  1. Hey everybody! This thread is simple! Rather than having a million little threads about everything that goes on at Chessington World of Adventures, this thread is designed to consolidate it all into one user-friendly thread. Feel free to use it to post updates, trip reports, questions, comments, and of course, general discussion. For pictures and videos of the park as well as past updates, see TPR's Park Index Page. Official Park Website Below are some links to past updates from the park, you may be interested in. Anyone else know anything about this? EDIT: When my friend rang Chessington earlier he was told that Dragons falls will be closed at the beginning of the season but was not given a reason why.
  2. I am unsure whether I should buy this software or not as I have read mixed reviews about it. I am currently using Roxio Videowave 7 pro but I would like to change software as this porgramme often crashes. I was wondering whether anyone has had any experience with this software and could tell me whether it is worth me buying. Please consider: - Whether it is worth the money. (I can purchase it on amazon for around £30) - Whether it is a better piece of software compared to Roxio Videowave 7 pro. Thanks Stealth
  3. So sad! I was planning on going during the christmas opening time aswell, meh! Well yeh I agree with you on that one, they have also realised that they are either going to have to offer extremely low ticket prices with very limited ride availability or next season we will see a repeat of a poor opening week. All I can say is bring on the 2009 coaster, that's Thorpe's chance to impress us all. tp.bmp No Christmas at Thorpe!
  4. Well I didn't really think it made that much of a difference, but I have always thought that Stealth is a great ride and so it doesn't make much difference to me. Well they updated the site a while ago with the opening times for the 2007 season and we were all quite excited over here as it was plannned to be Thorpe's longest open season to date. Now though after being disspaointed with the poor start to the season last weekend we have even more dissapointment. They have now taken the christmas opening dates off the opening times calender on the site.
  5. I'm guessing there will be no major retracking work done on the ride, although I expect them to do small things like change the block breaks to fit in with whatever will be happening there. I suppose you could count that as track work other than that I am expecting to see no other changes to the track but the main thing we should see is major improvements to the themeing of the ride.
  6. It hasn't been confirmed as such, but it does sound about right to me anyway. Well atleast for a retheme for X by tussauds anyway.
  7. ^ I don't know, but seeing as they are advertising this as Stealth 1.1, maybe we could see stealth 1.2 and 1.3 etc in the future! Well I agree it didn't feel any different. I went on opening day and when the ride did finally open at about 11.30am (I may be wrong with that time but it was closed pretty much the whole morning) it launched ONCE and then we all heard the familiar announcement, and it was down once again. I must say it was back up again pretty quickly though so it wasn't too bad, and other than that I didn't notice it experiencing any other downtime throughout the rest of the day. However it did practically stop as cresting the top hat, unfortunately I was not on this run. As for X I was informed by a member of staff that it will definately be closed later this year for its much deserved retheme. As I have said before I think a figure of £60,000 was signed off for the ride, so it could be interesting as to what they do with it.
  8. I use Roxio Videowave 7 pro, the programme is great for me when it works, but recently it just won't stop crashing, I can edit about 30 seconds of video if that before it crashes and I have to start the programme again. I might upgrade to version 8 but I'm also thinking of trying out another programme. How much does the Adobe one cost?
  9. Because with the large new coaster they are building they don't have the money to completely knock it down and re-build it, but something needs to be done. As I have said over the years small things have been done, but nothing that has helped really, maybe now they have realised it's time to sort this thing out. They will be spending a fairly decent amount on it if it is the rumoured £60 grand but if they really are planning for a large scale ride in the near future this is all they can really afford. Personally I'm not getting my hopes up anyway. I doubt anything will be done, it has been rumoured for so many years now, and if they do, do something it won't be amazing.
  10. ^ Yeah, there have been rumours flying around saying X:\ will get a retheme for ages but nothing major has ever happened. I read somewhere that £60 grand was apparently signed off to be invested in the ride this year so who knows. You might be sitting there expecting to leave the station backwards and suddenly go forwards. Personally I think the ride is well past its sell by date. Not just because these days it can't really compare to much else but the fact that Thorpe hasn't maintained the old magic of the ride. As I say it seems to change slightly evey year but not in a way that improves the ride at all. So a major retheme this year would be a welcome sight to me, and although it would be weird without the ride at Thorpe I wouldn't really miss it that much if it was removed completely.
  11. Anyone manage to tape this, if so would it be possible for you to put it up here? Thanks Stealth
  12. I heard that Alton was planning to build a wooden coaster of similar scale to Megafobia and also a shoot the chute (tidal wave style ride) in the near future. These two small additions to the park in 2007 are probably being introduced to add something new to the park but on a low budget to save money for these large investments in the near future.
  13. You missed off the Flying Fish at Thorpe Park!
  14. The gnome is your friend don't worry Thanks for the link to Southwest, the only problem is you can't book far in advanced, I think the furthest away you can book is May. I wouldn't want to book everything and wait to book this flight nearer the time to find out I couldn't get the flight I needed. Anyone know of any other cheap airlines where you can book further in advanced? Thanks Stealth
  15. Thanks to both of you, that has helped a lot.
  16. Thanks alot. Do you know any airlines that would fly from Orlando into any of these?
  17. What would be the nearest airport to Cedar Point that I could fly into from Orlando? Thanks Stealth
  18. Yup, and if you look at the picture before the one you posted it's a side view clearly showing they use the first two cars. In every example I have seen they use the first one or two cars for the pull through. I hope they make a podcast of the pull through on this.
  19. Wow they have started work on scenery. I am looking forward to seeing how the scenery turns out, hopefully it will be as good as what we are all expecting to see.
  20. I'll be in Spain in July as well and I am really looking forward to riding this. The layout looks a bit boring but then again the speed should make up for it. The style of trains should also help to make the ride more interesting, I am really looking forward to riding on the lowest seat and being so close to the ground.
  21. Wooooo I love MCR!! They rock! Right now I am listening to "These colours don't run" by Iron Maiden. After seeing Iron Maiden live the other week I have to say they are amazing.
  22. It is possible although I don't know how personally. Ask the guy who uploaded the Tatsu video how he did it as that was about an hour long I think.
  23. This took forever to download for me but it looks quite interesting so hopefully it will be worth the wait. Cheers for uploading this Sean, I was really disapointed when I saw this was going to be on but I wasn't going to be able to watch it.
  24. I havn't ridden a coaster in so long! I am starting to suffer from coaster withdrawal symptoms. The last coaster that I rode must have been Stealth at Thorpe, that was too long ago for my liking though, it was way back in October. Not long to wait now though as this year Thorpe have extended their opening times and are opening in early February this year. I will be visiting on opening day to satisfy my coaster needs.
  25. My home park is Thorpe Park. Everyone near Thorpe would probably say Stealth, although this is an amazing ride and I have to agree with them I will be different and say Nemesis Inferno. It's not the best B&M by a long way, but I love B&M coasters and it happens to be in my home park. It also happens to be a damn fun ride in my opinion. I'm looking forward to the Fish returning aswell.
