  1. Whoa! I had no idea the download link was bad. Is there something going on with attachments?
  2. Here's a new wooden coaster from me. This one's called Fervor. It has airtime, floater air, laterals, and positives all scattered throughout its layout. I tried to make this coaster have a little bit of everything, so everyone would like riding it. It's 95 feet tall, tops out at 49mph, and is about 2700 feet long. A block section is located right out of the gate as opposed to behind the station. There are two reasons for this - the first being lack of space and the second being that it's more exciting to wait on a block for a ride to start than wait on a block for a ride to end. The POV video has shocks on. Why? It's a woodie, duh! Enjoy. ~A.J. Fervor POV Video [coastertube]http://www.themeparkreview.com/coastertube/play.php?vid=fervorCOMPLETE_pfn3[/coastertube] AJR_Fervor (Complete).nltrack How about this one?
  3. I'm hoping for a B&M flyer in Big Bad Wolf's old location. I'm hoping they call it Drachen.
  4. It looks like the crest of the lift tower has a larger radius than most Eurofighters. That must mean that they're going to use the 6-seater V-shape cars like Belantis' Huracan. The support structure of the lift tower looks the same as Huracan's too. The 6-seater trains going over the crest of another Eurofighter such as Oakwood's Speed would produce unbearable negative Gs in the back row.
  5. For MacBooks and the Wireless keyboard: Hold down your Fn key (lower left-hand corner) and then press F10. For the Wired Keyboard with numeric keypad: Same as above, but the Fn key is located directly under F13.
  6. Update! Here's how updates are going to work: To start, I'll be showcasing most of the attractions in the park's "rough" phase. This will give everyone a feel for the layout of the park and how the attractions interact with each other. Then, I'll be showing the details as the park develops. Here we go. This is Robo-Thriller. It whips riders all around and occasionally hangs them close to the water. DiskO sits amongst the track of ECOpark's family coaster, Serpent Twister. Serpent Twister is a Mack YoungSTAR. The ride gives two laps, and somehow the excitement rating shot above 8! The red coaster is ECOpark's signature ride - Updraft. It's a B&M Flying Coaster and is the most "interactive" ride in the park. Updraft is also the only flying roller coaster with an inverted loop. Under it is Riptide Falls, an Intamin Flume. Here's an un-named playground. It sits right on the edge of the land, and gives kids a chance to see if their parents or siblings are on Riptide Falls.
  7. Streets and lines: DasMatze's Covers & More Curbs and railings: Shyguy's Planters
  8. Hey all, I'm taking a break from NoLimits (and its one-coaster limit) and moving into RCT3 land for a while. Welcome to ECOpark - a more efficient amusement park for a more efficient tomorrow. It will be designed to make the most of its space - the map is 102 wide, 108 tall, and the park itself is placed in a fraction of that space. There will be few, if any rides that are on their own - most will cross over or under other rides. The park is also designed to be ran on green energy. List of attractions revealed so far: DiskO - Zamperla DiskO Riptide Falls - Intamin Flume Robo-Thriller - KUKA Robocoaster Serpent Twister - Mack YoungSTAR Coaster Updraft - B&M Flying Coaster Unknown - Moser Spring Ride Unknown - Playground Rampage - Intamin Mega-Lite Starcharge - Modified Fabbri Booster Sky Flyer - Mondial Windseeker Please note: the presentation of screenshots will be extremely informal. I'm too lazy to open the park, name someone David Walsh, shoo everybody out, take the shot, edit it to make it all fancy, etc.. ~A.J. But first, I have to show you the car park (or at least the portion that is on the map - in reality it would be much larger). This section of car park is for handicapped, electric vehicles, hybrid-electric vehicles, and alternative-fuel vehicles only. In keeping with the park's "green" image, these vehicles get priority parking. Here's the (unfinished) section in its entirety. Here's a preview of what's to come! This single screenshot shows you just what I mean when I say "space-efficient amusement park". Stay tuned!
  9. I think Hersheypark would be a good candidate for a Mega-Lite, custom or not. Hersheypark really doesn't have an airtime machine. In fact, the only coaster at Hersheypark that I think comes close is Lightning Racer, and even then it's just small pops and a little floater.
  10. ^ I find it a lot easier to take RCT1 screenshots with height markers. That way, I have the general layout of the coaster and I can make changes where changes need to be made. Since RCT2 established that each height marker equaled 5 feet, I go by that with snaps set to 5 feet, and 9 times out of 10 it works. That's actually an advantage of the seperate editor - I can cycle between windows with little trouble because of the wireframe graphics.
