ERT on awesome coasters, meeting lots of new people, free beer = GREAT DAY!!!
Thanks Robb, Elissa, and KD management for an awesome event.
BTW, trims or no trims, i305 is the best coaster I've ever ridden! Complaining about something as minor as trims on a ride that good is just ridiculous.
You can walk from the Best Western. There is no fence and actually you don't even need to cross any highways. Just have to walk across the parking lot.
Are you referring to the Best Western next to the park? How about the campground...anyone ever stay there? I will be down there on the 16th and have debated on where we will stay. We would like stay at the campground near the park, but think it is going to be much too hot to tent camp.
I was wondering about the neighboring hotels and if they are decent for the price. Can anyone that has stayed at any of these provide me with some insight?
Thanks!
Phil
I stayed in the Best Western a few weeks ago. Its not a four star hotel but it is clean and very convenient. It was really nice to be able to just walk back to the hotel for a break during the day and be able to be back at the park very quickly. Also, the onsite Denny's was very nice as well as the bar connected to it.
Waking up to the sight of Dominator and I305 =
Personally I don't think they are needed, though the price is not too bad. I went on July 4th. Crowds were fairly heavy, although not quite as bad as I expected for the holiday. I got there just after open and got on every coaster twice, except Exterminator and Sky Rocket which I only rode once each, and rode several other rides as well. Ended up leaving by about 5. If you get there at open you should be fine as far as getting on everything you want.
Just signed up. Can't wait for my first TPR event
BTW, a few people have said that they don't want to be "that guy walking around alone" during the event. Well that will be me so if you see me walking around, come up and say hey!
I worked a ferris wheel at Idlewild in Pennsylvania for a few years. We did not allow single riders either. The main reason for this was that when the cars are at the very top we can not see the riders. If one of the riders would be having some sort of problem, like a panic attack or something worse, than the other rider would be able to alert us of the issue.
