Pronunciations of unusual park and coaster names
Sticky Nicky replied to macca_boy69's topic in Random, Random, Random
This isn't a park or coaster but rather a city in which a park is located. Shakopee, MN is commonly mispronounced as Sha-Kop-"E" but is really pronounced "Shock-A-Pee". Shakopee is home to Valleyfair. -
Let's See: Minnesota Iowa Colorado Indiana Wisconsin Illinois Michigan Ohio Pennsylvania New York Massachusetts Virgina Maryland Florida California Washington Kansas Missouri North Dakota South Dakota Washington D.C. I know I have been to more, I just can't think of them all right now!

Well, heard on the rado yesterday that Robert Rodriguez was to be the eighth rider, but has since canceled for unknown reasons. The bright side is that now there will be eight contestants. -

^^Maybe he is the mythical 8th rider on Spongebob. The contest says that there is only seven contestants, yet there are 8 seats on a spongebob car. Hmmmmm... Maybe Robert will simply ride along with this bunch of non-stop coaster riders. -
I highly doubt it. The parks are both profitable and probably would only be sold as parks as the land they sit on, at least in VF's case, has horrible value right now because it is right next to a dirty river that often floods. Thats not a good place to build up some houses/condos. The only reason I can think of why Cedar Fair would sell would be because they need some quick cash.

I can't say anything about WoF, but VF has defiantly seen an attendance spike in the past couple of years. Last year seemed to be the busiest yet. There were things like 1 hour waits on Wild Thing, which was running 3 trains on many weekends, something I hadn't seen in the past 6-7 years. ' I highly doubt they would sell a park that is becoming even more successful every year. Especially one that was one of the original parks and holds a sentimental value to Kinzel, being that he was general manager there for 8 years. Just my $.2

I really had my doubts about this coaster when it was announced but now, it really looks like a top-notch family coaster. -

My vote would go to either Kings Island or Valleyfair. Though the second one is a little biased, Valleyfair is still a pretty nice park.
