  1. Really cool, I'm glad to see that this park is being reborned.
  2. ^^ ACE has been doing it for years; like the "Blue Streak Challenge" and "ACE Day at the Lake" where funds would go to Conneaut Lake Park. I remember three years ago at ACE Day at the Lake where if we wanted to we could donate $15 to get a picture opportunity on a cherry picker inside of the Blue Streak turn. It was really cool...
  3. I had no idea that S&S made Falken. I thought it was made by Intamin... go figure.
  4. Speaking of Livewire, I found out what the recipe was at the Outback Steakhouse. I mixed Orange Minute Maid and Sprite together and it was instant Livewire...
  5. I'm good for either really. I mean I do prefer Coke over Pepsi, but it's like comparing Aquafina (sp?) and Dasani. I prefer Nestle's water btw...
  6. I can relate to this issue because I work at the Outback Steakhouse which uses Coke products , but the Outback Steakhouse at PNC Park has to use Pepsi because that's what the ballpark uses. Strange how it's the only Outback in the world that uses Pepsi....
  7. I love the Penguins, I could never see too much of Sidney and the Penguins...
  8. Classes are cancelled for the next two days, that doesn't happen everyday.
  9. Hey guys, Dave over at kpconnection.com announced to us that he did an article for DAFE (Darkride and Funhouse Enthusiasts) relating to the old Ghostship ride the burned down at Kennywood in 1975. You should definately check it out... www.dafe.org/attractions/darkrides/kennywood-ghostship/ghostship-p1.htm The pictures are really cool, but they're also very sad.
  10. I think it's the same for all magnetic braking. The Jackrabbit and Phantom's Revenge both use magnetic braking and I got to be honest and say that I miss the old sleds for the Jackrabbit and the brake fins for the Phantom because they do brake way too hard for comfort. Without the newer brakes, the train would slam into the back of the train in the station. Uh, if you are referring to the Phantom's Revenge then I think you misunderstood. I meant the "new" Dyno braking that replaced all of the original brake fins. I know the purpose of the trim brakes on the last two bunny hops before the station were placed to keep the train from entering the station and allowing two train operation, but the Dyno braking was added just last season and it hurts like a bitch.
  11. At first it reminded me of the Rattler in Fiesta, Texas so I thought it was a John Pierce coaster, but I checked rcdb.com to find that it was a PTC (Cobb) coaster. I thought PTC was known for good coasters, but this one looked pretty rough to me. Idk, is it that rough in real life?

  14. I think Busch Gardens Europe's entrance was cool... I feel like I got to mention Kennywood's new entrance too.. *picture from coaster1
  15. I haven't been to any Paramount parks, but don't they use the Nickelodean theme? What will those rides be renamed/themed to?
  16. ^ I think Kennywood went for the big ride/small capacity direction because of pricing (I'm sure) and they really don't need a larger capacity version. This should take some of the pressure off SwingShot...
  17. Wow, awesome... I know it's strange for Pittsburgh and Southwestern Pennsylvania folk to be getting excited about this kind of stuff, but it's just the way we are.
  18. ^ Haha, well yea we were discussing this over at Kpconnection.com and it turns out that the press release wasn't wrong. Kennywood will have the Mega Disko model with a 24 seater car, capsule, or whatever.
  19. ^Haha, my dad is almost 75 and he's only semi retired because him and my mom still need to get my brother and I through college. I doubt he'll retire after we're out of college!
  20. Haha, that's just halarious. Once again we leave it up to local crappy laws to make it impossible for business to survive. Wonder why there are so many poor towns and cities in this part of the country. :cough: Cleveland, Erie, Pittsburgh, Youngstown, Oil City, Meadville, etc :cough:
  21. I don't know, she just doesn't like being high in the air like she'll never go on the Phantom's Revenge. However, she doesn't seem to mind inverted coasters because she told me that she rode Raptor at Cedar Point and Alpengeist at Busch Gardens.
  22. So the following was issued last week and it kinda scared me to be honest, source btw => thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c110:H.R.393: <= I don't really want to be drafted... I just hope it won't get passed.