  11. I'd want more of an age simulator - put in a time in years and it would adjust the condition of the coaster accordingly. That way you can still test it however many times you want and still have it "new" when it's finished.
  12. Here's a new one from me. WRANGLER - plum twisted roller coaster A local stage show featured a live rendition of a wild west wrangler roping some cattle. Unfortunately, the actor screwed up and when he tossed his rope, it became seriously tangled. Sure, the wrangler might have thought that he screwed up, but the rope inspired a seriously tangled new woodie... STATS: Maximum Height: 100ft Length: 3,066ft Ride time: 2 minutes 10 seconds Top speed: 50mph Forces @100%: +4.0, -1.0 One thing I like about the coaster is that the coaster is completely gravity-driven save for the lift hill. There are no transport sections at all. [coastertube]http://www.themeparkreview.com/coastertube/play.php?vid=Wrangler_758h[/coastertube] Enjoy your ride. The whole layout. Wrangler.nltrack Download!
  13. Here's something new and rather twisty from me... It's about 95% finished. Twisty...ain't it?
  14. I went in just his past Wednesday, and it wasn't bad at all (it was raining for half the day though). My friends and I had walk-ons for Lightning Racer, Wildcat, Wild Mouse, Superdooperlooper and Trailblazer; and one-or-two load waits for Storm Runner and Great Bear. Fahrenheit and Comet were the only coasters which had long waits, usually from 30 minutes to an hour. Heck, I got three rides per side on Lightning Racer!
  15. Sure, this concept is cool and everything, but I fear that it's going to become a "gimmick" coaster like B&M stand-up coasters and floorless coasters. The flyer, hyper, diving machine, and sitdown have all had new installations in the past three years. However, the floorless hasn't had a new installation since 2005 (Hydra the Revenge), and the stand-up hasn't had a new installation since 1999 (Georgia Scorcher)! I guess I can't make too heavy of a prediction though - the diving machine made a "comeback" when BGA introduced SheiKra. I just don't want to see B&M put all that work into the new coaster and it end up only installing two or three examples in ten years.
  16. It just sort of made me wonder what was going on - the gap is located at the very bottom of the first drop, the fastest (and proably most stressed) point of the ride.
  17. Hey, look! A.J. is posting his first photo TR! EDIT: I'm still a TPR rookie, and I posted all my photos in IMG tags instead of attachments, because I'm so used to using vBulletin. My apologies to 56K users. ~~~ Today was one of the only days I had time to take a amusement park trip for myself, so I drove out to Knoebel's for the day. It's my favorite amusement park, and it seemed like a good idea, until I got on Interstate 80. When I got on Interstate 80, I realized that I forgot something crucial to my day... ...my wallet. It's surely a good thing that Knoebel's is free admission. It's also a good thing that I keep my DL in my car. I found five dollars in my storage compartment, so that would be able to buy me food, but unfortunately I was too far away from home to turn around, and that meant no rides for me. But that's okay! It was a dark and cloudy day, but that didn't stop me from having a relaxing day at Knoebel's. I got drizzled on a few times too. That Giant Wheel picture was taken early in my day - about 10:30AM. It's THROUGH THE TREES, too! After I took the Giant Wheel picture, I started walking around the park. I first stopped at Sklooosh, which hadn't opened yet at the time. In case you didn't know, this is what happens when Sklooosh is closed - they rest one of the boats on the lift hill. I was told that this is because it uses less power to rest the boat on the lift hill than to put it in the transfer section. Check it out... I then started toward the Giant Flume hoping for a similar photo. I made some observations along the way. For you 1001 Nacht enthusiasts, the backdrop has been removed. Power Surge enthusiasts, that ride looks like it definitely has seen better days and that it's due for a cleanup/refreshing. Flying Turns enthusiasts, I'll talk to you in a bit. Same with you Phoenix enthusiasts also. I got to the Giant Flume (which hadn't been opened yet either), and snapped this... It's a traffic jam. I was told they rest as many boats on the conveyors as possible because the current doesn't run when the ride is closed (obviously...). Now, I headed over behind the Giant Flume to the Mining Museum. I've always liked the Mining Museum, but it's what was next to it that piqued my interests...Black Diamond! It seems like they're making faster progress on Black Diamond than Flying Turns, probably because they're actually using the old Golden Nugget blueprints for assistance, as opposed to going completely from scratch with Flying Turns. Here's some track... OMGZ more track... By the time I had finished at Black