In 1981 I was a ride op on the Wacky Soap Box Racers and also emceed the show at the little theater with the 180 degree screen that sat in the middle of the lake (Robb reminded me of the name a few weeks back, but my slippery old mind has forgotten it again) at Knott's Berry Farm. Although it's not an amusement park per se, in 1982 I was on the construction crew that built what was known at that time as the Black Box addition to the Movieland Wax Museum. I don't know if that section or even the museum itself is even in existence anymore, but it used to be just a few blocks down from Knott's on Beach Blvd.

I saw a report on the news a few weeks ago and I think they're considering changing DST to run March through November instead of the present April through October. That ought to be fun.

Well, after more than 20 years, the Indiana legislature has decided that we should start observing Daylight Savings Time again. It doesn't start until next year and the feds get to decide whether we're going to be in the Central time zone or the Eastern time zone. Aren't we lucky??

It was in the 80's most of the week here (northern Indiana), which is normal mid summer temperature here (not early spring), and right now it's snowing and 30 degrees out.

I listened to the samples. I didn't really care for it all that much to be honest. I couldn't really understand the words. But the site looks pretty cool.

He is Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger from Germany and is 78 (seems awfully old). His name will be Pope Benedict XVI. He is the first German to be named Pope since the 11th century and the 265th Pope overall. ^^And at least Oklahoma City got a mention on the Today show this morning, but yeah, this does kinda overshadow it. That was such a terrible day.

I thought did pretty good, but he had to open his mouth one too many times. As Simon was finishing his critique, Scott popped off and said something to the effect of he had more guts that the millions of people watching because they were just sitting there watching and HE was up there doing it. I think that Simon was really baiting him to get him to say something stupid and Scott obliged.

I've been driving for about 25 years now and I've never had a moving violation of any kind. All I've had is 1 no insurance ticket (almost 17 years ago) and a couple of parking tickets. Besides regular every day driving, I drove a van transporting railroad crews for several years and was lucky enough to never get stopped for speeding, although I've certainly deserved a few over the years. I rarely go more than 10 mph over the speed limit any more.

We have 3 little beauties named Serenity, Serendipity (Dippy for short) and Yogi. We also had a 4th sister named Boo-Boo, but sadly we had to have her put down after only having them for a week. It was an incredibly sad day. :crying: But little Boo-Boo brought us so much joy in that week and her sisters continue to do so, so we'll always remember the sweet little baby and cherish her sisters all the more. :love:
