrupt, twice! Sad...
  18. Another credit in Florida, YAY! Gov. Scott sure does make things "special". If you live in Florida, you know... LMAO!
  19. A perfect example, Kennywood had a Huss Ranger in 1983, and they got rid of it after just 1 season. Ironically, Areo360 (Zamplerla Hawk 48, a similar ride experience) is in that spot today.
  20. I would have expected this to have a seat belt from the beginning. (As well as TNTG) I don't have a problem with them, they actually make me feel more "secure" on a coaster in general. I see they put the "rattles" on the back of the trains again also.
  21. Lounge chairs in an awesome theater room.
  22. I found that strange as well. Is it not the same restraint used on flyers and wind-riders? Maybe they're just making them standard issue now...
  23. Between the YouTube channel, and this website, you are much more entertaining than all of basic cable put together. Love these exotic trip reports!
  24. Thanks for the PTR! There can never be too many Kennywood reports. And now I'm up to date! I agree, it is one of my favorite parks in the US as well.