Diamond, a lot of the rides had opened. As I was walking around, it looked like none of the rides were experiencing any downtime at all, which is great for Knoebel's reputation. I eventually found my way to Knoebel's new for 2009 coaster, Kozmo's Kurves. On my way, I noticed something about the Satellite that I didn't know before (because I've never ridden a roll-o-plane) - when the arms are spinning horizontally, the cars end up banking 90 degrees outward on one side of the spin. I thought that was pretty cool. Kozmo's Kurves... I took that photo, and on the next lap around, a boy lost his Penn State hat coming down the first drop. I went over, stuck my hand through the fence, grabbed the hat, and proceeded to return it. However, I spotted something about Kurve's track that prompted me to go back and take a picture (after returning the hat to its rightful owner of course)... There's a small gap in the track! Is that supposed to be there? It doesn't seem to affect the ride, but something like that could be dangerous in the long run. Maybe to compensate for thermal expansion (physics geeks?). I then noticed another ride that's seen better days - the motor boats. I didn't get to take a photo because it happened too quickly. But, two boats got stuck next to each other, and a staff member actually hopped on the boats and moved them using his feet! I understand the classic nature of the ride, but there has to be something Knoebels can do to improve the experience. I looped back around the park stopping to get a quick bite at one of the snack stands (I think it was the one next to the Giant Wheel), and this time went toward the Flying Turns. I wasn't able to talk to any of the staff about the Flying Turns (not that they would be able to tell me anything), but I spotted something in the newly-expanded brake shed... OMGZORZTRAINCHASSIS!!!1!1 It's a two-car train chassis, and it's probably been sitting there for a while. I doubt that they'll have this open until 2011 at the earliest. RCDB says that the trains will have five cars per train. If they are struggling testing with two chassis, it's going to be a while until testing begins with five fully-built cars. I continued my loop moving toward the Phoenix. I didn't get any good photo ops, so I went back to Black Diamond and took another picture... It looks like they're going to make the exterior of Black Diamond look like the Mining Museum. I think that's a good idea. This is just a pipe dream, but maybe they'll expand the Mining Museum and build the entrance and exit in there. I don't know. Don't take my word for it. I went back to Phoenix, past the Antique cars, and to Fandango. As I went to take a picture of the Phoenix, Fandango was running, and it's baffling how close the disc comes to innocent bystanders waiting in line... I know it's safe clearance, but come on! How is that little kid just standing there with a blunt look on her face? Anyway, I went over to Phoenix, and I was getting impatient waiting for a train (single train operation), but I did notice something on Phoenix's third large turn... Are they beginning to re-track Phoenix? Only time will tell. The afternoon approached, and I was done here. I had a very relaxing day at Knoebel's, and it was a nice change from my life as an incoming college freshman (ughhhhh...). I'll close this photo TR with the mandatory "Twister in the helix" shot... Hope you enjoyed reading my TR. ~A.J.
  18. Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Carowinds' Intimidator supposed to have the standard 4-across trains as opposed to the "V" trains?
  19. This is just my dreamy opinion, of course, but I think that BGE is going to be getting a terrain-hugging B&M flyer in the future... I could see it being called "Drachen".
  20. It's essentially a modern-day looper/squirrelcage ride. When the ride starts, the seats are upright. Then, when the ride gets going, riders can use a lever to rotate the seats forward or backward. Think of it as a squirrelcage ride that spins electronically instead of by using a pedal.
  21. Does anyone else notice the extended backrests/headrests? No other MF train has them...what makes Gwazi so different?
  22. ^ Not quite...similar concept though! Two arms, eight passengers. Now, let's add a 15-foot tower.
  23. The CS pack is DasMatze's German Railroad crossing set. There are also more "American" railroad crossings in Vodhin's Gadgets and Gizmos set. The pathway trick is done in four steps: 1. Build a railroad track. 2. Lower the grid squares that you want to have as crossings. 3. Build pathways on those lowered squares. 4. Raise the squares. AEB, the updates are so realistic! Keep it up!
  24. It's kind of disappointing that US coasters can't get close to the ground like the Klotti Coaster or close to the water like Atlantis Adventure. Stupid safety.
  25. Here's something I've been working on in between the Inventor projects... Not your typical out-and-back woodie...
